Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world. What do you think of when I say ‘classic wardrobe pieces’. If you said, maxi skirts and animal prints then you are today’s winner of the “guess that combination” contest. Actually, it’s not a contest but just a fun way to start the day, and you know we all need a little stress relief and fun these days.
This first maxi skirt mixed with an animal print was thrifted from Goodwill last year, and the top was a gift from hubby for Eid al Fitr in 2013.
I made the necklace with pieces purchased from Michael’s and the boots were thrifted new also from Goodwill.
I threw on a few sets of bangles and grabbed this purse from Avon to complete the look. Gotta love the classic maxi especially when it’s animal print.
With this outfit, I paired another thrifted maxi skirt with a very old sweater and wrapped it with an animal print scarf. The animal print purse is also thrifted, gotta love people who donate some of these accessories! The shoes were purchased from Ross.
So which pairing of the maxi and animal prints do you like best? How do you mix and max your animal prints?

Hello friends and welcome to the 2nd feature of the special Holiday series created by fellow thriftinista FashionPlaceKC. This one is entitled Sparkle & Shine for the Holidays.
I love dressing up for the holidays, but not totally glitz and glam because I am more of a “Stay At Home” party person. Years ago, pre-marriage I would get all dressed up and hit the clubs, but now it’s more like visiting family or the neighbors and then home by midnight.
I do love glitter and these shoes and purse were actually purchased from Payless a few years ago for a holiday party. The top was thrifted from Goodwill and when I posted a pic of it two weeks ago on Instagram I received a lot of compliments. The necklace is Jewelrymax.net and the bracelet/ring is Avon. The mink stoles belonged to my grandmother, and I very rarely if ever wear them, but I will also never ever part with them.
Believe it or not, I just threw on a pair of stretch pants to complete this comfy, house party outfit.
I also found this cute top and sequin belt at Goodwill. I decided to wear them over a pair of leggings but for this picture only. Hubby didn’t think they were something that I should have featured because I would never wear them out of the house. Oh well, the outfit is kinda cute so I’ll probably just wear it around the house, sans the heels, belt and purse of course. What do you think?
Now pop over to FashionPlateKC‘s blog and link up your holiday sparkle and shine outfits, and don’t forget to bring the wine!

Hello friends, Happy 1st Sunday. I trust you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to spend some time with family, friends and perhaps do a little shopping. We had a soggy Saturday, but that didn’t stop a lot of people from heading out. Hubby and I actually spent a few hours at Wally World (Walmart) but not to do any Christmas shopping, it was groceries only.
Believe it or not, I haven’t put up one decoration nor brought the tree up from the basement! I’m not into the spirit just yet, however, I do know that by this time next weekend everything will be done!
This weekend may have been cold and soggy, but last weekend it was nice and sunny so this is what I wore to church. The pencil skirt is JC Penney and the top is so old, that I can’t remember where it was purchased, I do know that it was a suit and I donated the pants.
The clutch was purchased from DSW and the Traci Lynn Necklaces and Bracelet were a gift from hubby.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, I’m heading down to Smyrna, for the 2nd Goodwill Stylist pull for the 2015 Runway Show.

Hello friends, I trust you all had a wonderful week and perhaps are now gearing up for the best holiday of the season – THANKSGIVING!
I don’t know about you but I think the industry is pushing Christmas way too early, I am still eating Halloween candy! The commercials, the songs, and now the decorations three weeks before Turkey Day is a bit much for me,
What are your thoughts?
Anywho, I finally broke out the winter boots and have worn my favorite pair twice last week, the over-the-knee suede boots and I am lovin’ them.
Today’s Sunday Style Roundup is featuring only two outfits and they are both entitled “Black N Boots” I also wore one of my Infinity Scarves purchased from Burlington Coat Factory to break up all the black in this outfit. The dress is a sleeveless sheath from Ross and the blazer is thrifted from Goodwill.
I always feel so corporate in a blazer and Goodwill is definitely the place to go for them.
In this second outfit the skirt is Worthington and cowl neck are both from JCPenney. The necklace was a new piece thrifted from Goodwill.
Lovely fall leaves
Today I am also featuring my oldest son, Tayair, not for what he’s wearing although he is handsome in his suit jacket. He spoke at his CLSC Open House on Tuesday evening. CLSC is the University of Delaware’s Career and Life Studies Certificate program, a 2-Year, non-residential college certificate program for young adults with intellectual disabilities and I was very proud of him!
What do you think, have they started promoting Christmas too early?Enjoy the rest of the week!

