OOTD – Two-Tone Thursday

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!

This morning I woke up blessed but stressed which is not the norm for me. Before driving into work I stopped at Middletown Car Care to check on the status of “Miranda”, Tayair’s old car. We took it in last week for a diagnosis to determine if is was worth having it serviced and then given to Malik or not serviced and left on the lot to be sold.  I don’t like being stressed or carrying a burden so I am going to relax, take a deep breath, exhale and then release it into the atmosphere.

Friday Eve and it’s not very Springy, it’s overcast and cloudy, a “jeans and t-shirt” type of day, but since I can’t wear that to work it’s a “two-tone dress” type of day.

OOTD – Zebra Stripes and Tiger Orange

Hello Friends and Happy March Eve!

Can you believe today is the last day of February?  I am taking a PTO day off from work and will be attending an event later at The Money School of Delaware.  Yesterday started out wet and rainy so I just wore black slacks, a zebra print top and flats then added an orange belt to break up the black and white.  It wasn’t fashionable just comfy Corporate casual – what do you think?

The orange purse was purchased from Charmingly Linda’s Consignment Shop and I tied a multi-color scarf around the handles.

I was going to wear the single bracelet that I made in my DYI post (here), but decided to add a few wooden bangles to the zebra print ones that I had in my jewelry box

I used orange nail polish to cover a silver ring – another DYI

Duct Tape DIY

Hello Friends, I hope your Friday night is winding down and you are fine as wine…cheers…clink!

I was cleaning out my DIY supply drawer and found a roll of Zebra Print duct tape that was purchased from Dollar General and decided to do a quick project.

I covered a bracelet to wear with my Mossimo flats from Target.

D~Foss Custom Jewelry

My husband recently had a few pieces of custom jewelry designed by D~Foss Custom Jewelry.  Donna Foster, creator of D~Foss Custom Jewelry, has been crafting since childhood but only recently decided to turn her hobby into a profitable business.  She began making jewelry exclusively for family members and friends but after attending a vendor show she realized that she could create pieces that were better made and more reasonable in cost.

In 2012, after much research and faith Donna began D-Foss Custom Jewelry and although challenging she has found the experience rewarding.  Donna will make jewelry for men, women and children with prices ranging from $5 to $60 depending on time and material.  She also has pre-made jewelry for vendor shows and all her jewelry comes with a lifetime warranty, any repairs are done at no additional cost.

Personalized necklace and bracelets has our son’s name on them

Labor Day DIY's

20120903-203950.jpg

I hope everyone had a great holiday filled with fun, family and lots of food. Our holiday included a little shopping and a lot of grilling including today. Unfortunately, it rained most of the day and there were even reports of tornado-like winds downstate. Because of the weather we spent the day inside and I did a few chores and DIY projects.

Although unofficially this is considered the last day of summer, I am not ready to put away the summer clothing, including the white! We still have Indian Summer in October and during that time some of the days can be balmy.

One of my DIY projects was up-cycling a Maxi dress, cutting off the bodice above the elastic waist to make it a skirt. Now the maxi skirt will be worn with a light-weight pullover during Indian Summer or with boots and long, bulky sweater in the fall.

The black, faux suede loafers were purchased from Walmart for $14.97. I haven’t decided which embellishment to use, but at that price I may get a few more pairs to create different styles.

I hope you have a stress free and productive work week, try not to squeeze 5 days into 4 because it never works!!!
