Stylin Sunday Roundup
Hello friends and welcome to another episode of Stylin Sunday Roundup! It’s funny because I always think about a rodeo when I type the title of this post.
The weather ’round here parts has been unpredictable which is evidenced by these three outfits. The temps have been up and down with damp and dry conditions in between and soon I’ll have to put on some tights.
This first outfit is titled Stripes and Such
Stripes and Such is a mix of patterns with the leopard print booties that were purchased from the Deb Shop in the Exton Mall a few years back. The grey skirt has black side panels so I chose this thrifted top as a complimentary accent.
What do you think?
I do love my cardigan sweaters especially those that fall below my hips.
This is my Polka Dot and Beads outfit. The sweater is a recent purchase from Burlington Coat Factory, the House of Dereon purse was also purchased from BCF but that was several years ago. My favorite “Betty Boop” polka dot shoes, beaded necklace and silver accessories completes the look.
This last outfit is entitled “Goodwill Goodie” and not because of the outfit but because of the leather bag which I purchased for my son for $8.00. He wanted his father’s leather bag but we had donated it to Goodwill last year, so I was on the hunt for another one and this was perfect.
I love thrifting at the Goodwill in Smyrna, DE. Speaking of Goodwill, I will once again be a Stylist for the 2015 Goodwill Runway Show and I am looking forward to working with the group again.
On this “no-work day casual Friday” I’m wearing leggings under a leopard print dress and leopard print flats from Citi Trends. You may remember that I wore this same outfit 2 years ago on Thanksgiving, it’s one of my casual favs. Brass earrings and bangle with a black band watch from Avon completes the look.
So which outfit did you like best?
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and will also have a fantabulous week ahead.

Sunday Stylin Roundup
Hello friends and welcome to another week of Sunday Stylin Roundup. The last two weeks of summer were fantastic in Delaware, as a matter of fact the entire summer season was fantastic and Autumn is starting out just as nice.
The four outfits being featured this week include a lot of black, but who doesn’t have a lot of black in their closets?
In this outfit there is a mix of black, beige and steel grey. The skirt is JCPenney, tank and shoes are thrifted and purse is from Burlington Coat Factory. The choker has been in my jewelry box for a long time, as a matter of fact, I believe it once belonged to my grandmother.
I hadn’t done much shopping during the summer, however, this dress was one that I did buy at Ross. The Buddha Bag was purchased last year during Shop Small Business Saturday, and the Mia heels are from The Shoe Dept in the Exton Mall. The necklace was a Flea market find and the bracelet was $1.25 from Burlington Coat Factory.
Leaves falling on the pool deck made for a perfect backdrop for this Blue by the Pool outfit. This is another skirt from JCPenney, top from Marshall’s and I won the necklace from a fellow blogger. The thrifted beige pumps and bracelet from Old Navy completes the look.
I love turquoise blue – how about you?
In the last outfit you can tell that the temperatures are beginning to change as did my wardrobe. I will be wearing more long sleeves, blazers and cardigans so I spent more than 6 hours last Saturday in my closet, check out these before and after pics.
Unfortunately, I still have the spare bedroom to clear out – I had bags and bags of items to be donated to Goodwill – “Donate Stuff Create Jobs!”
I am not ready to cover my tootsies or wear tights, so I will continue wearing peep-toe shoes until the first snow fall.
How about you, are you ready to pull on the boots or shop for more summer styles? If you want to shop for more, go check out the sales at Shoedazzle or the BUY ONE GET ONE FREE SALE at JustFAB

