20 Micro LED Lights | #rtgsproducts

Hello friends,

You know that saying, “good things come in small packages”, well that’s exactly how it is with these 20 Micro LED Lights by RTGS Products.  After I ordered them they shipped quickly however, I didn’t get a chance to try them out until last night and boy was I pleasantly surprised.

LED lites review

The 20 Micro LED lights are attached to a thin silver wire measuring 7′, and can be bent and shaped to fit any purpose.  The plastic battery pack requires 3 AA batteries which are not included.

These micro lights would be great in an office setting where you can’t use electric lights, or as a nice accent to a front door wreath. The Micro LED lights are also great to use in an arts & crafts or school projects because they are very thin and are intensely bright.

Wouldn’t this be perfect for St. Patty’s day?

I also put them in a glass jar filled with glass stones which could be displayed in a guest bathroom, bedroom or even on a shelf or mantle.

Micro lights in a glass jar Unfortunately, for me after my son saw them he had a totally different idea.  Because they are vibrant green, he wanted to use them to accent his Eagles door plaque, so I guess that’s where they’ll stay.

I may order another set for Malik’s dorm room, but of course in a different color.

How about you, where would you display these 20 Micro LED Lights?

Caltrate Gummy Bites

Hello friends,

If you recall, last year my GYN diagnosed me with being Vitamin D Deficient, so I started taking Vitamin D pills.  If you are anything like me, you don’t like taking hard-to-swallow pills and may take softgels instead.

I had seen Gummy Vitamins on the shelves at our local drug stores but always felt they were a bit juvenile for a woman of my age!

Thanks to @Smiley360, I was able to receive ten sample packs to review.  Included with the samples was a $2.00 off coupon and a Pedometer, which I wear at the office as a reminder to get up and walk, I definitely don’t want a “blogger’s butt”.

Caltrate Gummy Bites

These Caltrate Gummy Bites are Calcium & Vitamin D3 Supplements which supports strong bones, another health concern for aging women.  The Gummy Bites are not those stick-to-your-teeth bites which I though they would be, you know something similar to candy gummy worms.

They come in three flavors, Black Cherry, Orange and Strawberry and have now become part of my daily vitamin regiment.

Anyone over the age of 13 can take these supplements 2x per day with or without food but make sure to first check with your physician before taking any new medication or supplement.

Caltrate Gummy Bites

Caltrate Gummy Bites can be purchased online @Amazon.com or at your local Walgreens, Walmart, Target or CVS.  Click here to receive your $2.00 off coupon.

I received this product for free for the purpose of my review.  Opinions are 100% my own.  I am not a health care professional so please check with your physician before taking any over-the-counter products.

Keep It Cold With An Ice Ball Mold | #spon StyloPhora

Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world.

Last month at the Radiant Orchid Garden Party I noticed our hostess had fruit filled ice balls in glasses at the outdoor bar.  I wanted to try one but with all the activities of the day I didn’t get a chance. Thankfully, I now have an opportunity to do a product review for Large Deluxe Ice-Ball-Molds by StyloPhora so I made my own.

StyloPhora Ice Ball Molds Review

I ordered the product on Thursday and it arrived from Amazon.com on Sunday – talk about quick delivery!  Although I was impressed with the quick delivery, I was a bit concerned with the packaging.  There were 4 pieces of cellophane tape across the top sealing the plastic tube which make me wonder if it was a returned item then hand sealed versus machine sealed.  It was obvious that the molds weren’t used, otherwise I would have asked for a replacement.

My son decided to test one first and said he liked it, but then again, he just froze plain water to put into a pitcher of iced tea.  I, on the other hand wanted to add fruit to the mold and use it in a pitcher of Sangria.

There are 3 silicon molds per pack and includes a collapsible funnel.  After washing the molds I filled the bottom half with diced pineapples and mango chunks.  I put the top on and using the funnel to fill the mold with water only to the black lines which allows for expansion.

I kept them in the freezer overnight, however, it only needs 4-6 hours to totally freeze.  After freezing, remove the top half, then squeeze to release ice mold into a glass or pitcher.

Included on the instructions pamphlete for the Ice Ball Molds is a code for a bonus video on how to make crystal clear ice balls.

