Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day!
The winner of last week’s “You Choose the Shoe” was the
Polka Dot Pumps from DSW!
Now it’s week 2 so it’s time for you to choose this week’s shoe, and no, I haven’t gotten a pedicure yet so don’t look too hard!
Will it be the blue Fioni Pumps from Kmart
or
Grey Pump from Ross Dress for Less?
Both the top and skirt has been in my closet for such a long time that I can’t remember where purchased. I think the bracelet set was purchased either at Rugged Wearhouse or Burlington Coat Factory.
Have you decided yet?
Look down at the shoes…
…Now look up at the outfit
Okay, Which Shoes Did You Choose?
The winner will be revealed next week!
I’ll be linking up with Whitney Nic James, so come on over when you get a chance.

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
I love the Spring and Summer seasons, not only because of the warmer weather but because of the shoes! Sandals and open-toes are my favorites, but wedges, platforms, kitten heels, high heels, pumps, flats, it doesn’t matter, I wear them all.
I know that I’m not alone when I say, “I LOVE Shoes“. I’ve been known to purchase 3 different pairs all at the same time…all on the same day… AND all at the same store ~ I LOVE Shoes! Unfortunately, having only one pair of feet can cause a dilemma, the decision on which pair to wear for a particular outfit can be frustrating.
This new blog feature, “You Choose the Shoes” is helping me by giving you an opportunity to choose the pair of shoes that I’ll wear with a particular outfit of the day.
Okay, for this outfit which pair should I wear?
The Polka Dot sleeveless tank was thrifted from Goodwill and red Capri pants were on clearance at JC Penney?
Madden Girl Polka Dots from @DSW
or
Glo Jeans wedges from @Kmart
My hubby and son chose The Madden Girl
I had to do one of those 3-toe polishes this morning, but I will be making an appointment for my annual Spring pedicure!
So which one did you choose?
I’ll be linking up with my favorite fashionistas Whitney Nic James and Shana at ColorBlind, so when you get a chance hop over and check out their thrifted finds.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
I hope your week has been going well and that you are now gearing up for a wonderful weekend. Two Saturdays ago I drove to Claymont to meet Erin, a model in the 2014 Goodwill Runway Show for her final fitting.
We met to find the last few pieces to complete her wardrobe and afterwards we did a little thrifting for ourselves.
Erin found these metal pieces which she said she’ll use as candle covers, vases for artificial plants or maybe to hang her earrings. What do you think, what would you use them for?
This Briggs New York Skirt will be added to my collection ($3.75) and the new Victoria Secrets Handbag will be part of the Goodwill Runway Show Boutique.
I hit the jackpot in the men’s department and was able to stock up on sweaters for my sons and hubby also $3.75 each #winning
Can’t beat finding a J. Crew sweater for only $3.75
Too bad this shopper found this faux suede jacket first, otherwise it would have been in my cart! Don’t you think it would have been perfect with the skirt?
Even with snow on the ground, it’s never to early to think about Spring and Summer shoes. Check out the embellishment on these acrylic sandals – cute!
Now I need to gather more items to donate back to Goodwill!
Have you done any winter thrifting, if so, why not share at Thrifters Anonymous
DON’T FORGET THIS WEEKEND’S SALE AT ALL GOODWILL DE/DELAWARE COUNTY LOCATIONS!

