OOTD – Polka Dots Pink Suede and Pearls

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday

This was my casual First Friday attire – Polka Dots, Pink Suede and “Pearls”.  The pink glitter earrings were gifted last year from a jewelry company, SweetLikeCake.com however, I could no longer find them online.

I hope you have a good day, I’m off to do my Saturday chores and looking forward to watching Saturday Night Live tonight, Kevin Hart is hosting and it’s going to be HILARIOUS!!!  They should have booked Robin Thicke as the musical guest with surprise appearances by JB Smooth, Boris Kodjoe and Nick Cannon – it would be a Real Husbands of Hollywood special.

OOTD – Pre V-Day Wednesday

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday

It’s the day before Valentine’s Day, do you have anything special planned…will Cupid be shooting any arrows your way?  I’ve never been big on V-Day and prefer to get my candy the day after when it’s half price – lol  Hubby and I may go out to dinner Friday night and I bought my sons a card and some candy from Dollar Tree, otherwise nothing special.  I guess when you are single and dating, Valentine’s Day is more of a Holiday, but I tell my men everyday that I love them and the 14th of February will be no different.

 I am still wearing red in honor of “America Goes Red for Women” month and will wear a wee bit more tomorrow.

We are expecting snow but not until this evening so I decided to wear my grey, suede booties to pick up the color in the shirt.

These Bamboo faux fur trimmed booties were purchased a few years ago from Burlington Coat Factory and despite their “ugliness”, they are quite comfortable.

OOTD – Any Way the Wind Blows

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!

Can you believe it’s the last Thursday of the month, tomorrow is the first day of February. February 1st is also my “baby boy’s” Birthday and he will be 17 – somebody is getting old and it isn’t me!!!!
February, 1996, two days after he was born we were hit with a major snow storm that kept us house bound for almost a month. I hope that doesn’t happen again, the storm of 2010 was more than enough to last a lifetime – remember that one?

No snow storms in the forecast, just bright sunshine and high winds, but not like what tore through some southern states last night – we are truly blessed!

These blue suede booties are different than the one’s featured here.  They were purchased last year from The Shoe Dept, and also came in red which I didn’t get – wish I had because it would have saved me from going to the mall today.  By the way, have you been to JC Penney’s lately?  If not, GO, they have $1 ~ $3 ~ $5 and $10 clearance racks, I got a red skirt and a pair of capris for $5 each!  Their new “one price no sales” marketing campaign didn’t work out so well, and now they are restructuring, so head over for some great bargains.  The “housewives of Exton” were racking up on kids clothes on clearance for a dollar which are better deals than Goodwill!

Clearance Shoe Haul from Target

I have a LOVE-HATE relationship with Tar’jay – I love their clothing and shoes and of course their awesome clearance sales but I hate that I can’t resist leaving without making a major purchase.  I drive past Target on Route 202 everyday and have been patiently waiting for their Cap Toe shoes to go on sale.  They were the “must haves” for the holidays with many bloggers Instagraming pictures, but I refused to pay full price.  I wanted a pair in red so last night I finally decided to stop…OMG!!!

Unfortunately, I was unable to find a pair of red, Cap Toes in my size but I did get these jewel-toned, embellished and zebra print loafers for $7.48 pair!

I checked the accessories and found a tote in Cognac which is a very neutral color that works well with most outfits.

I also purchased two pencil skirts and 2 tops but if you are looking for colored skinny jeans they have a large assortment of colors and patterns most  priced below $20.00.

I apologize if when you read today’s title you thought I would be posting about Barefoot or Lindeman Sweet Red Wines – nope, it’s not Friday nor is this Instagram!
Today’s posted outfit is Wine in color, or you could call it Oxblood or you could call it Burgundy – whatever … I chose Wine because it starts with a “W” and so does Wednesday – u so silly!  How would you describe the color?

Like A Good Neighbor…Bloggers Are There!

I’ve lived in my development for over 20 years and our house was built several months before any of our neighbors.  We’ve never had any problems and we speak in passing, but no one has ever said, “You’re a good neighbor”.

 I started my blog 8 months ago and to my great surprise was recently nominated to receive a “Good Neighbor Award”.  Saturday morning en route to Dover, I received an email from the award’s sponsor, Katherine of Pilowsalamode, and got so excited, joyously telling my son.  He was not impressed, looked at me like I had 4 heads and kept on driving.  The excitement grew as I read more, it wasn’t just the award, I along with others was nominated anonymously by fellow bloggers and their comments were so heart felt and touching.  Each morning, I will get a cup of coffee and visit the  blogger neighborhood reading and meeting my virtual neighbors.

 I want to thank Katherine for sponsoring the award, thank and send a great big HUG and SMOOCH to the person who nominated me and congratulations to all the award winners.

Learning Something New Everyday

One of my grandmother’s favorite sayings was, “you learn something new everyday”, it didn’t matter how old she got because she left this world at the age of 98, still learning something new.  When I started this blog in February it was an outlet to share my shopping trips with others because I no longer had Mama to share them with.  Oftentimes I over shopped to compensate for my loss but blogging about it made me feel better.  I used to post it on Facebook but felt my “friends” weren’t quite interested in my shoes and outfits so I decided to blog as a personal diary for myself.  One of the best things about blogging are your followers, they make you feel good when they post a comment or just simply checking the “like” button.  However, when you are nominated by a fellow blogger for an award it’s even more special and it’s an opportunity to “pay if forward”.

In April I was nominated for a “Versatile Blogger Award” by The Lipstick Giraffe, being a neophyte I didn’t know that there were things to do in order to accept the honor, I just simply replied “thank you” and kept on blogging.  Now that time has passed and I’ve learned something new I am now finally accepting this honor properly and completing the required tasks:
