The Sugar n Spice Voxbox that I received from Influenster contained a box of Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes. These towelettes are suppose to lift dirt and remove impurities from the skin without irritation. They contain 3 simple ingredients, Witch Hazel, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice and Sodium Benzoate which makes them oil free, non-drying and can be used on all skin types.
I’ve never had problem skin and only use makeup removal cloths so I asked my oldest son to test them as he suffers from occasional breakouts and teenage acne. Unlike my youngest, he is not particular with his grooming products so he agreed to help with the review. He used one towelette each morning for a week and this was his report:
Likes:
- didn’t irritate or sting his face
- didn’t make his face dry
- noticed his face was clearing
- great size to use on face and neck
- packaged great for travel
Dislikes:
- the smell, it didn’t stink but didn’t smell that great either -(Witch Hazel has always had a distinct odor)

I received the product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes, opinions are completely my own.

Hello Friends, I hope you are having a terrific Tuesday!
Recently, I read an article that had suggestions on the products that you should and should not buy at your local Dollar Stores. I agreed that buying party supplies and paper products was a good idea and with not buying toys which may contain high levels of lead. Purchasing cleaning supplies saves money, but I only buy name brands because some of the others are watered down which makes them a waste of money.
The only statement in the article that I did not agree with was that food items should never be purchased. Granted there are some items in a Dollar/99 Cents store that shouldn’t be purchased because of it’s obvious non-compliance with FDA’s regulations, however, there are a lot of products that I would and have bought at Dollar Tree stores.
The state of the economy has forced us all to be more frugal but my sons are trying to eat me out of house and home! They are always snacking and can easily polish off a large bag of chips in one sitting…wonder where they got that from (lol). Therefore, I am always on the hunt, usually with coupons in hand, in search of snacks that they will eat and be satisfied without breaking the bank.
That’s where Dollar Tree comes in, and it has always been my “go to” store for snacks, even when the boys were small, it was the place to stop before going to the movies. Not all products are sold in all stores and I was surprised with what I found in their freezer section, taking note that packaging was clearly marked Made in the USA, (The Bronx, NY, Altoona, PA, Pennsauken, NJ and Rancho Cucamonga, CA). There are many name brand products made specifically for non-grocery type stores as evidenced by their sizes, however, the quality remains the same and manufacturer’s coupons are accepted.
Turkey Creek Snacks – Pork Rinds/Chicharron (for me)
Pennysticks Brand Pretzels
David Sunflower Seeds
Utz Onion and Garlic Potato Chips
Popcorn Indiana Sea Salt Popcorn
Luigi’s Italian Ice
Baker Best Soft Pretzels
Golden Krust Jamaican Patties
Sapphire Teriyaki Noodles and Vegetables
Our Foods Orange and Teriyaki Chicken
Do you shop at dollar stores, and if so, what do you buy?
Thank you Jennifer and Christine at store # 3730, Beaver Brook Plaza, New Castle, DE, for a pleasant shopping experience. The shelves were fully stocked and the store was very well maintained!
BTW – don’t forget to complete the customer survey on the back of the receipt to enter their sweepstakes!
~~ ALL OPINIONS ARE SOLELY MY OWN – I WAS NOT CONTACTED BY DOLLAR TREE NOR ANY PRODUCT MANUFACTURER FOR AN ENDORSEMENT ~~

Hello friends, I hope you had a good weekend.
In your area you may have noticed that some businesses have added convenience features to attract new customers or to increase the satisfaction of their current ones. Food Lion recently installed an MVP Savings Center kiosk that prints out coupons specifically designed for their shoppers based upon previous purchases. Once you swipe your MVP Card or key in your telephone number the kiosk prints a personalized sheet of coupons that must be used the same day. Our last name was incorrectly spelled on the sheet but it didn’t matter because as a coupon clipper these added savings definitely helped with my grocery budget.
I was there to pick up a few items so I only used two coupons, $1.00 off Oreo Cookies and $1.00 off two packages of Oscar Mayer lunch meat both of which were on sale which was a double savings. The personalized savings sheet also included a $4.00 off /$45.00 spent coupon which would have come in handy had this been one of my weekly grocery shopping trips.
PNC Bank has also updated their ATMs, with the acceptance of cash deposits which is a plus for people with Home Based or Direct Sale businesses. There are times when an Avon customer pays in cash and I’d like to deposit the money instead of spending it, now I can. I’ve read that there are ATMs that will dispense coins, a feature for those who may not have a hefty account and needs just a little cash to get through the day or week.
Small changes that make a big difference is a win-win for everyone!