Hello friends and welcome to this week’s Sunday Stylin Roundup! Last week was fun because I experimented with mixing patterns and I am anxious to know what you think.
The first outfit is entitled Blue Monday.
This of course is one of my favorite pencil skirts from JCPenney. With it I wore a light blue cardigan, black t-shirt and my Cushion Soft shoes from Avon.
The “Bedrock’ necklace is also one of my favorites because it picks up the colors in the skirt nicely.
The next outfit is entitled Dots and Dashes
This is truly a mix of patterns, Polka Dots and Houndstooth but I read if you keep it in the same color family, it won’t appear too drastic.
What do you think – yay or nay?
These are a pair of my favorite black suede Unlisted Booties and the DKNY tote was purchased about 10 years ago from “Saks Off 5th” in Orlando.
Third outfit is entitled “Lions Tigers and Stripes Oh My!”
I really did a pattern mix with the leopard and stripes and I liked it! Because the black pants were the anchor the leopard and stripes didn’t clash, I will definitely be repeating this outfit again.
The shoes are Christian Sirano for Payless and the purse is Avon. I believe the cardigan was either Ross or Marshall’s and the necklace is from Jewelrymax.net.
Last outfit for the week was Stripes and Studs
Now this definitely was a mix match but it seems to go together – right? Believe it or not, this is a thrifted Lord & Taylor blouse that once belonged to my sister and it has been in my closet since 1992!
With it I am wearing the striped skirt from Burlington, studded shoes and tote as well as ring and bracelet set from Avon.
I liked this outfit the best, what say you?
Last Monday I had to take my car to the dealer for service and ended up with two different loaners, a Chevy Silverado which is a huge pickup truck and then a Chevy Cruze…I’ll tell you all about them next week.
I hope your Sunday is a good day and that you enjoyed the extra hour of sleep!

Hello friends and welcome to another episode of Stylin Sunday Roundup! It’s funny because I always think about a rodeo when I type the title of this post.
The weather ’round here parts has been unpredictable which is evidenced by these three outfits. The temps have been up and down with damp and dry conditions in between and soon I’ll have to put on some tights.
This first outfit is titled Stripes and Such
Stripes and Such is a mix of patterns with the leopard print booties that were purchased from the Deb Shop in the Exton Mall a few years back. The grey skirt has black side panels so I chose this thrifted top as a complimentary accent.
What do you think?
I do love my cardigan sweaters especially those that fall below my hips.
This is my Polka Dot and Beads outfit. The sweater is a recent purchase from Burlington Coat Factory, the House of Dereon purse was also purchased from BCF but that was several years ago. My favorite “Betty Boop” polka dot shoes, beaded necklace and silver accessories completes the look.
This last outfit is entitled “Goodwill Goodie” and not because of the outfit but because of the leather bag which I purchased for my son for $8.00. He wanted his father’s leather bag but we had donated it to Goodwill last year, so I was on the hunt for another one and this was perfect.
I love thrifting at the Goodwill in Smyrna, DE. Speaking of Goodwill, I will once again be a Stylist for the 2015 Goodwill Runway Show and I am looking forward to working with the group again.
On this “no-work day casual Friday” I’m wearing leggings under a leopard print dress and leopard print flats from Citi Trends. You may remember that I wore this same outfit 2 years ago on Thanksgiving, it’s one of my casual favs. Brass earrings and bangle with a black band watch from Avon completes the look.
So which outfit did you like best?
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and will also have a fantabulous week ahead.