These slow melting ice balls are great for a party pitcher or added to an individual glass.

Love The Skin You’re In | #sp Foxbrim 100% Pure Argan Oil

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Hello Friends, I hope all is well in your world.  Now that I am over the age of 50, I have started thinking more and more about the skin I’m in especially my face. We’ve all heard that too much sun exposure is bad for your skin – too late, from 1976 to 1979 I’d bake every summer at Rehoboth Beach and even now I enjoy laying in the summer sun but not as long.  Drink more water – I wish I could drink the recommended 32 oz, or is that 64 ounces daily, heck I’m lucky if I drink 8 oz every 3 days, that is of course unless coffee and wine counts.

Get plenty of rest – who me, the person that doesn’t get into bed until after midnight and then tosses and turns because my mind won’t shut down?  Don’t smoke – too late, although I am a quitter, 5 years clean, (yeah me) I did smoke for over 30 years.  Now more than ever I have to pay closer attention to how I treat my skin to avoid any further damage.

Foxbrim 100% Pure Argan Oil I recently ordered a bottle of Foxbrim 100% Pure Argan Oil from Amazon.com and started using it as a moisturizer for my face.  After removing my makeup and cleansing my face, I put 2-3 drops on the back of my hand then using my fingertips apply it to my face, eyelids and lips. 100% Pure Argan Oil

Foxbrim 100% Pure Argan Oil is unbelievably light, easily absorbs into my face leaving it feeling nourished.    Now that I’ll be spending more time in the sun, this product will definitely be up front and center as part of my daily moisturizing and makeup routine. sun worshipper

Foxbrim 100% Pure Argan Oil can also be used a hair treatment and pre-shave oil, but I think I’ll let my mini men try it for those purposes then I’ll let you know what they think.

Friday Night Facial | Dead Sea Mud Mask #spon

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Hello Friends, I have a question for you, what is your favorite night of the week?  For me it is definitely Friday nights because after I get home and have dinner it’s time to sit back and relax and have some “pamper me” time. savings at cvs

Pedicures and facials are my all time favorite at home spa treatments and last week I had the opportunity to review the Dead Sea Mud Mask by Pure & Essential Minerals. As part of this Tomoson campaign I received a product code so that I could place an order for a jar of the Dead Sea Mud Mask directly from Amazon.com.

Dead Sea Mud Mask

The night before receiving the Dead Sea Mud Mask I got a confirmation email which also contained detailed instructions on how to apply the product.  After dinner I was anxious to get started, so I grabbed my head band, removed my make-up with a cleansing cloth then washed my face with warm water.

Remove all makeup

washed face with warm water

After washing my face and patting it dry I began applying the Dead Sea Mud Mask.  I only put on a medium layer making sure to avoid my eyes and lips, then washed my fingers.  I was surprised that it went on smoothly with no gritty feeling which is common in some mud masks.

Apply a medium layer of Mud Mask avoiding eyes and lips

I immediately smelled the Eucalyptus Oil, which gave me a slight tingling sensation, yet there was no major skin irritation or redness and all the other ingredients are organic in nature.

I kept the mask on for 15 minutes, and while waiting I read the side of the jar which contained facts about the Dead Sea.   Interesting fact: The Dead Sea is located between Israel and Jordan and is 1400 feet below sea level which is the lowest point on the earth’s surface.

Apply to face avoiding eyes and lips

The Dead Sea Mud Mask is supposed to draw out impurities, toxins and excess oils to leave the skin feeling soft and clean.  Dead Sea minerals nourishes and restores skin’s vitality, stimulates and improves blood circulation, resulting in a wonderful glow.

Rinse face after 15 minutes

After 15 minutes I rinsed my face with warm water using circular motions to exfoliated the skin, then used the wash cloth to remove some remaining mud.  It was a quick and non messy process that made my face feel smoother even the next morning I noticed a difference.

Rinse face to remove excess mud

I splashed my face with cold water which seals the pores, used a little moisturizer then poured a glass of Sweet Red.  This is definitely going to be part of my Friday night “pamper me” regiment to keep my skin silky smooth all summer long.

