Charmingly Linda's Consignment Shop – 30% Off Everything Sale!

My favorite consignment shop is Charmingly Linda’s and she is having a big Memorial Day Sale, 3 days Everything is 30% off !  Earlier in the week I had stopped in and made a small purchase, and while there saw a pair of espadrilles that I liked but didn’t buy.  The next day I read about the sale on her Facebook post and made plans to go back on Thursday.

Linda has racks and racks of awesome designer women’s and men’s clothing, her boutique is warm and inviting and the customers are friendly.  After I completed my purchase I stayed a little longer assisting a few others with their selections.  For a short time I was a thrift fashion consultant, which was fun and just might become my second career.

I purchased the pink Joseph A Silk tank – $8.00

H&M Pencil Skirt – $8.00

Splendor! Skirt – new with tags ($58.00) – purchased for $12.00

Bakers – $19.00 – I love the beaded straps!

Purse (no tags) – $9.00

rock flower paper espadrilles – $9.00

Jewelry and accessories are included in the 30% off sale

Scarves and belts

Assisting a customer with evening wear

Accessorizing the dress

OOTD – BoHo Blue

Yea, today is my “FRI-YAY” because tomorrow I am off from work for my monthly staycation day.  Tayair and I will hit up the DMV early to renew his license and then have his car inspected.  I would love to go to the movies but  with schools being closed the last thing I want to do is stand in a long line for  MIB3, even though I want to see it – I love me some “Big Willy from Philly”!

I spent my lunch hour at Charmingly Linda’s Consignment Shop for her Memorial Days Blowout Sale and got some great buys that I will post later.  While there I assisted  a customer in selecting a dress and accessories for a wedding, it was a blast acting as a “fashion consultant”, it just might be my retirement career!

The official start of summer and yet it was another rainy overcast day, but we are blessed to have lived to see another one so the complaining stops here.  Have a fan-tab-u-lous day!

Phl17_tv Eye Opener "Win An iPad A Day" Contest – I WON ~ I WON ~ I WON

No offense to @PennyChic but this prize is much better than the XOXO Sunglasses that I won two weeks ago!!!! The amazing thing is, this is the most I’ve ever won at any given time in my entire life – I better play Powerball this month too!

I started watching Eye Opener on Phl17 about a month ago because it was enjoyable news – an oxymoron, but true. I often wondered if I was too “old” to be watching Marlie Hall, Sean, Danielle, Oliver and Nerissa in the morning as opposed to the anchors on NBC10 and The Today Show, but after seeing Larry Mendte and Rose, I knew I wasn’t because they are older than me – sorry guys! It is refreshing to watch a news program that not only provides the latest local and national news and weather but also info on beauty, fashion, food, drinks of the day, car insurance, techie news, Hollywood fluff, and other good stuff. It has become a family affair with my youngest son watching before he leaves for school and my oldest watching as I leave for work. My morning commute is an hour and a 1/2 of non-stop traffic so the last thing I need is to be in the car in a bad mood, but thanks to Eye Opener that never happens.

I was told that over 3000 people entered last week’s contest so I feel blessed to have been chosen a winner. Every day for a week, right before breakfast when the “word of the day” was given, I would write it down on a post-it note and put in my eyeglass case so that I wouldn’t forget to enter it online – an old lady move that paid off!

Thanks Phl17-TV EyeOpener!!!

OOTD – Paisley Pink and Animal Print

When I saw this jacket at Goodwill I knew I had to have it even though it’s a size medium and a bit snug .  Initially I thought about pairing it with a pair of pants or jeans but nothing I had seemed right.    I was thinking of wearing it over a solid brown dress but then saw this dress hanging next to it screaming, “pick me pick me” and it turned out to be a better choice.  Adding the animal print shoes was the icing on the cake , I love this outfit and the weather is definitely conducive to wear it – see how the breeze catches my dress in the first shot.

Rotisserie Chicken Day 2

In our house a store bought Rotisserie Chicken is always a two day meal.  The leftover chicken is usually cut up, covered with a cream soup and mushrooms then served over rice.  Today a co-worker gave me a recipe that added a twist and it was an easy, breezy dinner that the family enjoyed.

Ingredients:

Rotisserie Chicken ~ Package of Frozen Broccoli ~ Can of Cream of Mushroom/Chicken soup ~ 3 tablespoons of mayo ~ 3 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice ~ shredded cheese

I didn’t have lemon juice so I used lime

Added 3 tablespoons of mayo to a can of cream of chicken soup

Added 3 tablespoons of lime juice

Mixed thoroughly

Steamed the broccoli according to package then layered in casserole dish

Cut up leftover chicken over top of broccoli

Poured mayo mixture over chicken and broccoli

I grated Pepper Jack cheese because I didn’t have a bag of shredded cheddar cheese

Placed in a pre-heated oven set on 350~ and cooked for 30 mins. Last 5 mins turned oven to broil to give it a crispy top

Served over Jasmine rice

Dinner is served
