Goodwill Goodies – Part 1

Hello friends and Happy Saturday, I hope you had a great day and are winding down to a relaxing evening. I finally broke my “thrifting fast” and went to Goodwill in Dover and Smyrna in search of a few blouses and skirts. On the top of my list were a white blouse, a houndstooth skirt and anything colored oxblood – JACKPOT I found them all and then some!

Successful Saturday

Hello friends and Happy Sunday. Today is a lazy-do-nothing-but relax day because it’s cold and rainy. I did wash the kitchen floor which has been on my to-do list for over a month. The weekend is over but tomorrow schools are closed as well as many businesses however, I will be working.

Saturday was a successful day, I made $85.00, selling at Dutch Country Farmers Flea Market. Sold clothing, shoes, household items and Halloween decorations from $1.00 to $5.00. The sons helped me set up and stayed the entire time. I donated to Goodwill several boxes of summer clothing and decorations that did not sell. The weather started out cool but warmed up nicely and the people were friendly so overall it was a good day.

Once home I had to get ready to go to Dover to meet my cousins for dinner. They had arrived earlier on a bus trip from New Rochelle to Dover Downs. I am not a big slots player and didn’t want to lose the $85.00, so only played 3 slot machines and lost $15.00. My cousins broke even and we went to dinner at Olive Garden. I love the cold salads and warm bread and did not overdo it with the pasta. Just as my day started, it ended equally well because I was home before 8:00 and my cousin called at midnight she was at work, I wish I had half her energy!

Goodwill Fall Haul

Saturday was an overcast and cloudy day which put me in the mood to do a little thrifting.  With a dollar limit in mind and a $10 gift card I headed south to Goodwill in Smyrna.  Upon entering the store I grabbed a cart which was taken by an associate because it remained empty and idle for too long.  I was looking around in search of Cowboy boots and I hate pushing the cart in and out of the aisles during my search.  I didn’t find the boots but found a few other items along with another empty cart on the other side of the store.

Aqua Maxi Dress – $5.00 // Bold Spirit Reversible, Suede Jacket – $7.00//St. Johns Bay Green Denim Skirt – $3.75

Style co Polka Dot Top – $3.75// Mootsies Tootsies Faux Leather/Croc Loafers – $5.00

Atrium Collection Blue and White Houndstooth Jacket with Bow – $6.00

As I headed back north to Middletown, I stopped at a small yard sale on Route 13 and purchased a belt and small makeup bag spending $2.00, the ladies were grateful since they hadn’t had a sale all day.  Goodwill in Middletown is undergoing renovations, “to make it a more pleasant shopping experience” which is what the sales associate said – lol.  Once again, the hunt for Cowboy boots was futile however, I did find a few nice skirts for the fall and winter season.

Multi Color, long sleeve top – $3.75// GAP Tweed Skirt – $3.75// Le Suit Black and White Houndstooth Skirt – $3.75

Chaus Green Skirt – $3.75// Mossimo Bronze Peep Toe Shoes – $4.00

Small stain in the tweed skirt came out in the wash and I will be removing the bows on the jacket because it cuts tight across the chest.

Flea Market Saturday – "Getting Rid of Stuff 1 Saturday a Month At A Time"

On the first Saturday of each month you can set up tables to sell new and used items for a fee of $15.00, at The Dutch Country Farmers Market in Middletown. In June I made over $150.00, but last month it was too darn hot, so today the boys and I went and got a great spot in the shade – thanks Sister Jeanette!!!

I try not to spend my profits but today was not a good selling day so I walked around to check out the other vendors and came across this Raggedy Anne Doll for $1.00 to add to my collection.

We got up early so Tayair decided to nap and Malik stayed in the air conditioned car for most of the morning.

Summer Season Shoes Clear Out

It appears as though the summer’s season of shoes are being cleared out in preparation for the new fall collections at Burlington Coat Factory.  I’m desperately trying to wear all of my summer shoes/sandals at least once before the end of the season, but I must admit that I am getting excited for the new fall styles.

They also had some cute purses

Saturday Shoe Shopping with Son – It’s a Good Day

I woke up Saturday to “Mom…mom…mom” while being poked in the back….”mom mom are we still going shoe shopping? Oh yea, that got me up and going, it was music to my ears. He actually wanted new sneakers but shoe shopping in any shape, fashion or form is a good day. I had two DSW coupons for $25.00 off my next purchase as well as a balance on a gift card so that’s where we were headed but first we stopped at Burlington Coat Factory.  Malik is still on the Graduated License program for supervised driving so I was a passenger on this mission.

It’s a Good Day – my son is taking me shoe shopping!

He found a pair of Cadillac  sneakers for $25.00 (yea Malik) but also 2 jackets and a watch, me…nothing but pictures which I will post later. I’m not sure if they are pairing down the shoe department or waiting for the Fall collections, but they really didn’t have anything that called out “buy me buy me”.   The price of the sneakers and jackets wasn’t bad but the cashier asked if I would complete a phone survey, for which I would receive 20% off the highest priced item.  Sure,  so after completing the survey she re-rang one of the jackets saving me an additional $15.00.  It’s a a Good Day!

Cadillac Sneakers – $24.99

Jacket on clearance for $49.98, but got an additional $14.99 off – paid $34.99

Watch – $19.99

$39.99

Next we drove over to DSW, Malik didn’t find anything but I found a cute pair of Chinese Laundry suede pumps for less than $10.00! They were on clearance, 30% off $49.94,  and using my two coupons and gift card nothing came out of my wallet, Saturday Shoe Shopping with Son was a VERY good day!!

Clearance $49.94 plus 30% off plus $25 off coupons = $9.96 – used gift card – paid $0

So comfy1
