Dance Away the Dust
Dance Away the Dust
Do you know how many calories you can burn by simply dancing?
Do you know how quickly you can clean a room by simply dancing?
Exercise and discipline doesn’t always have to go hand in hand. Exercise can be enjoyable! Recent studies shows that dancing not only burns a lot of calories, but it also reduces stress and it’s fun because you are not counting reps or keeping count so put on your ‘boogie boogie” slippers, grab a dust cloth or mop and get to movin!
Dancing is a total body workout so if you dance 3 times per week you could lose as much as 20 pounds in a year! You will be improving your balance and boosting brainpower and who doesn’t need that?
You don’t have to be a talented dancer with a lot of rhythm or even very young, Latin dances such as the cha-cha revs up the calorie burning and makes your tummy tighter.
Try dancing the Salsa or doing Zumba to shed even more of those stubborn pounds. Check out these adorable dancers from Ku’umba Academy who performed Sunday at the MidAtlantic Wine+Food Festival and take notice of the woman in the back.
Dance and dust to drop the pounds, get super sexy legs, banish back fat and bingo wings and you’ll also get the housework completed sooner!
Enjoy the rest of your day.
New Year ~ New You
Often I have music playing and I dance between household duties like laundry, dusting, even cooking. Even just rocking back and forth some burns a few calories 😉
I know what you mean, I remember dancing to music when I had to clean the house as a kid and to this day, I still love doing it. Happy Tuesday!
Love this post, who doesn’t love to dance!

I don’t know…I may not move as quickly as I once did but that doesn’t stop me – check out my YT video of the dance ensemble to see the lady who is definitely somebody’s grandma kicking up her heels – she put me to shame1
Not only CAN exercise be fun, but also it needs to be. Dance, dance, baby!
And you ladies definitely know how to keep in shape!!
I have to dance or nothing gets done.
My friends often ask if I work out…. No time for that, I just keep moving.
That’s the way to do it Melinda…I can’t wait to fling open the windows for a serious spring cleaning jam session!
Great Post… I thought about taking a Salsa class I wonder if I can get Hubs on board… Lol
Wouldn’t that be sexy – I think hubby might go for it! Happy Weekend Lynn!
Dance around, like you just don’t care!!. . . When I used to hang at the club I was so much smaller in size . . .I’ve got to get back on the good foot. . . .LOL!
oh yes, those were the size 8 and 10 days for me!
Always a good idea! Every once in awhile I’ll put on Dance Revolution on the Wii. … Or I’ll dance around while brushing my teeth or moving from room to room. You’re right – we have to be creative to get exercise in and not have it feel like we have to do it.
Yes, Petula and it’s so much fun…I used to love doing the Wii until I realized those little avatars were in better shape than I!
fantastic!
Yep, I am dancing now!
