OOTD – Cool Cotton Thursday

Last week’s heat wave officially ended on Monday with temps only reaching 89 degrees, but today it’s expected to be 92 or higher.  Last week my outfits were shorts, tanks and bathing suits but that’s not going to fly at work, so cotton is the perfect fabric to keep me cool in this weather.  The sleeveless cotton shirt and skirt were thrifted from two different Goodwill stores earlier in the season.

OOTD – Green Smoothie

Today’s smoothie wasn’t as green as my outfit because I am low on spinach, I used blueberries, strawberries and non-fat yogurt and it was quite tasty.  Today is Hump Day Wednesday and the week is dragging after last week’s short one but I am plowing through in anticipation of another great weekend.

OOTD – Green Turtle Love

I simply adore this green rhinestone turtle ring, his head and legs move and just looking at it makes me smile. It had a clearance sticker on it for $3.00 but I don’t think it was correct, however, they let me purchase it at that price.

OOTD – Chunky Monday

No not me…the necklace, even though I do feel chunky after having birthday cake and beer over the weekend.  Today I decided to wear this chunky necklace that I purchased from Avon months ago but never wore.  To my surprise I think it works well with this plain, white, scooped-neck shirt – what do you think?

OOTD – Cool in Capris

Today is going to be another hot and humid summer day but it’s FRI-YAY!!!! When I got home yesterday it was still 99 degrees but today it’s supposed to be cooler and stay in the low 90’s. My outfit of the day are closet staples purchased a couple years ago and are my go to comfort clothes. White denim capris and a sleeveless top always feels good and is cool enough to wear in this weather. I ventured into the back of the closet to find my summer sandals, these are one of my favorites purchased last year from Bear Feet Shoes. My jewelry is always a mix of gold and silver and today I added a bronze ring, bracelets, and earrings. Bronze is a metal that I also like to wear especially in the summer.

FRI-YAY !!!!

The only way to start the day – COFFEE!!!!

Bronze, silver, gold – I’ll mix them all.

HAVE A FUN FILLED WEEKEND!

OOTD – Funky Friday

It’s FRI-YAY the beginning of what is predicted to be a gorgeous weekend. I plan on getting my inside chores done early so that I can sit poolside reading magazines, listening to music and sipping a few cold ones!!! I am not sure what my sons have planned for their pops but hopefully it includes eating out so that I don’t have to cook! I am wishing you all a safe, fun filled, fan-tab-u-lous weekend and Happy Father’s Day to all the dads.

Enjoy!

OOTD – 2009 Revisited

This dress was one of three purchased in May 2009, to wear to my grandmother’s funeral – RIP Mama!  Blue was her favorite color and I wanted to wear something blue but ended up wearing the traditional funeral black.  It has been hanging in my closet ever since because it has a short cropped jacket and ribbon belt which makes it look very matronly.  Today I decided to wear it but without the jacket and ribbon belt and it’s now one of my favorites.

OOTD – Picnic Pattern

Every time I see red and white gingham my mind takes me back to the family picnics we had as a child.  Whether it was at Bear Mountain, NY or Silver Lake, DE  spreading that red and white tablecloth across a dirty wooden table meant a day filled with FOOD, FUN, and FAMILY!

One year a bunch of us kids got lost in Bear Mountain and we were scared to death that a real bear was going to eat us (child’s imagination running wild).  We roamed around the woods for what seemed like hours, scared and arguing over which way was the right one back.  Eventually we found our way and none of the adults seemed to miss us so we didn’t get into trouble and life was good again.  Things got even better when we saw that red and white gingham tablecloth covered with FOOD – hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, chips, Kool-Aid, cookies and watermelon!  We ate until we got sick and made a pact to never venture into the woods ever again – aaah more  wonderful childhood memories!

OOTD – Gold Tone Gladiators

Why is it that when you are on vacation you tend to buy things that you wouldn’t normally wear at home. That happened to me while in Florida a few years ago when I fell head over heels in love with these gold tone gladiator sandals. Now I can count on one hand just how many times I have actually worn them! It’s not like they are uncomfortable, they are just a bit too shiny for my taste. I have decided to wear them just one more time before they are packed with the rest of the Goodwill donations.