Biotin Vegetarian Capsules | #sp Product Review

Hello friends, I trust you all are having a wonderful Wednesday.  Some of you may or may not know that I have very fine and thin hair which unfortunately has been getting thinner as the years progress.  I want to chalk it up to heredity because my primary physician as well as a dermatologist couldn’t diagnose the “root” cause – no pun intended.

At first I thought it was stress induced from being a caregiver to my grandmother, but she has since passed, 5 years now and my hair still hasn’t gotten thicker.  I’ve had blood work and thyroid tests completed and nothing out of the ordinary was found, but it hasn’t stopped me from trying various hair re-growth products.

Recently, I had an opportunity to test a Biotin Vegetarian Capsule and Vibrance Vitamins from eunatural.com. Biotin is a vitamin that aids in hair growth and strong nails.  I ordered it directly from Amazon.com and am currently in my 2nd week. There are only slight changes in the thickness of my hair, however, I will continue with the regiment and keep you posted on the results.

Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil | Giveaway #spon

Disclosure: Tropical Traditions provided me with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review or sponsor a product giveaway in return for the free product.

What I don’t know would make a whole new world”

That was what my grandmother would say whenever she learned something new, and considering she lived to be 98, it was usually only on rare occasions. However, I’m sure she would have said it, just as I did when I received a 32 oz jar of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.

tropical traditions jar

Two weeks ago I had no idea they were over 100 different ways in which to use Virgin Coconut Oil, and it blows my mind just thinking about a few of those amazing uses. Virgin Coconut Oil can be used as a health and beauty product, in cooking, baking, making sauces, dips or simply adding to a hot beverage or mixed in a green smoothie. I am in no way making any health claims but if you want to know more about the benefits of coconut oil, check out this website http://coconutoil.com/

One morning for breakfast, I decided to try it in a green smoothie so I added a tablespoon of Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil to a handful of kale, ½ a banana, and a teaspoon of flax seeds, when mixed with water it became a tasty tropical coconut flavored smoothie.

Green Smoothie made with Virgin Coconut Oil

Hubby and I now use it every morning in our smoothies and although we may switch up on the fruits we use, it’s never without the Coconut Oil.

Mother’s Day was a great time to try it as a baking ingredient. I used a box of muffin mix and substituted the vegetable oil with Virgin Coconut Oil using the same measurements, however, it needed to be melted first, so a few seconds in the microwave did the trick.

I allowed the milk and eggs to come to room temperature before adding the Virgin Coconut Oil so that it wouldn’t solidify in the cold batter. My hubby and mini men ate them all except two which I had to hide in order to have them later!

Muffins for Mother's Day

I also use it as a butter replacement on my morning toast.

Virgin Coconut Oil as a butter replacement

Mother’s Day weekend was also a good time to try and make a natural body scrub. It was very easy to make using two cups of Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil blended with a cup of white sugar and 5 drops of Essential Oil. This mixture made 3 small jars of the body scrub, which is way more than enough for me, so I will probably be gifting a jar to a friend and then saving one for Father’s Day as a gift to hubby.

Body Scrub made with Virgin Coconut Oil

Like I said, there are over 100 ways in which to use Virgin Coconut Oil so it will definitely be a staple in our house both in the kitchen and the bathroom.

How about you, what are some ways in which you would or have used Virgin Coconut Oil?

If you’ve never tried it, here’s your chance, Tropical Traditions, has offered to send a 32 oz jar of Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil to one of my lucky readers.

Thankful Thursday

Hello Friends and Happy Thankful Thursday!

This week started off great, on Monday hubby received the best news since his cancer diagnosis and surgery – NO CHEMO!!!  I am thankful that he doesn’t have to go through that procedure although he will need to be monitored and tested every 3-4 months.  I am also thankful to all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this time!

I am thankful to have had another DIY article published in the Parade Magazine, the first one was the “Storm Survival Kit“.  If you haven’t had a chance to read it click here and I would appreciate it if you made a comment on their website as well.

Placemats to Purses

I am also thankful for winning a Giveaway sponsored by Me and My Mini Me, a JunoPower External Battery and this little guy is awesome!  A few weeks ago I attended an event after work and about an hour into the program the battery on my Samsung G4 mobile phone died!