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday
There are only a few traces of yesterday’s snow and according to the meteorologist, Mother Nature will be having a hot flash so all that remains will be melted by Friday. It’s tough for people not to accept the existence of Global Warming especially with all of these varying weather conditions around the world. Al Gore has been speaking out for years, now just maybe people will take him more seriously. Okay, stepping down off the soap box.
Most of you know that I love…love…love…shoes and will be the first to admit that I have too many, but it’s not something new, I have been a shoe lover since High School. I’ve always had to have the latest styles in different colors…pastel pinks…mellow yellow…aqua marine blue….heels…flats…sandals…boots – I loved them all. These days I don’t buy as many as I used to but when I find a bargain, I am on it like a heat seeking missile (remember the Target haul?) Because I have so many I can’t remember ever wearing the same pair two days in a row that was until today, this is the first time. There are two reasons for this, first I am still trying to get my closet in order and secondly, these Granny boots are comfortable and look cute with this outfit!
Boots – Ross // Animal Print Maxi Shirt – GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Cowl Neck Shirt – closet staple
Necklace and Earring Set – Jewelrymax.net – Snake and Crocodile Rings – Avon // Belt – Rainbow Shop
Earlier today, I received a nice surprise, I was chosen as this week’s Featured Blogger by Esther on her Frugal Living and More Totally Tuesday Blog Hop!
Hop on over and check her out for some great money saving coupons and deals!
THANK YOU ESTHER !!!
Have a fantabulous afternoon – Smooches!

Good Sunday Morning my Friends – I hope this the first day of the week is going well for you.
Sundays are normally the days that I do my grocery shopping, and I don’t head out without first checking the paper for coupons and sales. I was totally surprised when I saw this newly designed “Dollar Tree” insert, I had to do a double take and then asked hubby to look at it as well.
Is it true…is Dollar Tree no longer the place where “Everything Is A Dollar”? Is this why they started accepting manufacturer’s coupons? Is it in only certain areas? Say it isn’t so…I will definitely be checking it out before I go grocery shopping.

Tuesday evening I went to Walgreens because of their advertised sale on Butterball Turkey Bacon, 6 oz for $1.29, which is much cheaper than the grocery stores. My son usually eats 4 slices a day so this was definitely a money saver.
I first purchased a bottle of Revlon Nail Polish for $4.99 and received a $1.00 off with an in store coupon as well as a $3.00 off coupon for my next purchase . Armed with that coupon and my coupon caddy I checked the end caps for clearance items. There was Poise Cooling Gel and Poise Freshener, both marked down and with my coupons I paid .12 cents for each. My purchased also included Holiday Liquid Hand Soaps, marked $1.99 each or 2/$3.00, but with Rewards paid $1.09 each; Sally Hansen Nail Polish, $1.49 and a pack of Liners for a total cost of $13.44.
I am loving the Walgreens Rewards Program
Bottle of Revlon Polish – 3.99 with in store coupon and received $3.00 off next purchase
Poise Products – .12 cents each
5 packs of Butterball Turkey Bacon – $6.45
Total Cost – $13.44

Hello friends and Happy Sunday I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are anxiously looking forward to next week. This year we are not having a big Thanksgiving dinner because my son has to work and my mother-in- law is hospitalized battling intestinal cancer.
I ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this time, thank you.
Although we are not having a big Thanksgiving dinner I still needed to grocery shop and today it wasn’t a chore. I did however, feel sorry for some running around quickly filling their carts like crazy spending way too much!
My casual attire along with my casual attitude allowed me to better compare prices, use a lot of coupons and save a little money.
Jeans and top – Walmart // Color blocked loafers – Citi Trends // Scarf – Burlington Coat Factory
Have a fantabulous night – Smooches!

YA HEARD???
Just in time for back to school, beginning Sunday, 8/26, Dollar Tree will start accepting manufacturer’s coupons! Big news because all items sold in Dollar Tree stores are just $1, which means you’ll be able to get name brand products at an even greater discount by using coupons!

*No photo copy of coupons.
*Limit 2 Internet coupons per transaction.
*Do not accept coupons for “FREE” product or coupons where the amount for the product is blank.
*Coupons must be presented at time of purchase and can not be redeemed for cash at a later time.
*We will accept coupons subject to their terms only; such as expiration date, size and limitations.
*Coupon will not be accepted without the purchase of the item specified on the coupon.
*Coupons cannot be redeemed for more than the purchase of the item specified on the coupon.
*Only 1 Manufacturer coupon will be accepted per product in transaction.

I woke up Saturday to “Mom…mom…mom” while being poked in the back….”mom mom are we still going shoe shopping? Oh yea, that got me up and going, it was music to my ears. He actually wanted new sneakers but shoe shopping in any shape, fashion or form is a good day. I had two DSW coupons for $25.00 off my next purchase as well as a balance on a gift card so that’s where we were headed but first we stopped at Burlington Coat Factory. Malik is still on the Graduated License program for supervised driving so I was a passenger on this mission.
It’s a Good Day – my son is taking me shoe shopping!
He found a pair of Cadillac sneakers for $25.00 (yea Malik) but also 2 jackets and a watch, me…nothing but pictures which I will post later. I’m not sure if they are pairing down the shoe department or waiting for the Fall collections, but they really didn’t have anything that called out “buy me buy me”. The price of the sneakers and jackets wasn’t bad but the cashier asked if I would complete a phone survey, for which I would receive 20% off the highest priced item. Sure, so after completing the survey she re-rang one of the jackets saving me an additional $15.00. It’s a a Good Day!
Next we drove over to DSW, Malik didn’t find anything but I found a cute pair of Chinese Laundry suede pumps for less than $10.00! They were on clearance, 30% off $49.94, and using my two coupons and gift card nothing came out of my wallet, Saturday Shoe Shopping with Son was a VERY good day!!
Clearance $49.94 plus 30% off plus $25 off coupons = $9.96 – used gift card – paid $0
