‘Twas 4 days before Christmas and all through the house not a gift was purchased…no not one…nothing even wrapped. Was I in a panic…no, not me…no mall trip to navigate no whoa is me! I jumped in the Sonata and drove down the street, parked and got out and entered the big “V”…oh I mean the “W” Walgreens.
Long gone are the days of Santa and toys, I now have mini-men, they are no longer little boys. Safety and Life Skills are things that they need, a job application and gas money will be under the tree! ‘Tis the season for a few little gifts so they’ll have something to unwrap when they finally roll out of bed….after 12 noon if that!
A Polaroid Tablet for Son #1, he can take notes in class, read a book or just have fun.
Wrestling, lifting, or just watching TV…they definitely both needed one of these!
Son #2 is up texting all night so he needs help in getting up and a Bluetooth for no talking while driving (I know it didn’t rhyme this time).
What to get hubby…oh boy…what does he need…nothing really, except maybe me! Can’t go wrong with a gift card…one or maybe two and with Walgreen’s big selection that wasn’t too hard to do.
Food and drinks and a trip to Lowe’s will fit the bill, added a little Dove Body Wash and all is chill.
Last minute gifts are sure to be found and if you need any assistance just look around, or maybe someone will greet you as soon as you walk in the door.
I am so glad to finally be done, no stress…no hassle…actually it was kinda fun!
Now it’s time to head home and wrap up these gifts and place them neatly under our beautifully decorated tree!
If you have any last minute gift buying to do head over to your local Walgreens as most stores are open until midnight.
Happy Holidays!

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
Today was a fantastic day, this morning it was sunny with temps in the high 80’s and I was on vacation hanging with my oldest son. There were a few things that we needed to get done including him renewing his driver’s license. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years already and next month he’ll be celebrating his 21st birthday – God is Good!
All that closet cleaning Saturday and I could not find one pair of decent shorts…oh well, time to hit up GW Boutique this weekend! I decided to wear an old pair of capris instead of a sundress and found them to be just as comfortable.
What are you most comfortable in during the heat of the summer?
Top (old) Avon // Sandals – Rugged Wearhouse
Multitasking as usual with mobile and iPad
Glasgow County Park was filled with walkers and joggers but I was just there for the scenery
Changed into flats from DSW
Gazebo in Glasgow
After a doc appointment I stopped in at Rugged Wearhouse and saw some of the cutest purses, but resisted the urge to make a purchase! It was a good vacation day in May.
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!

The Java House Café in Middletown recently hosted two books signings for local authors. The first one was on Saturday with Richelle N. Rodgers, author of Forever Growing A Journey of Trust. This autobiography gives you insight into her life which is filled with joy and sadness as well as near death experiences by both she and her husband, but her strong faith and trust in God has given her more than the world has taken.
Richelle is Philadelphia native presently residing in Elkton, Maryland with her husband of 38 years and is a grandmother of triplets. Her passion for empowering others to be the best they can be in their relationship with God is prevalent throughout the book. As a Franchise Consultant in both the Museum and Insurance industries as well as an Independent Contractor for CCI, she has had the opportunity to travel outside of the United States including trips to Bosnia and Italy. Richelle is currently a Lay Prayer Associate and an Eucharistic Minister and Lector at her church.
Richelle has dedicated her life in helping others and as a Vietnam Vet is currently working on a Women Veteran Leadership Awards Symposium to be held in DC this fall.
It took 3 years of prayer and the encouragement from family and friends for this book to become the first in what I believe will be a successful career of an Inspirational author.

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday
‘Ole Man Winter is finally giving up with temps rising every day this week, by Good Friday all the snow should be melted. Yesterday schools dismissed early so kids in the neighborhood had a chance to play in the snow, 1 house even made a family of snow people including a dog, it was so cute.
I miss not having little guys anymore and hate to see kids that are too attached to electronics. I’ve seen toddlers in grocery carts playing with their parent’s iPhones or iPads. I don’t know about you but sometimes I just want to go outside and play! Growing up we were up and out early riding bikes, jumping Double Dutch, playing Jacks, BoxBall, Hop Scotch, Red Light Green Light 1-2-3, Freeze Tag, all kinds of outside games.
I truly miss those times – what were some of your favorite childhood games?
Top – Boscov’s // Khaki Skirt – GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Christian Siriano for Payless pumps // bracelet, earrings and necklace – jewelry box
Melting snow should be gone by Friday

