Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
Can you believe this is the last Friday in February? It’s sad to see time flying but I don’t think any of us will miss the snowy season and with only 21 days until Spring, we can all “GOODBYE FEBRUARY!”.

Hello Friends & Welcome to the Weekend Wind-Down Party #6
Hopefully you are not in a sugar coma from eating too many sweets but are home relaxing or preparing for a fun-filled maybe sun-filled weekend. Truth be told, I am not a big proponent of Valentine’s Day. The thriftinista in me knows that tomorrow all the candy at Walgreens will be 50% off – 2 boxes for the price of 1!
Anywho, let’s get this party started with this week’s featured posts. Please feel free to copy and paste the button onto your blog page as it will also be featured on our Pinterest Page.

Hello Friends & Happy New Year Monday
By now you’ve probably read a Business Report that listed some of the top jobs in Social Media for 2014. If not, here’s a list of just a few:
- SEO Specialist
- Social Media Strategist
- Online Community Manager
- Social Media Marketing Manager
- Social Media Coordination
So what does that mean to you and I – it’s GOOD NEWS!!! We may be in a position to write our own ticket if we stick to the 3-P’s:
Blogging is no longer just a hobby for many nor is it a get-rich-scheme. Advertisers are looking to put their money somewhere – so why not with you and your blog?
In order to monetize a blog not only do you have to stick with the 3-P’s, you also have to remember the 3-C’s:
No man is an island and neither is a blogger – we can’t survive alone. Our content must be great – ABC (Always Be Creating). Advertisers are looking for blogs with good numbers, check your ratings, use analytics, email marketing, social media and keep current with your stats.
Share, comment, meet and greet and join a community – ABC (Always Be Creating). My experience has shown that bloggers are very willing to share their knowledge, we are all experts in our own niche. Join a community like Sverve, be active, participate, hangout and share. Respond to your comments and comment on other blogs, learn, read and stay current, it will help to increase your numbers. You don’t need to join every social media site out there, just pick one or two but be very active on them.
Collaborate, support each other, follow up don’t just comment and run, stay paired up and shared up. Blogging is not a sprint, it’s a marathon and the pot is big – envy and jealousy has no place! “Congratulate ~ Don’t Hate” when others get opportunities, follow them to learn how they did it.
There is no magic bullet…no one size fits all or only one way way to monetize your blog. Try out different methods – do what works best for you – mind your P’s and C’s but remember to have fun – everything else will fall into place.
What have you done to successfully grow your blogging business?
Stay Blessed – No Stress in the New Year!
Hello Friends and Happy New Year’s Eve!
As we close out the year 2013, I would like to take this time to say, “Thank You” to all my wonderful bloggy friends and followers.
A Blog is defined as:
“a personal website or web page on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis.”
Yet it is so much more, a blog becomes part of you, a special part of your life an extension of your personality. If done in the right spirit it can fill you with added joy and happiness.
Each of you in your own unique way has definitely added more joy and happiness to my life. When you take the time to read and comment on my posts, write your own uplifting and informational posts – take beautiful photographs and fashionable attire, you open your home and hearts to others…and all of this makes my life brighter.
Thank you D-Anna at Style Salvation, a fashionista diva for nominating me for a “Best Moment” award and thank you Clouds n Cups, jewelry designers extraordinaire for the “Blog of The Year 2013” award nomination!
Thank you all my bloggy friends for everything you have done and for everything that you are! Continue inspiring, delighting and informing others with your blogs.
I am wishing you Peace and Prosperity as we enter another year in our lives.
Be Safe and Be Happy &
May God Richly Bless You All!
Happy New Year!
Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
When I first started blogging it was just an outlet for me but with each “Like” and “Comment” it became more and more a part of me. There is no greater feeling than to be recognized and awarded for what you do, but when it comes from your own, it’s truly a blessing.
This past summer and also on Monday I was nominated for a few Blogger Awards but was remiss in acknowledging them, so on this Thankful Thursday, I am doing so.
Beauty Vancouver you TAGGED me in a “Would Your Rather, Beauty Edition. I promise to give my answers, but at my age, I won’t give away too many secrets!
Forever Fitting In presented me with The Sunshine Award and you know how I feel about God’s Gift of Light! I promise to answer all
11 10 questions because I will never reveal “how many pairs of shoes I have”!
