Hello Friends and Happy Monday
I hope you all had a great weekend, the last one before the official start of the Holiday Season, even though the Christmas commercials, parades and decorations are already in full effect. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, Winter does not officially begin until December 21st, but the temperatures definitely stated otherwise…it was freezing cold yesterday!
On Saturday I drove down to Dover to meet up with my cousins from Jersey, we met at DelState for the DSU -vs- Morgan State football game.
Unbeknownst to me, I had a 2nd cousin who is on the Morgan State Football team, Marcolm Banks is a freshman and a Fullback for the Morgan State Bears.
His mother, my cousin Michelle and I were very close growing up but had a falling out in 1990. It was a stupid arguement, she got upset with me because I didn’t want kids at our Wedding reception and at the time she had a young daughter. We stopped talking and 4 years after she gave birth to her second child, Marcolm, she died from cancer. We never made up nor did I ever apologize and to this day I still regret that…
Family is all that really matters and during this joyful time of the year it’s especially important to share the love and have good times. I’m asking if you have an estranged family member or friend, please let it go and make up now because life is too short!
As a DelState Alum – Class of ’83, it was the first time that I had sat on the opposing team’s side in the stadium, it was definitely a different view from the stands.
Fam in the stands!
Although DelState lost the game it was fun and the fans, family, and students enjoyed themselves despite the cold wintry winds!
I told my cousin if DelState lost, I would wear his Morgan State cap in front of a Hornet’s backdrop.
I love my cousins, thanks for inviting me to the game!
Have a wonderful day – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Crocktober Fri-Yay!
I missed a few Friday Foodie Features last month but the timing is now right with the official start of Autumn. October begins the season of football, family and comfort foods and it also means a return to my all time favorite way to make a meal and that is with the Crock Pot or Slow Cooker.
It wasn’t too long ago that there were only a few Slow Cooker Seasonings available at the grocery stores, now there are several more options available on the supermarket shelves. I’ve tried a few of the new ones by McCormick’s and the Fiesta Chicken was a hit in my house, my men loved it – ‘ole
Ingredients:
- 1 can of black beans
- 2 cans of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup frozen corn
- 1-2 lbs or chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 packet of McCormick’s Slow Cookers Seasoning – Fiesta Chicken
Spray Crock Pot with cooking spray or use liner, put in chicken thighs or breast – remember NOT to wash the chicken.
Mix all ingredients into a bowl and stir
Pour mixture over chicken
I had this frozen tomato so I added it
tip when a tomato begins to soften, don’t throw it away, put it in the freezer to use later in sauces or the Slow Cooker.
Cook on low 7-8 hours
Served over rice – Cilantro optional – dinner is served!
Have a fantabulous Day – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
To all my friends in the New England territory I hope you are ready for the Nor’easter and that you’ll stay safe indoors this weekend. I’m sure there will be several changes and cancellations of events for New York’s Fashion Week activities. The parade in New Rochelle that was scheduled Saturday to celebrate Ray Rice and The Ravens’ Super Bowl win was postponed until March 2nd.
We are getting rain with a chance of flurries beginning around midnight with little to no accumulation I don’t mind snowstorms that occur on the weekends late a night because we are safe indoors and not on the road with the crazies.
My son wasn’t too happy taking the pics this morning which is puzzling because I was the one standing out in the rain!
I was playing around with the photo editing with PhotoScape which I like better than PicMonkey and Pixl.
Today for Casual Friday I am channeling my inner MJ with the Fedora and Mary Tyler Moore throwing it into the air but those pics didn’t come out too well!
Outfit today are all closet staples, blue skinny jeans , cardigan and striped top // Pashima – Boscov’s // Mossimo boots thrifted new – GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Arm Candy and Rings – jewelry box
Long leather coat belonged to my lil sis Gloria – RIP my Angel
Have a fantabulous afternoon!

This was the 1st year that we didn’t pile into the car to go see the annual 4th of July Fireworks in Middletown. We usually leave home at dusk to drive to Friendly’s where we parked, ate ice cream and oooh and aaahed at the sky being lit up by fireworks a few miles away. There were 2 reasons for not going this year, the most important one being that Friendly’s caught fire the week before and burned to the ground and secondly, we just didn’t feel like going, we’ve seen enough fireworks at Disney to last a lifetime.
However, in keeping with some traditions Tayair and I wore RED, WHITE & BLUE, and Malik wore a T-Shirt in memory of Andre Smith the HS Football Player killed in a car accident over Spring Break. I did watch some of the Macy’s fireworks on TV and oooh and aaah at their sky being lit up without having to fight traffic to get home.