Hello friends and welcome to another week of Sunday Stylin Roundup. The last two weeks of summer were fantastic in Delaware, as a matter of fact the entire summer season was fantastic and Autumn is starting out just as nice.
The four outfits being featured this week include a lot of black, but who doesn’t have a lot of black in their closets?
In this outfit there is a mix of black, beige and steel grey. The skirt is JCPenney, tank and shoes are thrifted and purse is from Burlington Coat Factory. The choker has been in my jewelry box for a long time, as a matter of fact, I believe it once belonged to my grandmother.
I hadn’t done much shopping during the summer, however, this dress was one that I did buy at Ross. The Buddha Bag was purchased last year during Shop Small Business Saturday, and the Mia heels are from The Shoe Dept in the Exton Mall. The necklace was a Flea market find and the bracelet was $1.25 from Burlington Coat Factory.
Leaves falling on the pool deck made for a perfect backdrop for this Blue by the Pool outfit. This is another skirt from JCPenney, top from Marshall’s and I won the necklace from a fellow blogger. The thrifted beige pumps and bracelet from Old Navy completes the look.
I love turquoise blue – how about you?
In the last outfit you can tell that the temperatures are beginning to change as did my wardrobe. I will be wearing more long sleeves, blazers and cardigans so I spent more than 6 hours last Saturday in my closet, check out these before and after pics.
Unfortunately, I still have the spare bedroom to clear out – I had bags and bags of items to be donated to Goodwill – “Donate Stuff Create Jobs!”
I am not ready to cover my tootsies or wear tights, so I will continue wearing peep-toe shoes until the first snow fall.
How about you, are you ready to pull on the boots or shop for more summer styles? If you want to shop for more, go check out the sales at Shoedazzle or the BUY ONE GET ONE FREE SALE at JustFAB

Hello friends and welcome to the weekend!
Today is my 53rd Birthday and later on I will be celebrating it with my hubby and son with a dinner down at the Christiana Riverfront.
In the meantime, I thought I would post a few summer outfits that didn’t quite make it to the blog. However, if you follow me on Instagram you might remember seeing some of them in a “Fashion after Fifty” post.
You know how much I love black and white polka dots, so with this outfit I accented it with gold accessories. Both the top and pants are thrifted, the purse is quite old as are the sandals. The bracelet was purchased at the QVC Outlet in Frazer, PA, Avon watch and the ring is from Old Navy.
This was another Casual Friday with white jeans and sequins top which I had never worn during the day, but hey, YOLO and I’m over 50! The purse was found at Charmingly Linda’s Consignment Shop in West Chester, PA and the studded sandals are staples in my closet.
This was another fun outfit, with the pink lace top, pink gingham shoes from Rugged Wearhouse and multi-color purse from Ross. I chose to anchor the outfit with a black pencil skirt.
And finally my all time favorite outfit of the season, mixing brown and blue with a studded top thrifted from Goodwill, faux Jimmy Choo purse and multiple bangles from Old Navy. The faux Snakeskin pumps from Target are a pair of my favorite pumps so they will be worn a lot this fall.
So what do you think, not bad for an old lady huh…?

Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world.
This Peachy Polka Dot outfit never made it onto the blog in May, but I couldn’t let it pass by without a least an honorable mention. I love Polka Dots and this dress was one of the ones I purchased at Boscov’s in 2005 when I was searching for something to wear to my grandmother’s funeral. She loved the color blue and polka dots as much as I, however, I ended up wearing a traditional black dress.
I love this dress and I usually end up wearing it at least 4 times a year. Because it’s sleeveless, it obviously works well in the Spring and Summer, however, if I throw on a cardigan or pullover sweater it works equally well in the Fall and Winter.
The dress originally came with a blue ribbon belt and bolero jacket, however, I decided to wear it with this peach, thick waisted belt which was purchased from Rugged Wearhouse for only $1.00. Needless to say, at that price I got several in different colors, isn’t the oversized sheer flower in the front cute?
The Polka Dot purse was also from Rugged Wearhouse and I may have mentioned this before, but they have some cute and inexpensive accessories. The necklace and earring set is from Avon and the shoes are Urbanog.com.
What is your favorite print or pattern?
I am linking up with Style elixir – so come on over if you want to see other great polka dot dresses.

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday. We are halfway through another wonderful week and so we have two new shoe contenders, but before we begin, let’s take a look at last week’s You Choose The Shoes winners.
Were they your choice?
Now the shoes that I picked for this week are similar in print but different in style and I wanted them to compete with the pattern in my dress, take a look:
animal print Jessica Simpson’s peep toe pumps from a consignment shop
-vs-
The dress was thrifted from Goodwill and like I said, I didn’t want to go with a solid color pump, so I stepped outside of the box with the animal print. What do you think – good choice or not?
Open toe versus closed toe, and they are both equally comfortable.
The extra long beaded necklace was a purchase from Rugged Wearhouse, which is my favorite store for costume jewelry.
Which Shoes Do You Choose?
Will it be Jessica Simpson
or
Christian Sirano?
What are your thoughts on mixing patterns, especially with animal prints.
Guess what, I was featured by Whitney at her Personal Style Linkup, so when you get a chance come on over and check it out!