Flourishing at Home, thank you so much for the Liebster Award. I’ll answer all
11, 10 of your questions, all except #7, you might think I’m crazy because I’m still trying to catch up on the reading of my 2010 magazines!
Me and My Mini Me also presented me with The Sunshine Award, now the song, “you are my Sunshine my only Sunshine” is stuck in my head. I also promise to answer all of your questions but #6 hurts my heart because the answer is “YES”
Thank you all my Bloggy Friends I truly appreciate each of you.
Now follow me over to Katherine’s Corner, and join in on her Thursdays Favorite Things Blog Hop.
Have a Thankful Thursday – Smooches!
Hello Friends and Happy First Fall Saturday!
I am ending the week with the reposting of the Sverve Influencer of the Week, so that I can once again thank you all for helping me achieve this honor.
Enjoy your weekend – Smooches!
Hello Friends and Happy Monday, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Last Saturday I attended my first Blogger’s Meetup which was held in Washington, DC and sponsored by the BLMGirls DMV Chapter. BLMGirls.com aka “Bloggers Like Me is an online community of women bloggers created by Leslie Young dedicated to the positive exchange of ideas, tips and advice about fashion, beauty, relationships, faith and everything in between. Through blogging, meetups and social networking we encourage each other and focus on REALationship building!”
The Experience was also simultaneously being held by the Chapters in Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles. When I initially registered for the event I didn’t realize it was during the Labor Day weekend and I almost changed my mind as I did not want to be stuck in Holiday traffic. Thankfully, the trip to DC was delayed only by a few minor back ups about a half an hour from the venue. At 2:30 pm, I arrived at the 201Bar, after finding a free-to-park lot across the street on Massachusetts Ave NE (I love FREE). Upon entering this modernly decorated tavern I was immediately greeted by our hostesses Whitney James and Karen Curtis.
Each table setting held a pink Welcome Folder that contained worksheets including a “Getting to Know You” form and on a separate table there were Swag Bags. I was the first to arrive but shortly afterwards more lovely ladies began to enter, including my Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority sister who had traveled up from North Carolina.
As more ladies arrived it quickly became a festive atmosphere enhanced only by the mingling which intensified as we got down to the business of completing the “Getting to Know You” form. As we mixed and mingled the waitstaff began to bring out trays containing the most scrumptious Hors d’eouvres; an assortment of Egg Rolls, Mini Crab Cakes, Jerk Shrimp, Skewered Beef, and Flat Bread Pizza. We were also given 1 drink ticket for which I used mine for a glass of the house Red Wine – you know me!
The theme of the BLMGirls Experience was Building and Growing your Brand by building REALationships. Our guest speaker, Arsha Jones of BrandBuildSell provided a lively and very informational presentation on Branding Your Blog. Throughout the presentation she allowed ample time for sharing as well as questions and answers from the group. We took a short break to dine on Seasoned Chicken Wings, Rolls, Sliced Turkey and Mini Dessert Bars.
At the conclusion of Arsha’s presentation, Whitney’s husband, the designated photographer took a few group photos outside and The Experience ended just as it had started – Perfectly. Our “Swag Bag” contained a #BLMGirls TShirt and a sample of “Capital City Mumbo Sauce“, a product made and marketed by Arsha and her husband.
It definitely was a wonderful Experience and I’m glad to have met some amazing Bloggers Like Me and to finally see the faces behind the blogs. Driving home was smooth sailing and I look forward to the next BLMGirls DMV Experience.
Hello Friends and Happy Ju’last day in July!
I hope it’s just a beautiful where you are as it is here because we have been experiencing wonderful weather this week. Tomorrow calls for a little rain but the rest of the week and into the weekend will be simply gorgeous! I have two blogging assignments scheduled for Thursday, one is a meeting to discuss doing a review for the Grand Opening of the Westown Movie Theater coming to Middletown this fall. Then mid-morning I will be heading to Wilmington to take pictures and interview young entrepreneurs who have completed “The Chasing The Dream Entrepreneurship Camp” sponsored by The Money School of Delaware.
I have taken the day off from work, however, if you’re working tomorrow in Wilmington, please stop by Rodney Square between 11 and 1 for the “Chasing The Dream Entrepreneurship Marketplace”. Students learned about starting businesses and now they have an opportunity and tools to run those businesses so please come out and support (don’t forget to bring an umbrella).
