Festive Holiday Sweater Party for A Good Cause with Goodwill
Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday
Can you believe that there are only 8 days until Christmas? Considering I haven’t started decorating or even shopped it’s definitely going by way too fast for me, I really need to get on the ball.
How about you, have you finished shopping and decorating? Are you baking and cooking up a storm? Are your weekends filled with parties and festivities? If not, why not host a holiday party of your own, a Festive Holiday Sweater Party it’s fun and is also for a good cause.
We all have old holiday sweaters from previous years. What if you could give those sweaters a new life and help support community programs in the process?
Through the AdCouncil’s campaign with Goodwill®, they have developed a new holiday resource that helps you do just that! It’s called Snapguide and it shows you how to host a Festive Holiday Sweater Party using clothing you already have or new clothes purchased from your local Goodwill.
The Snapguide walks you through the steps of hosting a holiday sweater party – from finding the perfect sweater to fit your personality using Goodwill’s online quiz and then getting outfitted at your local Goodwill store. After the party is over all your guests donates the sweaters back to support Goodwill’s mission in providing job training and community services to people in need.
All donations to Goodwill are charitable tax-deductions, including the festive holiday sweaters you donate back. Use Goodwill’s locator tool to find the nearest Goodwill location and the Donation Impact Calculator, shows how every item you give supports people who are seeking to earn jobs and build careers.
On Sunday I headed to our local Goodwill store on Kirkwood Highway and found some really nice sweaters for both men and women – what do you think? They can be jazzed up with holiday decorations or worn just as is.
Your Festive Holiday Sweater Party can be as casual or as glam as you’d like but I guarantee you will find something to fit the bill.
Last year, Goodwill provided employment training, job placement, financial education, youth mentoring and more to 6.7 million people in the United States and Canada. To see how the process works, just watch this “How We Do It PSA” and I’ll get to decorating!
Have a blessed day and don’t forget to share it – Smooches!
Such a Great idea for next year Xmas party. You have not decorated your house yet? It’s not too late….you just won’t get to enjoy them as long. I wish You & yours a Joyous Holiday!
I know, isn’t it a fun way to give back or pay it forward going into the new year. I am going to get a smaller tree either tonight or tomorrow and decorate on Saturday – and they will stay up until Valentine’s Day!!! Have a terrific Tuesday.
Cool idea! I Also like that last sweater featured.
Yes, thank you it was also my favorite as well. Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday.
I liked so many of the tops you showed us…good thing I wasn’t there…I would of convinced you to buy them all☺ We have a store called “Bealls” down in Florida, and last night I purchased a shirt for my husband and when she went to ring it up she asks, “Are you “Fab 50?” I just stared blankly at her…then she says, Are you 50 and over? Yes, I tell her. Afterwards, I look at my receipt and had gotten another 20% off…yippee!
#Winning I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a bargain. Are you all ready to celebrate the holidays with lil man – I know it’s going to be wonderful and I can’t wait to see all the fantastic pics.
Love, love, love that first red sweater!!
Yes, and did you notice the little elf I stuffed in the pocket – I found him sitting on a shelf and used it as a prop.
Actually it’s a snowman…not an elf – lol
This is a good idea, for next year. LOL! The holiday season came so quick, I’m so not ready. Great sweaters you picked out.

Yes it did, but you do some much for GW with all your thrifting that you are probably supporting a small village! Happy Wednesday.
Aww, thanks!! Same to you…we definitely love our GW! 🙂
Need some glitter on a sweater for the holiday season!
When I was I kid we used to put up the tree on Christmas Eve – its the traditional way but now it seems quite odd when Christmas starts in November!
You are reading my mind…that is going to be my post for Tuesday because it is probably when the tree will go up! Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!
