Shawl and Sweater Weather For the Fall

Can you believe it, this is the last day of November!  All the leaves have fallen from our trees which hasn’t made hubby too happy and there is less sunshine during the day which make my evening commute much worse.

Winter will be here and soon I’ll be wrapped in hats, scarves and gloves but until then I am still wrapped in sweaters and shawls.

As you can see, I was not wearing pantyhose or tights in these pics, however, since then have pulled them out and started wearing them because it got really chilly last week.

Speaking of last week, it was a very busy one because in addition to getting ready for Thanksgiving, I conducted a Basic Blogging Workshop at the Bear Library, and then presented a “Social Media for Personal and Professional Networking” Workshop for IAAP Administrators in Dover both of which were awesome.

Suede Booties with Fringes

Thanksgiving was nice, Malik came home Tuesday and I prepared a nice dinner for my mini men and hubby and we had more than enough to eat.  The No Thaw Jennie-O Cajun Turkey was amazing and very easy to cook, from the freezer to the oven to the table in four hours.  After dinner, I spent several hours pulling out winter sweaters, ironing and gathering items to be donated to the Salvation Army.

Not one who likes wearing winter coats, I do however, love this shawl because it’s large enough to be wrapped in total warmth and it matches perfectly with these suede fringed booties.  If  you remember, I purchased these booties from TJ Maxx for a Cowboy outfit and they are very comfy and cute – what do you think?

thrifted from Goodwill

Last minute I changed from the shawl and booties and decided to wear this oversized, thrifted sweater with these Cognac color pumps to work instead.  I also have these Fioni pumps in black purchased at a BOGO sale last month at Payless.  I received several compliments from a few ladies in the office which made me feel pretty good.

This is not a “You Choose the Shoes” post, but I am going to ask, which pair would you have worn with this outfit?

Fabulous After 40 Feature

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!

I was recently featured on the website “Fabulous After 40”, and chosen as “Glam Gal of the Week”, (click the link to read in case you missed it.)

I was also selected along with two other ladies who we weren’t afraid to wear the color red after the age of 40. The red sheath dress that I was wearing was received from eShakti as a product review.  Sheath dresses are my favorite styles and even with the the change in weather they will remain forefront in my closet.

WIWW In today’s outfit I am wearing a color blocked sleeveless sheath dress from Avon.  I gave the outfit an edgier look with the pleather jacket thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill), studded booties and stud and spike accessories.

Remember when I purchased this Spike Necklace/Earring Set on my birthday at Rugged Wearhouse for a $1.00 on clearance?

Last Friday I also wore a color block sleeveless sheath dress purchased from Ross with a pair of suede over-the-knee boots and long knit sweater.

I believe these rhinestone embellished boots were also purchased a few seasons ago from Ross.

WIWW As you can see, I have no intentions of putting away my sleeveless sheath dresses anytime soon.

How about you, what are your wardrobe items that you’ll wear in any season?

I was inspired by Transatlantic Blonde in wearing footless tights with a dress,  and they were purchased at Target.

Today I am linking up with What I Wore Wednesday with The Pleated Poppy, come on over and meet some new bloggers.

WIWW – ShapeFX Pencil Skirt

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday

Last month I ordered two pencil skirts which were on clearance for $5.00 each from the Ultimate Outlet catalog.   This was the first time I’ve ever worn anything with a built in Bodyshaper, and must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and fit.

ootd 9 19 13 013 This ShapeFX skirt was very comfortable and the bodyshaper lining did not ride up thanks to the elasticity in the band.  It gripped my thighs tightly and didn’t show any lines.

ootd 9 19 13 014 The skirt is a neutral color which works well with practically everything in my closet.  I am already thinking about wearing it again this winter with an over-sized sweater and my brown knee-high suede boots.

ootd 9 19 13 012 I chose to wear this multi-color, bat-wing sleeve  top that I had purchased from Boscov’s and carried my Cognac Tote which was purchased as part of that large shoe haul at Target, remember?

This pencil skirt had a nice fit, it hugged where it needed and was loose where it counted which is always a consideration when choosing clothes to wear to work.

ootd 9 19 13 018 I will definitely be online looking for more $5.00 clearance skirts from Spiegel’s Ultimate Outlet online catalog.  What do you think?

Hope you are having a fantabulous day – Smooches!
