OOTD – Boots On but Tootsies Still Out

Just when we thought Spring had sprung, Winter decided to make a guest appearance.

Fortunately I hadn’t removed my boots from the closet so today I wore a pair with a Spring dress.  For the fun of it I also tried on Booties and Red shoes but because of the rain, I stuck with the boots.

Wearing footless tights from Walmart I can say that my tootsies are still out!

School Daze

My son has a good sense of fashion and an equally good sense for finding a bargain, he purchased the headphones on eBay.

As he heads out I not only think about his easy walk to the bus stop (stop sign across the street), but also that this may be his last year on the “Big Yellow School Bus”!

The sun wasn’t that bright this morning and it had me feeling a little blue or should I say a little black and white – ((^_^))

Hopefully the sun will brighter this afternoon.

I forgot my under-eye concealer - looking more sleepy than normal

Last week the temperature was hovering near 90 degrees and people were wearing shorts on Saturday.   This week after a cold and rainy start on Sunday (snow in upstate PA), we’re lucky to get above 50 degrees!  Sleeveless dresses have been put back into the closet and long sleeves and skirts are front and center – but my tootsies are out and out they will stay until winter!

Crock Pot Meal – Island Barbecued Drumsticks

This meal was made using recipe from , with drumsticks instead of turkey legs.  I’ve made this previously with turkey legs but since my freezer is full of chicken from my shopping trip to Costco I decided to use them instead.

Ingredients from my pantry

  • 4 to 6 chicken or turkey legs
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 5 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
  • 1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, well drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • Preparation:

Lightly grease the crockery liner of the slow cooker. Arrange the chicken or turkey legs in the slow cooker and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Combine the remaining ingredients; spoon over the chicken or turkey legs and turn to coat legs well. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours.
    Serves 4 to 6.

Crushed pineapple and chopped onions added

I added a few leftover potatoes that I had in the frig