Hello Friends and Happy Kwanzaa!
I trust you all had an enjoyable and peaceful Christmas and that you received everything you wanted.
Today is the first day of Kwanzaa and the first principle is Umoja or “Unity”. As you go about your day I ask that you spread a little kindness with a smile or a simple “how do you do”. This can make someone’s day brighter because we are all in this crazy mixed-up world together!
The last day of Kwanzaa is January 1st and if you have plans of going out for New Year’s Eve you’re probably in need of a new outfit.
As a stylist with the Goodwill 2014 Runway Show I’ve had the opportunity to pull together outfits for the various models. I’ve also pulled some dresses for the show that I think would be great for a New Year’s Eve event.
All of these dresses were under $20.00, most were only $5.00, so if you broke the bank at Christmas you can definitely save money for New Years.
Whether you’ll be dancing and prancing or just sitting and staring at others on the dance floor, you’ll look good doing it in a new dress or gown from Goodwill. Accessories such as new shoes, scarves, jewelry and handbags can also be found at your local Goodwill.
As you can see, several of these dresses and shoes are new with the tags still attached. There are definitely bargains to be found at Goodwill and you’ll be giving back and helping others in your community not only with your purchases but with your donations as well.
So what do you think, will it be a “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” or “Sex in the City” type of night?
Have a wonderful time and be safe!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Styles of the 60s
I was born in 1961, the decade known for free love, drugs, Go-Go Girls, Rock and Roll, The Vietnam War, Civil Rights, Hippies, the Birth Control Pill, The Peace Corp, Dr King, President Kennedy, assassinations, integration, Space Explorations, Cuban Missile Crisis, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, The Beverly Hillbillies, Afros, Crew Cuts, and of course the vibrant and colorful world of fashion.
The Past Is a Blast is a website that has culminated fun and interesting facts about the ’60’s, including popular music, dances, sports figures, politicians even the minimum wage, which at the time was just a $1.00, go check it out.
I was too young to fully understand it all but do remember that I loved the fashion and styles of the ’60’s, the bell bottoms, platform shoes, neon colors, color blocking and pattern mixing…hey, isn’t that the style of today?
To learn more or reminisce about the 60s, here’s another website you can check out – The 60’s Official Site

What is your favorite blast from the past fashion trend? Mine was bell bottoms and Peace Sign jewelry.

Hello Friends and Happy Monday…Monday…Monday, I hope your weekend was all that you wanted it to be and then some!
One of my weekend missions is to have all of the closets cleaned out by the end of the summer…or at least all of the bedroom closets cleaned out! Last Saturday after working with my son in his, we decided to store the sweaters and sweatshirts in Original Space Bags which were purchased from Ross

The Space Bags are sealed tight when the air is removed using a vacuum
They aren’t as flat as I wanted but it’s still a good space saver

I organized some of my shoes with this Over-The-Door Shoe Rack by Mainstays purchased from Walmart
These will be sorted by color
I’ll get plastic shoe boxes from Dollar Tree for these summer shoes/sandals
Also purchased a Mainstays 2-Tier Garment Rack for skirts
The rack will be put into the spare bedroom freeing up additional space in my closet
Next week another closet….
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
We’re having a heatwave…a tropical heatwave and the solar cover arrived just in time to capture the rays. By Sunday the pool should be warm enough to swim in, who will be swimming, now that’s another story. My men don’t have much of an interest anymore so most of the summer it’s just me, my magazines and music!
Peplum Top – Walmart // Khaki Skirt – GW Boutique – both made the “kloset keeper kut”
Necklace – NY & Company // Wedge Shoes – Avon

On Friday I had the pleasure of spending the day with my girlfriend, her mother and her daughter, 3 generations on a mission to thrift 2 outfits for less than $10.00 each from The Salvation Army Family Store. Driving north in the drizzling rain to Wilmington in anticipation of thrifting was a great way to start my vacation day.

The layout of The Salvation Army Family Store made it easy to maneuver the shopping carts throughout the floor and in between the racks, making it easier to locate bargains. We started at the front racks, filled with skirts, blazers, pants and tops organized by color and then worked our way back to the dresses, finding both casual and dressier attire.

The price points for clothing at The Salvation Army Family Store is higher than that of Goodwill but there are still bargains to be had. I found a pair of new, white Liz Claiborne jeans for $4.99, a perfect wardrobe addition for the summer! The “color of the day” was pink, which meant 50% off all clothing and shoes with a pink tag, and we each found at least one pink tag item.

The shoe racks were filled with a variety including Anne Klein, Steve Madden and Nine West pumps, Merrell Ortholite, Skechers and Enzo Angioline sandals, which I purchased, a little pricey at $14.99, but still a bargain because they can originally sell for $59.00.

Thrifting with the 3 generations of ladies at The Salvation Army Family Store was enjoyable as well as satisfying knowing that our purchases would be helping the Adult Rehabilitation Program. The Salvation Army’s mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it was refreshing to hear the overhead announcement, “Welcome to The Salvation Army Family Store…Have a Blessed Day”
