Disclosure: The Purex brand provided me with a sample of Purex Plus Clorox 2 detergent in exchange for this product review. All opinions expressed on this blog post are my own and completely honest.
Every year around this time which is normally Mother’s Day weekend I head outside to prepare the pool for the season. Unfortunately, after uncovering it at the end of April we were then hit with weeks of cold and excessive rain so the pool and the deck became littered with dirt and leaves.
However, not wanting to wait any longer in the month for the weather to warm up I went outside on Saturday to get things cleaned up – and as you can see, got very dirty in the process!
The sun finally popped out towards the end of the day, but I still didn’t get a chance to get the pool clean. The water flow to the filter wasn’t working properly so now I have to wait for Pool Care Specialist to send a tech to repair it which was disappointing.
Thankfully the day wasn’t a total lost because at least I wasn’t disappointed in the the clean up of my clothes. It was perfect timing when the Purex brand provided me with a sample of their new Purex plus Clorox 2 Detergent to review and it turned this dirty mess back into a nice clean set of clothes.
I have been using Purex Detergent for many years but am glad that they have added Clorox 2 to the formula. Not only does it work on 100 stains, including chocolate, tomato, ice cream, grass and blood, but it is also safe for colors and contains an extra powerful boost of Clorox 2 stain fighters.
Now if I can only get the pool filter to give me a powerful boost then I will have the pool ready before the Memorial Day weekend!

Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world and to all my lovely mommies, I hope you each had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. Did you do anything special or like me, do just a little bit of nothing which was special!
On Sunday I basically lounged around relaxing however, on Saturday I did have laundry to do, but it was just one load and it was my delicates. I never let hubby wash those so it wasn’t too bad of a laundry day.
It did give me an opportunity to try the new Snuggle Fresh Spring Flowers scent which I had received last week from the Bear Den. I received the free sample in exchange for this review, however, opinions are 100% my own as you can see from this video!
Using the Snuggle Fresh Spring Flowers scent not only made the clothes smell well but it also made the laundry room smell good. Hubby liked it so much that he even used it when he washed the rest of the laundry.
Next time you’re out shopping, use this coupon to save money on a bottle of Snuggle Fresh Spring Flowers scent then let me know what you think.Click on the pic or link to print out a coupon http://h3.sml360.com/-/51io

Hello Spring ~ Hello Birdies chirping in the trees ~ Hello Sunshine peeking through the windows ~ Hello oh no ~ dust and lots of it!
Friends the time has come to wash away the winter webs and begin the annual tradition of Spring Cleaning! It doesn’t matter if it’s the kitchen counters, the bathroom sink, in the car or on the barbells in the basement, they all need to be cleaned.
These Microfiber Cloths by VibraWipe are a great alternative to paper towels and are strong enough to clean all areas in your home. They are soft, and non abrasive so they can be used on glass and delicate bulbs…don’t forget that Dining Room chandelier.
They are lint-free and won’t streak so they are great on mirrors and glass doors, are super absorbent which is perfect for the kitchen and bathroom sinks. The Microfiber Cloths come 8 to a pack in 4 pastel colors so you can leave one in each room then throw them into the washer to keep them clean and ready for the next use.
So go ahead and fling back those curtains and raise those blinds, just be sure to have a VibraWipe Microfiber cloth handy to catch all the dust.
Our sons started doing chores around the house beginning about the age of 10. They cleaned their rooms, vacuumed, unloaded the dishwasher, did their own laundry and took out the trash. Later on they were each assigned to clean a bathroom every weekend.
Now they are both in college, one is away living on campus and the other is at home commuting to campus. Tayair is home, therefore, it is expected that he continues doing his weekly chores, even doing some that were previously assigned to his brother.
With the winter break, Malik is home for the holidays and my expectation is for him to pick up where he left off, doing his weekly chores. I am sure he is balking and probably speaking things “under his breath” but we all know that doesn’t mean diddly squat!
What do you think, should a college student returning home for the holidays be expected to do their previously assigned chores?
I hope you had a nice MLK Day of Service Holiday and was able to do something special and not boring like cleaning the house! Speaking of which, what chore for you is the most boring?
Is it sweeping and mopping the floor? It may be a boring chore but it’s mandatory if that “5-Second rule” is to apply!
How about washing and drying clothes? Thankfully, my sons have been doing their own laundry since the age of 12, but I still hate doing mine and hubby’s!
How about cleaning out the refrigerator? Just how long can you keep that opened jar of jelly….one or two years?
What about dusting? I don’t really mind it, but I just can’t figure out how dust can settle in an area that we don’t use. We don’t enter the house using the front door so why is that foyer table always dusty!
How about bathroom cleaning? My sons are each assigned a bathroom to clean and needless to say they find it boring!
Hands down for me, the kitchen table basket is the bore chore. This catch-all basket contains coupons, store inserts, and junk mail that I want to read later. Between this basket and the junk drawers they have got to be the most boring chore ever! (hey…there’s even a Christmas candy cane in there)
