Hello Friends, I have a question for you, what is your favorite night of the week? For me it is definitely Friday nights because after I get home and have dinner it’s time to sit back and relax and have some “pamper me” time.
Pedicures and facials are my all time favorite at home spa treatments and last week I had the opportunity to review the Dead Sea Mud Mask by Pure & Essential Minerals. As part of this Tomoson campaign I received a product code so that I could place an order for a jar of the Dead Sea Mud Mask directly from Amazon.com.
The night before receiving the Dead Sea Mud Mask I got a confirmation email which also contained detailed instructions on how to apply the product. After dinner I was anxious to get started, so I grabbed my head band, removed my make-up with a cleansing cloth then washed my face with warm water.
After washing my face and patting it dry I began applying the Dead Sea Mud Mask. I only put on a medium layer making sure to avoid my eyes and lips, then washed my fingers. I was surprised that it went on smoothly with no gritty feeling which is common in some mud masks.
I immediately smelled the Eucalyptus Oil, which gave me a slight tingling sensation, yet there was no major skin irritation or redness and all the other ingredients are organic in nature.
I kept the mask on for 15 minutes, and while waiting I read the side of the jar which contained facts about the Dead Sea. Interesting fact: The Dead Sea is located between Israel and Jordan and is 1400 feet below sea level which is the lowest point on the earth’s surface.
The Dead Sea Mud Mask is supposed to draw out impurities, toxins and excess oils to leave the skin feeling soft and clean. Dead Sea minerals nourishes and restores skin’s vitality, stimulates and improves blood circulation, resulting in a wonderful glow.
After 15 minutes I rinsed my face with warm water using circular motions to exfoliated the skin, then used the wash cloth to remove some remaining mud. It was a quick and non messy process that made my face feel smoother even the next morning I noticed a difference.
I splashed my face with cold water which seals the pores, used a little moisturizer then poured a glass of Sweet Red. This is definitely going to be part of my Friday night “pamper me” regiment to keep my skin silky smooth all summer long.
What is your favorite “pamper me” time product?

Between the date you were born and the date you die
there is a dash –
How Will You Be Remembered?
What do you want people to remember most about you?
Were you kind and honest….trustworthy and forgiving?
Did you spew hatred and untruths or did you speak with love and kindness.
Were you a hard worker, a good friend, a fantastic lover?
What will you be remembered for between the dash?

Hello Friends and Welcome to the Weekend – oh, how I love the sound of that word…weekend…weekend…weekend! I know that I previously stated that I was going to enjoy each day to the fullest and not live solely for the weekend, but it’s so hard not to especially in the summer! Can you believe we are already at the end of the first week of June?
By now most of you have probably already seen or read the reviews for the #GoVoxBox from Influenster, so I am not going to go into great details, however, I did want to share my opinion on a few of the products.
Did I hear somebody say they don’t know about Influenster?
“Influenster is a community of trendsetters, social media masterminds, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. VoxBoxes are boxes filled with complimentary products from your favorite (or soon-to-be-favorite) brands. Not all Voxboxes are created equal: some programs feature an assortment of products while others will spotlight one awesome brand. But make no mistake: All VoxBoxes are created awesome.”
Their words not mine, but if you want to be a part of this community go to www.influenster.com and sign up.
Now on to the #GoVoxBox Review
PROFOOT Triad Orthotic – I haven’t tried them yet, however, I have used orthotics in the past with great results of foot pain relief – no rating
Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons – I am in menopause and have no need for this product so I gave it to my girlfriend’s daughter – no rating
Aqua Spa Relax Body Cream – the lavender fragrance is so calming and the lotion is not sticky or greasy. I love putting it on my feet after a pedicure bath and on my body after a shower – A
PROFOOT Pedi-Rock – this pumice is by far the best I’ve ever used. It is soft and large enough to handle well, removes calluses without a lot of effort, dries quickly and can be used either wet or dry – A
Blue Diamond Almonds Blueberry Flavored – a double Super Food which is rich in Antioxidant Vitamin E, low in sodium at 35 mg and a great mid-afternoon snack – A
The VitaminShoppe Next Step Meal Replacement Shake – is by far the best that I have ever tasted. There were 3 flavored packs, French Vanilla, Swiss Chocolate and Berry as well as a 20oz JAXX Shaker Cup. I used a pack, added 8 oz of water and ice and it kept me full until dinner with no hunger pangs or in-between meal cravings. A coupon for $5 off the Next Step purchase was also included – A+
Speaking of coupons the #GoVoxBox also contained one for a free container of Muller Greek and Corner Yogurt, which I got from Shoprite right before my blogging class. I don’t particularly care for Greek yogurts but with the added fruit it actually tasted good and filled me up, which is what I needed because I had missed dinner – A.
BTW – the Blogging Class was great, thank you DE Money School!
Which product would you most want to try?