Hello Friends and Happy Monday
I hope you all had a good weekend, mine was nice and it started with a Transformation Bonfire at church Friday night, where we all witnessed a Meteorite. I had just put away my iPad after taking pictures of the bonfire so didn’t get a chance to capture it, did you see it? We were outside in the cold so the songs, prayers and Sermonette was short, and it ended with an unburdening. We were encouraged to write down anything that we wanted to be released from and then cast it into the fire. Only hours before I was informed that my Aunt has passed, she had been suffering with emphysema for years and God finally released her from her pain and suffering – RIP Aunt Myrtle.
We woke up this morning to a Wonderful Winter Wonderland…Spring will just have to wait a little longer. Although it is very pretty to look at it wasn’t so pretty to drive in, it took 2 hours to get to work and it’s still snowing so it will be a long commute home.
Today’s outfit had to be changed from a skirt and blouse to pants and top for a casual and comfortable Monday.
Winter Wonderland
Closet staples – pants, top and boots
‘Ole Man Winter is not giving up without a fight!
Snow flakes on the face – lol

Hello friends and Happy Tuesday. I hope and pray that anyone who was affected by Hurricane Sandy are now home safe and sound resting comfortably. We didn’t suffer any damage due to the high winds or heavy rains and for that I say, Thank You Jesus!!! We did however, lose power for an hour so my sons and I huddled around the iPad to watch Chicago Fire. As soon as the power was restored they scattered back to their video games, oh well, at least we had a little time together!
Cold weather storms are definitely diet blowers and we ate far more than we should have, so this poncho is covering the results. We had an appointment this afternoon and it was nice to get out of the house, cabin fever is no joke.
I love fall clothes that you can just throw on in dreary weather especially when they cover the results of overeating!

Hello friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday. I am still playing catch up after a busy yet fun filled 3 day-weekend. I was off on Friday so after my mammogram I went to the nail salon and then to Rugged Wearhouse for gear to wear to Sunday’s Breast Cancer Awareness walk. Saturday was Homecoming at my Alma Mater Delaware State University, the classes of the ’80’s were in full force, I saw people that I hadn’t seen since graduating in 1983. The icing on the cake was the beautiful weather for the entire weekend – God is truly good!
Shift Dress – Burlington Coat Factory// Jones New York Blazer – Goodwill// Pumps – Ross
The weather has shifted, so this sleeveless shift dress is covered with a blazer

GM has taken their showrooms on tour traveling to various locations giving people an opportunity to test drive their 2012 Chevy Volt electric cars. Haas Group International, a tenant in our office park hosted the event this week. The showroom was set up in the upper parking lot where several vehicles were parked next to information podiums, others were lined up to be test driven. As a thank you for participating you were eligible to enter a drawing for an iPad, and were given a free insulated tote bag.
Before the test drive you needed to show your driver’s license, and if you wanted to enter the drawing, complete an entry form. A wrist band was placed on your arm and then you stood in line for the next available car. It was like standing in line for a ride at Disney but much quicker! A rep sat in the passenger seat and I didn’t drive far but it didn’t take long to realize that the vehicles are definitely worth the investment. If not for the fact that it uses electric at less than $2.00 per charge, plugged overnight into a 110volt or several hours in a 220volt outlet. It was a smooth and quiet ride, had quick pickup and was not sluggish. The dashboard controls looked futuristic without being overly distracting. The comfort and roominess was amazing, my co-worker and back seat passenger is 6 feet, and she was comfortable, noting that her son who is 6’7, would also be comfortable driving this vehicle. We also gave a video testimonial which can be heard here.
GM is offering participating companies a discount and in addition to the government’s rebate program it is a great incentive to purchase if you are in the market. The wheels in my head were spinning because my 180 minute daily commute is costing me almost $100 a week in gas, and my son is eyeing my car as his own. If you get a chance stop by a Chevy/GM dealership and give it a test drive or if you’re lucky, they’ll roll up to an office park next to you.
This would have been a great birthday gift!
