We’ve all made New Year’s resolutions, some we keep others we forget about well before the first signs of Spring. Over the years I’ve resolved to quit smoking, lose weight, exercise more and work less…unfortunately I’ve only managed to keep one, but fortunately it was the one to quit smoking (yay me). This year I’m adding another resolution to my list, and that’s staying in touch more with our family’s oldest living elder.
My aunt “Chuggy” lives in Virginia Beach and she has always been very supportive of me and all my endeavors. She is now 80 years old, so in 2015, I am resolving to call her at least once every week. I signed up with the lowest priced unlimited plan with Walmart Family Mobile so I will also be saving money. The starter kit is $25.00 but there is no contract to sign nor a long term agreement to maintain. #winning
Hubby and I drove to Walmart SuperCenter to check out their Family Mobile Plan and the ZTE ZMAX Phablet which is a cross between a smart phone and a tablet, and it’s currently on sale for $179.00. The plan is only $34.88/month for Unlimited Talk, Text, & Web ($29.88 for the second line) and it comes with 5GB of 3G Data, the plan can be cancelled at any time with no penalty. The higher speed allows me to do even more including sending text messages, photos and even videos which I am sure Aunt Chuggy will love getting.
The ZTE ZMAX Phablet has a perfect sized screen so I can read the menus and see the apps without my glasses which is another plus. Checking email on the go and taking selfies will be also be a breeze!
I started using the some of the other apps including Evernote which helps with my blog schedules and posts so the ZTE ZMAX Phablet is definitely a welcomed addition to my family and saving money with the Walmart Family Mobile Plan is just icing on the cake!
I know, I know, no cake in the new year because once again I’ll try to lose some weight however, right now my first resolution is to stay in touch with Aunt Chuggy.
Have you made your New Year’s resolution yet?
I bet you will make your auntie so happy! Does she know you just committed online?
Kymberly, yes it will and I can’t wait for my cousin to show her the post – she is going to be tickled pink!!! Happy New Year my dear.
Hey Toni. I love that resolution and the pictures.
Thanks Robynn, can you believe that Aunt Chuggy (Gleneve) is 80 years old??? Happy New Year cuz!

Isn’t she though – and looking good at 80! Have a blessed day my dear.
Family means everything to me and I love being around them. Enjoy Aunt Chuggy and make 2015 your year. I am so glad you are a part of my Blog Family.
My blog sistah, thank you so very much for sharing part of your life with me, I am grateful and blessed to have connected with you. Happy holidays and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! LOVE AND KISSES!
Don’t you just LOVE the Zmax phablet? It’s perfect for me. I need to make sure my mom has my new number so we can stay connected, too!
Dianna, it is so much better than my Samsung and I still need to read the book but yes, I do love it! Make sure to give mom that number – no excuses – lol
What a fabulous resolution. My kids have decided they want to send more letters to their cousins. We’re going to start writing letters and mailing them out in the new year. #client
Danielle, that is such a great idea, I remember having a pen pal in Japan when I was in elementary school and I loved sending and receiving cards from her once a month. Enjoy and Happy New Year.
Very sweet gesture and your Auntie looks amazing!

Thank you and I wish you much happiness and success in the new year!
CONGRATULATIONS for quitting smoking! SUPER YAY!! I did the same 10 years ago so I’m sending you tons of virtual hugs for doing that.
Your Aunt looks like an awesome lady and glad that you plan to regularly touch base with her. I looked at the Walmart plans before and almost took it but eventually chose another one. Their plans are truly attractive.
Yay you too – 10 years ago, that is awesome, I am in my 6th year. Aunt Chuggy is such a sweet person so it’s enjoyable talking to her. I like this phablet and may be giving up my Samsung soon!
Great post! I love that you’re using this to keep in touch with family; what better way to love someone. Aunt Chuggy (love the name, do share how this came to be) is very lucky.
C. Lee, thanks, actually her name is Gleneve, named after her brother, Glen. But I think one of her siblings couldn’t pronounce ‘Gleneve” so he called her “chuggy” and the name stuck!
