Sunrise & Sunset From The Back Deck
Hello Friends and Happy Monday
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are up and at ’em for a terrific week ahead. I’m usually up at 6:00 a.m. but never home before 6:00 p.m, which is why I can catch a weekday sunrise but not a sunset. However, thanks to last week’s snow storm, I was able to catch them both from my back deck.
Behind me and to my left the sun is rising but in order to get a good shot and not one of me squinting, I had to step forward a bit.
Now with the holidays approaching I begin to think and miss my sister and grandmother even more. I have a hat box full of jewelry including brooches and pins that once belonged to them so I decided to wear two of them together in their honor.
These Route 66 knee high suede boots were purchased several years ago at Kmart. I keep them dry and clean by spraying them with a rain&stain guard protector from Payless.
Which do you prefer, a sunrise or a sunset?
Remember the song, “These boots were made for walking” by Nancy Sinatra? You may be too young and if you are, here it is on YouTube.
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!
Work it Mama!!! xoxo
Thank you my dear – I’m trying…Happy Monday!
I love those brooches, they are beautiful. Nancy Sinatra’s greatest hits made a great comeback in Scandinavia a couple of years ago and I really like her songs:)
Wow, it amazing how everything old becomes new again. I remember songs from her father, Frank Sinatra but only remember this one hit by her. Enjoy the rest of your day/night!
Wearing the pins was a splendid idea…aah, memories…they do creep up on us don’t they? Merry Christmas.
Yes they do and this year it seems to be a bit more because I am not in the holiday spirit and haven’t done any decorating…. Have a wonderful week my dear.
You look Great here and those memories are too good to let loose, keep them close and be forever grateful that you got to spend time with your loved ones. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Thank you, yes being with the family is always most important and I am sure neither my grandmother nor my sister would want me to be sad…but I am! Have a wonderful week ahead.
Thank you my dear!
I like sunrise. It is so refreshing to me
Yes, the dawning of a new day….
And now the Tina tune is in my head – there are worse songs that’s for sure! I adore the brooches – even more once you shared their special meaning.
XO
I know what you mean, now every time I put on a pair of boots that song fills my head. I hope you had a great Monday.
I did thank you! It was one of those days that made it very clear what is really important – sometimes that kind of a reminder can be very cathartic!
Smooches!
I’d have to say it really depends…IF I am awake enough to appreciate it, you just can’t beat a good sunrise. Of course, on a warm summer evening, there’s nothing like a stunning sunset either. You look fabulous in that outfit!
Thank you sweetie. I would love to see the sun rise but I am such a sleepy head so sunsets are my favs. My sons think I am crazy when I rush home to catch them from the back deck. Have a wonderful night!
I do, indeed, remember These Boots Are Made for Walkin’. 🙂 And I prefer sunset. Mornings have not been easy for me all my life. Guess I’m just a night person.
Oh yes dear… these boots are made for walking! You rock it!
PS. I want some snow please!
Thank you – sending you some virtual snowballs right now!
Awww…very beautiful!! Love them~ Thank you for sharing!
Cheers~ 😀
And thank you!
You’re welcome, my friend! Cheers~ 😀
That sweater dress totally compliments your figure, you look fantastic!
Thank you and I love your blog – a new follower here!
Congrats on your Versatile Blogger nomination!
Thank you!
I love sunsets, the colors of the sky never cease to amaze me. stay warm 🙂
Me too but it’s because I am not a morning person so if it weren’t for the fact that my son and I have to get up, I would never see a sunrise! Tomorrow is supposed to be 70 degrees – #breakouttheshorts NOT!