A Little Something Sweet ~ Mini Banana Loaf
Hello friends,
I remember when I was growing up my grandmother always had to have “a little something sweet” after eating dinner. She believed everything in moderation and never over ate, but she loved her sweets. She would also proudly remind me that the most she ever weighed was 120 lbs, and that was when she was pregnant with her twins, my mother and uncle.
I haven’t seen 120 lbs since the birth of our first son, but I also believe everything in moderation. Sunday dinners are my favorite meals to cook and sometimes I too like to have “a little something sweet” after eating.
Recently while looking through the clearance racks at Walmart I found these Welcome Home Brands Mini Baking Pans. They are made from oven safe paper and are a perfect size for “a little something sweet” dessert.
I cooked chicken and collard greens for dinner and then decided to make some Jiffy Banana muffins using the mini Baking Pans instead of a muffin tin. Following the box directions I filled each mini pan with 1/2 batter without pre-greasing which wasn’t necessary. After putting them on a baking sheet, they were placed in a pre-heated oven at 400 degrees for approximately 15 minutes.
The mini banana loaf removed easily from the pan, there was no scorching and the bread was delicious, which was made a little more so when topped with banana slices and cherry sauce – just “a little something sweet!”
How about you, do you like to have “a little something sweet” after dinner?
Don’t forget to come back at 6:00 p.m. for the #WWDParty!
Middletown Old Tyme Peach Festival Marks the End of Summer
Hello friends,
I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful end of the summer Saturday. I know summer doesn’t officially end until September 22nd, but for some strange reason, the Middletown Old Tyme Peach Festival seems to mark the end of it for me.
The Peach Festival was actually held last weekend and Malik and I were only able to spend about an hour there. Most of the morning we were in Walmart shopping for dorm supplies so unfortunately by the time we arrived there were no peaches left!
You have to get there early to even get a slice of peach pie from the M.O.T. Jean Birch Center. The crowds were large and the weather was warm but not an oppressive heat as it had been in previous years.
A few places like The Java House and Off the Kuff were no longer in business, instead they were replaced by Jewelpalooza and Candy Connections both great shops especially for this kid-friendly town.
Thankfully, Saving Grace Christian Bookstore was still open so we popped in there for a short visit. There are so many great gift ideas so make sure to pick up something for the holidays.
Now that the fireworks from the 4th of July and the parade of the Peach festival are over, there is one last major summer event in Middletown, the M.O.T. Big Ball Marathon.
This fun, and family friendly fundraiser is held during the Labor Day weekend and then that will definitely mark the end of the Summer 2014!
Does your town have an “end of the summer festival”?

You Choose the Shoes Week 18
Welcome to week 18 of “You Choose the Shoes”. I am happy to report that the denim shoes finally won NOT! Believe it or not, it was almost a tie but Ms. Elle squeaked ahead at the last minute.
Thank you all for voting and especially for making me feel good with those “you looked so young comments”!
It seems like denim just can’t win em! I know these heels were nice but must agree that they were a bit much with the denim maxi dress. I did however, get suggestions on what to wear with them…so here is one way, what do you think?
Now onto this week’s contenders who are vying to be the chosen one for this colorful maxi dress.
Both lend a little Island flare for the end of the summer. First choice are the Montego Bay slides from Payless versus Charlotte Russe slides or as I like to call them “lady in red”.
I love wearing slides with maxi dresses, because they are so comfy to slip on and easy to kick off under my desk or while driving the car.
Do you think the Montego Bay stripes are a bit too much and clash with all the colors in the dress?
How about the red Charlotte Russe? Is it just enough of one color to pull in the red from the top as not to be overpowered by the other colors in the dress – what do you think?
which will it be, the lady in red?
OR
Montego Bay Stripes
Before you choose, take a look at them solo:

24th Wedding Anniversary | Lunch at The Riverfront
24 YEARS AGO TODAY
I MARRIED MY BEST FRIEND!
Yesterday hubby and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary a day early by having lunch at The Big Fish Grill on the Riverfront in Wilmington. We each ordered salads, hubby chose the Spinach salad with Tilapia and I ordered the Goat Cheese salad with Mahi Mahi. They were both very delicious and the service was great – thank you David.
It was a beautiful afternoon so afterwards we strolled along the Riverfront hand in hand talking and of course taking pictures, I even asked a few people to take our picture.
After lunch we both needed to take a walk!
Just as it was 24 years ago, it was a perfect day, bright and sunny.
I wore the floral dress purchased from Ross, sandals from Payless and the tote in which I used to carry my camera is from Avon.
My handsome hubby looked dapper yet casual enough for a stroll on the Riverfront.
Looking forward to another 24 years!
