Hello friends and welcome to the 2015 “Wear Red for Women” OOTD LinkUp.
Robin and I have been excited all week in anticipation of this day, not only because it brings awareness to women and heart disease, but also because it is our first linkup!
We started the week with Good for the Soul Soulfood recipes and ways in which to eat healthier, lowering sodium and cutting back on red meat. The alarming statistics explains why it is so very important to be heart healthy, so today we’re celebrating each other by wearing red and taking the pledge to keep ours healthy all year long.

Hello friends, and welcome to the #WWDParty!
This has definitely been a busy week which is one of the reasons why this post is a day late…”better late than never”. Anywho, last weekend I was in Philly at the SITSGirls Bloggy Boot Camp and if you didn’t get a chance to read the highlights you can do so by clicking here.
I am also in somewhat of a somber mood as tomorrow, September 14th marks the 22nd Anniversary of the death of my sister, Gloria so I will be heading down to Dover to visit her grave-site.

August should be the month of “tailwinds” because it seems like the summer is flying by!
For some of you school is back in session and perhaps you are doing the “happy dance“. Our youngest leaves for Bowie State University on the 27th, and I am stocking up on the Kleenex!

Can you believe that this is the last weekend in July, where in the world is the summer going? Sunday we are taking our youngest to Bowie State University where he will spend 3 days for Freshman Orientation and placement testing. I vow to stay strong and not cry, as I am storing up my tears for August!

This has been such a wonderful week and I can’t believe that some of you may be gearing up for “BACK TO SCHOOL” – I know the sales and television commercials are in full swing.
Next Saturday we may drive over the bridge to Jersey to do some shopping at Cowtown Flea Market Just to pick up a few things before Malik leaves for his 3-day Freshman Orientation at Bowie State University.
Tayair has returned to work at the UDairyCreamery but is still on a liquid diet so I made him an ice cream float to break up the monotony of pureed foods and soups.

Hello Friends and Welcome to the Weekend Wind-Down Party!
I am definitely enjoying all of your posts with mouth-watering recipes, fabulous fashions, cool crafts and wise words of wisdom. I am not a baker but some of you ladies have inspired me so I wanted to share some cookies that I made last week.
At Walmart I noticed a new line of cookie mix from Pillsbury and for only $1.00 so you know I had to try them out, and the frosting was only $1.48.
With only a few ingredients, these Orangesicle Cookies were absolutely delicious!
After the butter was room temperature soft, I mixed it with an egg and the cookie mix then rolled into balls.
Baked for the suggested time but then added a few minutes for them to darken. After they cooled for 15 minutes, I frosted and sprinkled these delicious cookies – thank you Pillsbury!
A tall glass of milk or even a refreshing glass of summer tea (recipe) makes this a wonderful weekend treat!