Don’t you feel disconnected from the rest of the world when that happens?  I wish I had had the JunoPower at the time because it would have charged my phone in less than an hour allowing me to post more pics on my Instagram page (aah the life of a blogger)!

Won Juno Power Battery

The Juno Power Battery has two USB ports so that it can charge two devices at the same time, and it can be either an Apple or Android product.

Juno had two USB ports Juno Power Battery

The best thing about the Juno Power is that it holds a charge so you don’t need to keep it plugged in when not in use, and if you forget to turn it off it will go into a sleep mode and power down.  It comes with a USB cord which you can plug into a charger/outlet for recharging and the LCD screen shows the percentage of battery life remaining.

HUE plus battery stays in my purse

The Juno Power Hue Battery comes in an assortment of metallic colors, I chose pink (I wonder why), and it will stay in my purse away from my son Malik the electronics guru!

Thank you !

Okay, it’s your turn, what are you thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday

Homelite Pressure Washer | Unsolicited Product Review

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!

Last weekend was absolutely gorgeous, and I as well as most of the neighbors were outside working on our lawns and gardens. I also had to head over to Home Depot to replace a Pressure Washer which had been broken for years, and get new seat cushions for the patio furniture.

Hubby isn’t fully recovered yet so I had to make the purchase as well as put it together myself.  Knowing that there are other woman who may need to do the same, I decided to do an unsolicited review on the process.

Homelite Pressure Washer Review

I purchased the Homelite Gas Pressure Washer for $299.00 and a bottle of Zep Pressure Washing Concentrate

Years of dirt and grime

This is what the concrete on the front stoop looked like due to years of neglect…a major build up of dirt and grime..not very welcoming!

Almost fully assembled

I loved the fact that the pressure washer was packaged almost fully assembled.

Remaining pieces

The remaining items in the box were the hose, wand, handle, bottle of oil, nozzles, warranty information and directions.

Nozzle instructions printed on the back

There’s also an instruction sheet adhered to the back of the pressure washer for easy reference.

Attaching water hose

It was easy to attach the handle and hose

Attach garden hose

as well as to attach the household garden hose.

Add oil  It comes with a bottle of oil and a paper funnel, which I didn’t see until after I used this Dollar store plastic funnel which we keep in the garage.

oil tank is clearly marked Location of oil tank is clearly marked.

Homelite Pressure Washer Review

After all hoses are attached, fill tank with gasoline,

Add Zep All in One Concentrate add Zep All in One Soap Concentrate.

Turn switch to "On", slide to "Chock" and Pull Turn switch to “on”, slide to “choke” and pull the starter cord, then push switch from “choke” to “run”. It was an easy starter pull unlike the older models.

The nozzles are color coded and the reference sheet is attached to pressure washer

The nozzles are color coded and there’s a reference card attached to the handle of pressure washer.

Choose correct nozzle for the job

Always choose the correct nozzle for the job, check reference card for determination.

Once I got the hang of it, I started cleaning the brick wall

Once I got the hang of it, I used it to clean the brick wall as well.

Only complaint - cheap plastic cover ripped - not sure how because I didn't drag the pressure washer

My only complaint was the cheap plastic covering the hose, it ripped.  I am not sure how because I don’t remember dragging it across the concrete.

I give it a B grade

I could have done a better job, but started getting tired however, it does look much better.  Next weekend I’ll do the vinyl siding and patio furniture, then on to the pool area.

What are your major outdoor chores for the summer?

Weekend Wind-Down Party | Bloggers Networking

Hello Friends and Happy Good Fri-Yay!

I trust you all had a wonderful week despite the fact that Tuesday was Tax Day.  Unfortunately, we owe money to Uncle Sam so at 7:00 p.m. I was in line at the Post Office mailing in a payment.  Oh well, it could be worse so I am not going to complain too loudly about it.

Saturday I went to Home Depot and purchased patio cushions for the deck furniture and a new Pressure Washer, something we desperately needed, stay tuned for an unsolicited product review.  Oh and I finally received my “Blogger” license plate – I am super excited and proud to advertise my blog daily across two states.
