“Ding Dong…Avon calling…” I am an Independent Sales Rep for Avon but I don’t ring customer’s bells however, this slogan always comes to mind when I wear pink. This morning I started with a red top because it pairs well with a black white combo, but later changed to the pink which works equally well.
In keeping with the Avon theme, my jewelry includes my Avon 125th Anniversary Charm bracelet, a CZ ring, black beaded necklace and Sunshine Nail polish. If you are interested in ordering Avon products, please go to my website http://www.youravon.com/ablake48 to place an order – the new way to “ding dong”! ((^_^))
Top – Ross// Skirt – Goodwill// Wedge Sandals – Charlotte Russe (last year)// Purse – Charmingly Linda’s Consignment Shop
Ankle Bracelet – gift from hubby with son’s name engraved on each heart

On Friday, my son and I went to Save A Lot, a grocery store that I pass everyday on the way home but have never stopped. They had some good bargains especially in the produce department. Tayair thought it was weird that we had to pay a quarter to get a shopping cart, but understood the concept when we returned the cart and got the quarter back. This is not a fancy store nor is it “ghetto” as some people posted on Foursquare but the price is right for certain items as shown below:

When the work week begins with a holiday it seems like the rest of the week just flies by ~ I can’t believe it’s already Hump Day Wednesday.
This skirt was thrifted and I was attracted to it because of the graduated colors as well as the elephant and giraffe prints. I was going to wear it with a sleeveless tank but instead paired it with this reddish-burgundy top purchased from Marshalls or Ross. The bronze Pesaro sandals are a closet staple and are my go-to slip on-s when I don’t want to wear higher heels.

I had several coupons that were expiring at the end of the month and my men needed more body wash so I made a quick trip to Walgreens on Monday.

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day Holiday weekend, the unofficial start of summer 2012. My men and I had a nice weekend and I spent most of my time outdoors working in the yard and opening the pool. The temperature was in the low 90’s and I didn’t realize how intense the sun was nor did I see the poison ivy intertwined in the tree branches that I cut. Despite the results of these two oversights I had a great time grilling and spending time outdoors which for me is always relaxing.
It is now tIme to get my mind right in preparation for another short work week which is always more hectic than a regular 5-day week!

We have several pine trees in our backyard that are full of pollen pods which drives me crazy and reeks havoc on my son’s allergies. We also have a very large Magnolia tree that produces only 1 bloom at a time. It was such a tiny tree when we purchased 10+ years ago but it has withstood hurricane winds. I didn’t think it would survive but it has and I patiently wait for the one bloom because it is very fragrant (stinkbugs like it too), but unfortunately the leaves are large and tend to drop in bulk.

During my drive home I listen to WDEL 1150AM and yesterday it was announced that they would be giving away FREE American Flags at various locations throughout the state.  This morning heading back home I passed their tent at Arner’s Restaurant on Rt 13 south and because the holiday traffic hadn’t kicked into high gear, I made a U-turn and went back.
Thank you WDEL 1150AM Â for the Flag and THANK YOU VETS for bravely serving our country!
Happy Memorial Day 2012!
