Disclosure: I was provided a sample of the Luis The Marinero Sangria to facilitate this review, however, all opinions are 100% my own. Drink Responsibly. #luisthemarinero #sangriasummer #ad
Family fun in the sun with backyard pool parties and lots of food on the grill are great ways to kick off this year’s summer season. So why not make the days even sweeter with a Summer Sangria Slush and enter for a chance to win an authentic Sangria pitcher from Spain.
Luis The Marinero Sangria wine was recently introduced exclusively in Delaware, New York and New Jersey and when my friends over at Regal Wine asked if I’d like to toast in the summer with a sample, you know me…I had to say, “sí”
I checked online and found several Sangria Slush recipes but decided to make a simple three ingredient slush using the Red Sangria, Ice and Watermelon.
1 Cup Red Sangria
1 Cup Ice
1/3 Cup of Watermelon
Combine Sangria Red wine, ice cubes, and watermelon in a blender; process until smooth. Serve immediately or freeze. This quick and naturally sweet (sans sugar) summer slush got me in and out of the kitchen in a jiffy.
Enjoy a Sangria Summer
This authentic Spanish sangria is the perfect beverage for a sunny afternoon. Infused with citrus and cinnamon, Luis the Marinero is light on alcohol and refreshing in taste. Try it in red, white, and rosé.
Regal Wine will select one winning photograph each week, from June through August, and post winners on Facebook and Instagram.

Happy Labor Day 2014, the unofficial end of the summer (BOO!!!). I can’t remember a summer flying by as fast as this one did, how about you?
So what are your plans for the grill today? It’s going to be a gorgeous day here in Delaware so I’ll be outside cooking later this afternoon. However, if you are staying indoors but still want grilled hot dogs you might want to try this tasty recipe.
I used Jennie-Oturkey products because we don’t eat pork and not a lot of beef. I wrapped a slice of turkey bacon around each hot dog then secured them with two toothpicks.
Pour a little olive oil in the skillet and allow the bacon wrapped dogs to cook for approximately 15 minutes, turning to keep them from burning.
Once the bacon is crispy, add chopped onions and peppers, turn heat on low allowing the peppers and onions to soften for a few minutes longer.
Remove toothpicks and turn hot dogs to ensure they are thoroughly cooked. In the meantime, toast your bun.
“Dress your bun” with your choice of condiments add chips or fries and enjoy!
What is your favorite way to cook hot dogs?
Can’t forget to include a little adult beverage, remember to drink responsibly!
Liberty Creek is one of my favorite wines so I am honored to work with them in sharing this information with you!
Liberty Creek® Vineyards Supports Operation Gratitude in Holiday Drive to Bring Music to Troops Overseas
Liberty Creek Vineyards is teaming up with Operation Gratitude to provide holiday cheer through the power of music to US military members serving overseas. Compilation CDs featuring holiday classics sung by top country crooners will serve to lift spirits, boost morale and provide comfort to service members far from home during the holiday season as part of the “Tunes for Troops” program. A Liberty Creek donation will enable Operation Gratitude to include the CDs in the care packages they send to troops around the world, for whom “home for the holidays” is not an option. Liberty Creek’s holiday drive began October 1st and will run through the end of the year. Consumers can contribute to the holiday drive by visiting LibertyCreekWine.com and entering the unique code found on specially tagged bottles of Liberty Creek Wine. In exchange for the support, Liberty Creek will donate $1.00 per code to Operation Gratitude, up to $10,000. Operation Gratitude will use this donation to provide the specially created holiday music compilation CDs. “At Liberty Creek Vineyards, we view the holiday season as a time to cherish what we have and give back to those who are in need of a boost during this time,” says Michael Shastid, Brand Marketing Specialist, Liberty Creek Vineyards. “We are honored to be joining Operation Gratitude in giving back to the US troops who give so much of themselves for us every day.” Operation Gratitude sends care packages and letters personally addressed to U.S. Service Members and wounded warriors, and believes music makes the packages even more meaningful.
“’Tunes for Troops’ is such an important part of our efforts, as music has the power to soothe, comfort and lift spirits among our troops, especially during the most difficult times to be away from loved ones,” says Carolyn Blashek, Founder of Operation Gratitude. “Liberty Creek’s continued support facilitates our ability to support US military members and to show our appreciation for the sacrifices they make.” For more information about Liberty Creek Wine and their program to support Operation Gratitude, please visit www.LibertyCreekWine.com.
