Hello Friends and Happy Sunday, I hope you enjoyed that extra hour of sleep!
Now we can talk about the holidays?
My grandmother loved to write and send out greeting cards, she would buy them for every holiday and special occasion. Each year she would send a Christmas card to her more than 20 grands and 40 great grandchildren, I still have boxes of them in storage.
Beginning in November, as soon as the holiday season began her first purchase would be for Christmas cards and they would be written and addressed before Thanksgiving. She loved writing little notes inside and did it every year up until 2008, when she could no longer after becoming bedridden. That year, I bought the cards and helped her write and address them and it was also the last time because she passed away in May 2009, at the age of 98.
One year we took a family picture that included her and put a copy of it into each of the cards and she absolutely loved it. I have often regretted that it didn’t become an annual tradition because it would have been nice for her grands and great-grandchildren to have those pictures today.
Minted.com is an online stationary company that provides consumers the opportunity to create their own uniquely designed photo holiday cards. I wish I had of known about Minted.com when my grandmother was still alive because I would have definitely ordered cards from them to send out to our family and friends.
If you are like me, you only keep the personalized photo cards and recycle the others so getting a card from Minted.com, would definitely be a keeper. Many of you have wonderful photography skills and these luxurious holiday cards are fully customizable to include your favorite family photo with a personalized greeting.
You can choose to use one photo or pick one of their multi photo cards to showcase all your family pictures. To further enhance your photos, all of the holiday cards are available in your choice of thick Signature paper, 100% recycled Premium paper, or on Pearlescent paper.

This year I am going to do a family portrait because I have a feeling that my sons will be out and about doing their own thing soon, and I don’t want to miss out on yet another opportunity to create a special card.

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
In Delaware it is officially Autumn, the temps have dropped considerably (in the 50’s) and hubby even turned on the heat which I am definitely not happy about!
This sleeveless top was thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill) and the slacks were purchase a few seasons ago at Boscov’s. Asymmetrical sweater was purchased either at TJMaxx or Marshall’s also a few seasons ago.
Put on a sweater if you are cold – “don’t turn on the ding dang dong heat – man!” Can you tell that I am a miser – heck you can even call me Scrooge!
Pour little tomato, it waited too late in the season to ripen so now it’s a “half and half” tomato – do you have a recipe for Fried Green Tomatoes?
Pumps // Avon
I love the fact that Avon has really “stepped up” their shoe game because not only are they cute but they are also extremely comfortable!
Have you started wearing your Autumn Attire?
It snowed in upstate New York and Ohio so soon I will be wearing sweaters, hats, scarves and gloves – I am so not ready but maybe this year, hubby will be able to use his snow blower!
Have a fantabulous afternoon/evening – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy 1st Day of Autumn 2013!
I didn’t get all of my outside chores done yesterday but anticipate a few more warm Indian Summer Saturdays to get them completed. Out and about running a few errands I stopped at Loguello’s Country Market and picked up a few mums but I need to go back next week for more.
In Middletown, Logullos Country Market is a great place to shop for Autumn, Harvest and outdoor Halloween decorations.
They carry a wide selection of seasonal trees and plants, Bales of Hay, Pumpkins and Cemetery Markers.
If you are like me, you enjoy shopping locally verses going to the big box stores for your outdoor plants and decorations. I love the vibrant colors of the Harvest and am looking forward to my favorite and the first official holiday of the season – Thanksgiving!!!
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the transition from Summer to Fall.

Hello friends and Happy Monday before Thanksgiving 2012!
Weekends seem to fly by and this one was no exception especially since I spent most of yesterday washing and pressing all of my thrifted Goodwill goodies. Sometimes I wonder how a silk blouse or cute skirt could have been donated but then I think about all the items I’ve donated over the years and say, “yep, it was too small, too big or my closet is just too full!”
I simply adore these shoes and am amazed that I found them in blue as well – jackpot!
Black skirt was previously thrifted from Goodwill in Exton, PA and the belt was purchased back in the ’80’s

Hello friends and Happy Sunday I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are anxiously looking forward to next week. This year we are not having a big Thanksgiving dinner because my son has to work and my mother-in- law is hospitalized battling intestinal cancer.
I ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this time, thank you.
Although we are not having a big Thanksgiving dinner I still needed to grocery shop and today it wasn’t a chore. I did however, feel sorry for some running around quickly filling their carts like crazy spending way too much!
My casual attire along with my casual attitude allowed me to better compare prices, use a lot of coupons and save a little money.

Hello friends and Happy Thursday, the 1st day of November 2012. Prayers still going up for all those affected by Hurricane Sandy, may God/Allah provide you with much needed strength during this time.
Speaking of time…it is now flying with less than a month until Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday of the year! This transitional weather makes it’s too warm for me to wear a coat but too cold for just a sweater. This morning I threw on a shawl which is actually a large scarf that once belonged to my sister, it’s more than 20 years old yet very timeless. Every time I wrap it around me I can still feel the warmth of my sister’s embrace – RIP Gloria!
