Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world.
Do you remember wearing tie dye clothing in elementary and junior high school? I used to love this DIY craft but it always seemed so messy and time consuming. I’m not sure if the Rit Dye products have changed or that I just have more patience, either way, it’s not hard to do.
The hardest part was finding an article of clothing that I wanted to dye! I signed up to attend the Radiant Orchid Summer party so in preparation I wanted to have something to wear in radiant purple. I purchased a summer tank and canvas slip-on sneakers at Kmart and turned them from cotton white to a tie dye purple which came out really nice.
Add 1/2 cup of salt and a few squirts of dishwashing liquid to help fabric absorb dye.
Heat water to boiling. Dampen shirt with warm water then twist and wrap with rubber bands.
Pour boiled water into a tub, add package of Rit Dye, salt and dishwashing liquid then stir gently to dissolve. Make sure to cover your work surface with a plastic covering, I used a Dollar Tree tablecloth.
Put shirt into tub of water and allow to soak for at least 30 minutes, the longer you keep it in the darker the color will be.
For the canvas sneakers, I used a paint brush to cover the rubber sides with Vaseline to prevent dye from staining.
Use painters tape or masking tape which probably would have been better to add a stripe or patterns to the sneakers.
Use a sponge brush to lightly paint the canvas, you can go over it several times to make it darker, just take your time.
After soaking the shirt for the desired amount of time, carefully discard water, I poured mine into the toilet and immediately flushed to prevent staining.
Rinse shirt in cold water until it runs clear or take it outside and use a garden hose to rinse. I kept pouring my water into the toilet because it was late.
Wash in cold water using same color or old towels and two sheets of Shout Color Catchers.
While waiting for the shirt to wash, I added a little ‘Bling’ to the back of the sneakers using E6000 glue.
I hung the shirt to dry and wore it the next day to the #RadiantOrchidSummer party which you can read about here

Hello friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
Here we are again, at the end of another blessed week and knocking on the door to what should be a gorgeous weekend. Hubby and I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and on Sunday we will be taking our son out to dinner to celebrate his 22nd Birthday. His birthday was actually on Monday but if you read yesterday’s post you’d know that I was in Atlantic City so we didn’t get to celebrate. He is also scheduled to have maxillofacial surgery on Monday morning, so please pray for a successful procedure.
Take a look at these guys, I saw them on the Boardwalk in AC and thought about how much this means to me in my daily life.
So many of you stopped by to add some fantastic posts at last week’s party and we truly appreciate you all.
Congratulations to this week’s FEATURED Bloggers.

Hello friends and Happy Fri-Yay!! This has been a whirlwind week and despite the dreary weather I am so happy that the weekend is right around the corner. Several exciting events occurred this week and I’d like to share a few of them with you, the first was having another DIY article printed in @ParadeMagazine, (click here), Potpourri in a Jar ~ Flameless Fragrance. The second was being featured by Whitney Nic James, (click here) on her blog as a May pick in her weekly Personal Style Linkup.
I have also been very busy doing product reviews and will be heading to AC (Atlantic City) for an overnight stay which was a Perk from Crowdtap, definitely looking forward to that one. Tomorrow I’ll be driving back up to West Chester to attend the Radiant Orchard Summer Party hosted by Design+Life+Kids, so look for that recap on that next week. Sunday I plan on taking hubby to breakfast and then lounging poolside, what are your weekend plans?
Now let’s get this party started with CONGRATULATIONS to our FEATURED BLOGGERS

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
This is an old post but I think it’s worth repeating, especially as the weather warms.
If your face is naturally oily or perhaps you get that “afternoon glow” on your T-Zone, here’s a money-saving tip: don’t spend your money on store-bought cosmetic blotters, just grab a toilet seat cover and make your own.
If you are out and have to use a public restroom, grab a few of those toilet seat covers. When you get home cut them into small squares which you can then store in a small plastic sandwich bag, or envelope to keep in your purse or makeup bag.
Afternoon Glow?
Now you have your own home-made (FREE) blotting cloths.
What are some of your money saving beauty tips?
I hope to see you again this evening at 6:00 for the #WWDParty!

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday
I had a different post scheduled for today but decided to showcase my second DIY article which was published by Parade Magazine on Monday. Thanks to their partnership with Sverve, bloggers have an opportunity to submit original content articles to be considered for publication at Parade.com. There is no monetary compensation but the recognition and sense of accomplishment definitely makes it all well worth it.
If you have not yet signed up with Sverve, click here to do so, and after completing your profile, I would appreciate if you would follow and endorse me. To learn more about the this sponsored opportunity as well as others including those for Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest click on the CAMPAIGN tab at the top of the page.
New companies and sponsors are continually partnering with Sverve which makes it an excellent platform for us to work with. It allows the blogger to choose the campaigns that best fits their niche and/or works well for their targeted audience.
Some of you may know that before I started blogging DeDivahDeals, there was “DelaDivahDesigns” where I created and sold Clutch Purses using placemats. I have since stopped but I wanted to share the DIY with others. To read the entire article with instructions click here
I would also appreciate it if you would sign in and leave a comment on the Parade.com website letting me know if these Placemat Purses would be something that you would be interested in making and or selling.

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
I trust you all had a wonderful week and are now gearing up for a fun filled or relaxing weekend. It was definitely a busy week for me and the fam, Malik was on Spring break so he was able to shovel 2 yards of mulch into the backyard, needless to say, he wasn’t happy but it needed to be done. Saturday, I cleaned out the garage and replaced part of the gate around the pool injuring my arm in the process – hubby couldn’t help which made the job a bit more difficult but at least it’s done! Homeowners always remember, “you never own a house, the house owns you!”
Resurrection Sunday after Sunrise Service I came home and took a nap. Later in the day I did a little yard work only to get my first dose of poison oak clearing out the garden, don’t ask me how because it always seems to find me. I read a blog post that stated banana peels are good to stop the itch so I tried it, it worked but only temporary, so if you have a better remedy please share.
If you follow me on Instagram you know that Easter dinner was wonderful, Turkey Ham with pineapples, collard greens, sweet potatoes and a No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert – yum!
Welcome back to the Weekend Wind-Down Party, I don’t know about you but I am having a great time – so many great posts – thank you!
