Last week while blog hopping I entered a giveaway contest to win a scarf from The Posh’mina. One of the Rafflecopter’s entry requirements was to leave a comment on the company’s Facebook page. After viewing the online shop I chose the Hi’biscus style and commented that I would love to feature it on my blog. Within a matter of hours I received a reply from them with an offer to send one – wow the power of Facebook. (now I need to find a giveaway that offers to pay my bills-lol)
Anywho, a lovely lady by the name of Debbie, also touted as being “Fashionably Fifty” from The Posh’mina contacted me, stated that she liked my blog and would love to send a scarf for me to post. I agreed and said that I would wear it to church taking pictures from there, however, upon receipt I was like a kid at Christmas and couldn’t wait to wear it!
The company’s promo states that they had evolved big scarves to become more fashionable and versatile than ever. I definitely have to agree because of it’s design; the slotted arm holes is by far the best feature. How many times has your pashmina scarf fallen off your arms and onto a dirty floor in a public place? The innovative design of the slotted arm holes prevents this from occurring as well as the constant adjusting and slip sliding from the shoulders.
As like most scarves The Posh’mina can be worn various ways
I love the print of this scarf, the style is Hi’Biscus and there are currently 15 styles available online. Made in India, designed in the United States and are 100% Viscose. Dry cleaning is recommended but I will hand wash in a tub of cool water and Woolite when it needs to be freshened then lightly steamed pressed with an iron.

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay – Fri-Yay – Fri-Yay!!
Our local forecast was way off, we only got a few flakes early this morning and now the sun is shining on this a beautiful crisp Winter’s day. What are your plans for the weekend, will you be doing something fun outdoors? Not me, tomorrow I’ll be stuck inside my closet thanks to a mini avalanche that occurred last night.
Less than a minute after hanging up a shirt the top rack came crashing down taking down the one beneath it as well. Thankfully I had just stepped back otherwise I could have been hit in the head with falling purses! (don’t laugh, it was a hard hat zone!) I could only just look up and stare, hubby said, “you have too many clothes” – bite your tongue man! He offered to re-do my closet with sturdier material so tonight off to Lowes we go. I wish my closet looked like his…..
and not like this!!!!
Today’s outfit was born out of the chaos in my closet. The scarf which was hidden on a shelf along with the boy’s baby blankets and box of teeth – (what do you do with baby teeth?) was the palette. Most of my shoes are covered underneath all those shirts so I am wearing a pair of the loafers I just bought from Target. They were still in the spare bedroom and had never made it into the closet along with these purple jeans.
Scarf – closet staple // Sleeveless shirt – GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Cardigan – Walmart // Skinny Jeans – Citi Trends // Loafers – Mossimo via Target // Ring – MizOutlet.com // Bracelets and Earrings – Jewelry Box
All in all I think I made the chaos work for this casual Friday – what do you think?
Linking up with Casual Chic Mom, You Like Me! and perfect for today FRIDAY CHAOS with ohsoamelia – hop on over and meet some new bloggers.
Have a great afternoon – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay – Fri-Yay – Fri-Yay, the first one of the new year.
I don’t know about you, but I feel exhausted! Perhaps it’s because the highs of the holidays are over or simply because I need more sleep…whatever it is, I’m just glad that the weekend is almost here. Today’s casual Friday oufit consists of 5 shades of Purple ~ socks, boots, scarf, gloves and eye shadow. Does it remind you of “Barney” – “I Love You…You Love Me” – lol
Scarf – Rugged Wearhouse // Jeans – Citi Trends // Boots – Value City // Stripped Top – Old Navy // Leather Gloves – grandmother’s

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
This week is flying by and tomorrow is the first day of winter or Winter Solstice, the shortest day and the longest night of the year – are you ready? After the 21st, the days start to get longer and I begin to think Spring – yay!!! However, in anticipation and celebration of Winter Solstice I decided to go full wool in gray including an oversized sweater thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill).
Sweater and Skirt – GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Footless Tights – Rugged Wearhouse // Boots and Scarf- Closet staples
These are my favorites “go-to” boots, I wear them throughout the fall and winter months with pants and skirts
Wearing silver accessories which is my favorite metal for the winter
I will definitely NOT be wearing a coat or jacket because all of this wool will definitely keep me warm and toasty!
Happy Last Day of Fall 2012 – Smooches!
P.S. Don’t want to hear no mess about tomorrow being the end of the world – puhleeze!!!!

Living in New York in the ’80’s, I was always invited to “Purse Parties” and in addition to getting “designer inspired” bags on the low, it was a fun way to spend time with girlfriends. Advance ahead to 2012, and once again I am being invited to “Purse Parties”, this time via Facebook but still an opportunity to get “designer inspired” bags and accessories on the low and spending fun time with girlfriends.

Hello friends and Happy Thursday, the 1st day of November 2012. Prayers still going up for all those affected by Hurricane Sandy, may God/Allah provide you with much needed strength during this time.
Speaking of time…it is now flying with less than a month until Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday of the year! This transitional weather makes it’s too warm for me to wear a coat but too cold for just a sweater. This morning I threw on a shawl which is actually a large scarf that once belonged to my sister, it’s more than 20 years old yet very timeless. Every time I wrap it around me I can still feel the warmth of my sister’s embrace – RIP Gloria!
Blouse – Rugged Wearhouse from their new Corporate Casual line// Skirt – Goodwill// Bamboo Color Blocked Wedges – Rugged Wearhouse