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
Summer is the perfect time to eat lighter and healthier salads so when hubby brought home a jicama, I decided to try it in a new salad recipe. A jicama is a crispy, sweet, edible tuber that looks like a turnip but has the crispness of a pear. When choosing one from the produce department, select a small to medium one as they are sweeter than the larger variety.
This vegetable is popular in Mexican cuisine and the jicama‘s unique flavor is great in salads, salsas, and vegetable platters. Hubby read that they also inhibits the growth and spread of colon cancer to other areas of the body so I knew it would become a part of our regular diet.
Today’s Friday Foodie Feature
Summer Salad with Jicama and Pineappple
Ingredients:
Juice of 1 lime or use bottled lime juice
1 medium jicama – julienned
1/3 cup of finely chopped cilantro or 1 crushed cube of Knorr’s cilantro
1 cup of fresh cubed pineapple
After washing and peeling the jicama, cut it julienne style and mix it together with the lime juice, chopped cilantro and the pineapple chunks in a large bowl. Refrigerate an hour then serve – quick, easy, and nutritious!
I also checked online and found some other great recipes so I am looking forward to trying jicama in different dishes each week.
have you tried any new foods lately?

Hello Friends and Happy Thankful Thursday.
Today I can say that I am thankfully blessed for being steadily employed in Corporate America since 1984, and even though I was laid off in 2005, I am now a contractor for that same company. A job loss can be devastating in so many ways but today’s post is addressing the loss of a wardrobe style.
In the 80’s women were trying to get ahead in corporate America so the power suit became fashionable, and women dressed to impress in the workplace. The stand-out piece of the power suit was the jacket, often boxy and long, with big shoulder pads and worn with matching knee-length skirts.
In the 90’s, the power suit became a bit more relaxed and more colorful, the long boxy jackets got shorter and the shoulder pads smoothed down. I remember hubby buying me expensive suits although he knew I had a thrifter’s taste, or as it likes to call me “cheap”…anywho, a lot of those suits have been donated.
With the change in Corporate attire to Corporate Casual I no longer buy or thrift power suits. However, I do have one that I kept solely because of the color, and because of the color I choose not to wear it together as a suit, I had to break them up.
I broke them up and wore the jacket with a pencil skirt and polka dot top thrifted from Goodwill
I broke them up and wore the skirt with a sleeveless tank thrifted from Goodwill
Earring and necklace set from Avon
Color block purse was purchased at Spence’s Bazaar, a flea market in Dover
Breaking up a suit is not hard to do and it actually gives you more wardrobe options.
What are your thoughts?
Color block flats are from CitiTrends
Necklace was new, thrifted from Goodwill
Today I am also thankful for my family, friends and of course my faith. I am extremely thankful that this color has come back in style and the suit still fits!
What are you thankful for this week?
Have a great day and we’ll chat tomorrow.

Hello friends, I trust you all are having a wonderful Wednesday. Some of you may or may not know that I have very fine and thin hair which unfortunately has been getting thinner as the years progress. I want to chalk it up to heredity because my primary physician as well as a dermatologist couldn’t diagnose the “root” cause – no pun intended.
At first I thought it was stress induced from being a caregiver to my grandmother, but she has since passed, 5 years now and my hair still hasn’t gotten thicker. I’ve had blood work and thyroid tests completed and nothing out of the ordinary was found, but it hasn’t stopped me from trying various hair re-growth products.
Recently, I had an opportunity to test a Biotin Vegetarian Capsule and Vibrance Vitamins from eunatural.com. Biotin is a vitamin that aids in hair growth and strong nails. I ordered it directly from Amazon.com and am currently in my 2nd week. There are only slight changes in the thickness of my hair, however, I will continue with the regiment and keep you posted on the results.
What do you use to keep your hair healthy and strong?

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday. Thank you all who voted in last week’s “You Choose The Shoes” contest. Although both pairs were great for that outfit, there was one clear winner, the well worn Glo Wedges from Kmart!
This week’s contenders are also well worn closet staples, I don’t even remember from where I purchased the SRO Red Mule Sandals.
SRO Venice Red Mules Sandals
Black Mossimo Black Sandals from Target
This comfy geometric gauze dress was thrifted from Goodwill and is perfect to wear to work or running errands on the weekend.
These Red Mules matches the patio furniture cushions but the nail polishes are definitely clashing – what do you think?
So which pair do you choose?
Black Mossimo Sandals
– or –
Venice Red Sandals?
Today I’m hanging out with Whitney at her Personal Style LinkUp so come on over and check it out.
This evening I will be teaching another Blogging class for The Money School of Delaware (Monetizing Your Blog) so have a great day and we’ll chat tomorrow!

Hello Friends, when you’re heading out for brunch with hubby or lunch with the ladies do you find choosing just the right thing to wear a daunting task? Do you open your closet door, stare inside and say, “I have nothing to wear?” Well when hubby and I decided to head to Aqua Sol for Sunday Brunch, I knew exactly what I was going to wear.
This Polka Dot Sheath dress from Midnight Velvet was perfect for an afternoon at the Marina. Sleeveless with a side zipper made it comfortable enough for sitting in the sun and the polyester/spandex blend made it stretchable enough to enjoy a meal without it being too tight afterwards.
I chose to wear my “caliente” pumps to match the red belt which gave it more of a colorful pop.
As part of Midnight Velvet’s Summer 2014 catalog this dress is definitely a confident summer style with pizzazz. The side pockets were a nice added feature and perfectly sized to drop in my cell phone.
Now to assist you with the “I have nothing to wear” dilemma, Midnight Velvet has offered to give one of my lucky readers at $50 Midnight Velvet Gift Certificate. This Rafflecopter giveaway will end at midnight on June 30th, so hurry and enter today.
