I’m always looking for a mascara that will lengthen my lashes, is not too thick or clumpy and will make my eyes pop because I don’t have the patience to wear falsies. There are so many to chose from and I have a mini collection of several brands including Avon as evidenced below.
Beauty and department store’s overpriced brands are not my cup of tea; drug store with a coupon or Dollar Tree works just fine. Lately I have been using Rimmel Volume Flash Mousse Mascara Black and I think the search is over.
What do you think?
I SEE YOU … NOW GET BACK TO WORK!
As a 60’s baby I loved the cool styles, patterns and colors of the 70’s and now it’s fashionable again. In thinking about the mod dungarees we wore in Junior High I decided to change up a pair of wide leg jeans. They were purchased at Walmart on clearance for $9.00 and the fabric were scraps that was with my sewing supplies.
The jeans were long enough for me to cut off an inch or two and then add a small piece of fabric. I cut a strip long enough to go around the bottom of the pant legs, folded, ironed, pinned, and then sewed it together. I like to sew but I could have easily used fabric glue or tape instead. Another scrap piece was glued to the front of the jeans like a patch, I may add some to the back pockets as well – real old skool!

The forecast for Saturday called for rain so I decided to make it a DIY day and created this Polka Dot t-shirt. I had seen one made on a YouTube video and it looked easy, but it was also time consuming. I purchased a 3-pack of t-shirts from Walmart for less than $9.00, and a yard of fusible fabric from Joann Fabrics. A pill bottle to make the circles, scissors, a tracing pencil, an iron/ ironing board were all that was needed.
The t-shirt was lightly pressed on Cotton setting to smooth out the folds and wrinkles. I was going to use the bottom of this cup but changed my mind because I wanted smaller circles. I traced around the bottle on the smooth side of the fusible fabric and then folded the fabric in an accordion style so that more than 1 circle would be cut at a time.
After laying out the dots, fusible side down, two rows at a time I pressed the iron down for approximately 10 seconds.
Once all the dots were ironed onto the shirt, it was turned inside out and pressed again lightly for a few seconds. It will be washed inside out and if any of the dots fall off I have extra fabric to replace them.
