WIWW – 26th Wedding Anniversary

On Thursday, August 11th, hubby and I celebrated our 26th Wedding Anniversary. I feel so blessed to be with a man who loves, respects and still excites me.

Years ago we purchased a Marriott Timeshare in Orlando and as a family we would spend our Anniversary week there. However, now that the boys or should I say, “mini men” are older and are actively working it’s hard for each of us to coordinate and schedule a week off.

We also sold the Marriott Timeshare to Lifestyles Holidays Vacation Resort so hopefully, we will head back to the DR (Dominican Republic) before the end of the year. We had a great time last year, remember this post

Sunset and Sunrise in the Dominican Republic

Anywho, hubby and I now like to have quiet dinners together and this year he made reservations at Eclipse Bistro in Wilmington. I decided to take the day off as I had an appointment with my son earlier in the day and then a scheduled mani and pedi at Sunlight Salon.

I wore this top with a pair of capri pants and just now remembered that it was exactly what I wore when we flew to the Dominican Republic last June!

I didn’t wear these sandals, but fell in love with when I saw them at the Rainbow Shops. I actually purchased a second pair in my favorite color combination black and white.

Our dinner reservations were at 7:00 so I had plenty of time to relax before heading out and this is what we decided to wear.

clothes from Burlington Coat Factory

Both hubby and I wore “Burlington Coat Factory” He found this and two other sports jackets on clearance for only $19.99 each and my dress was also on clearance for only $14.99 #winning  BTW – it’s machine washable on delicate!!!!

Dinner and the service at Eclipse Bistro was amazing and if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you would have seen some of the delicious foodie pics.

celebrating 26 years of marriage

What do you think, we look pretty good for an old married couple!

Anniversary Dinner at Chesapeake Inn Restaurant & Marina

Last week I asked hubby if we where going out to dinner for our Anniversary and if so, where?  He suggested Ali Baba in Newark but I wanted something more elegant however, didn’t offer an alternative.   Leaving the house a decision still hadn’t been made but it didn’t matter because hubby needed to break his fast (Ramadan), so he grabbed a box of Triscuits and we decided as we drove down the driveway.

The Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City, Maryland is close to home and elegant enough to celebrate a Wedding Anniversary. Hubby was in a better mood once he had a piece of warm bread and a cup of hot tea. (old man) – lol.   The Chesapeake Inn has been in operation for several years, I still remember my first time there, they had Steak TarTar as an appetizer, now raw meat is no longer a menu option nor a healthy eating choice.   The Inn overlooks the C&D Canal with small boats and mini yachts docked as the owners drink and socialize on the deck below the Dining Room.   There is also a separate entrance to a club with live music where adults can drink (responsively) and party the night away. Our server, Julie was fantastic and the salads and entrees were excellent.  Hubby had a Red Oak Salad and Stuffed Flounder, I had the Cobb Salad and Maryland Rockfish which was served with rice and perfectly steamed squash and zucchini.  The Cobb Salad was large but contained only small traces of fresh crab meat.  For dessert I ordered Peach Cobbler a la Mode but it contained a bit too much cinnamon for my liking.  Hubby ordered a slice of Red Velvet Cake and along with half of my  entree we took it home, it was awesome the next day.

It was a perfect Anniversary Dinner and we look forward to another 22 years of marriage!

OOTD – Happy Monday

Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable weekend. Hubby and I went to dinner at the Chesapeake Inn in Maryland to celebrate our 22nd Wedding Anniversary. The meal was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant so we had a  nice evening as an old married couple sans our sons.

Today’s outfit is autumn-like in it’s coloring yet summer-like in it’s fabric and comfortable enough for today’s 87 degree weather.  The Octavia Thai Silk open-toe-pumps were on clearance for $12.97, and on the RocketDog website, they are listed for $59.95!
