Book Signing with Author Jacqueline Charmane
On Sunday, a second book signing was held at The Java House Cafe in Middletown with local author, Jacqueline Charmane. Jacqueline’s book, “They Raped Me Once Over and Over Again“ is her fifth book and the first one not self-published. In addition to being an author, Jacqueline is a Christian Evangelist and a Comedian (Mother Maeye). As a student at The University of Delaware she received numerous awards and accolades and was even honored as “Most Likely to Succeed” but her dreams were turned into nightmares and she dropped out of school.
Jacqueline eventually returned to school and began working for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and while commuting on a train she met her rapist and father of her only son. Rejected she hid the truth and married her boyfriend who thought the child was his. This true story is of how her courage, determination and faith in God helped her survive an abusive marriage, kidnapping of her son, a divorce, depression, a mental breakdown and then the near death of her son.
They Raped Me Once Over and Over Again is not for the faint of heart, it’s a graphic real life account about the things men do to women and the things women do to survive, it will definitely change the way you think about life. Jacqueline’s other books are “A Journal of 52 Days To Your Prosperity“, “I Don’t Do “FRIEND” Marry Me or Be Alone”, “Satan’s Dirty Little Secret Is Out” and “Knowing and Possessing The Attributes of God”

Shopping, Searching & Soul Food Saturday
Hello Friends and Happy Saturday
I hope you were treated to a beautiful Spring day with flowers in bloom and birds chirping their early Easter greetings.
Hubby and I spent the day together which is a rarity because he’s usually visiting his mother in Wilmington. Next week is Spring Break so he’ll have more time to spend with her and today it was just the two of us. Unfortunately it was wasn’t a date or even romantic, we just went shopping at Lowe’s for a new kitchen sink faucet to replace the one that has been leaking for months – wasting both water and money.
Next we went to car dealerships in Newark and Wilmington checking out Certified Pre-Owned Hondas. It’s the last sales day of the month as well as the end of the quarter so they were extremely busy.
Finding nothing in our price range we ended our day at L&G Soul Food Southern Cuisine for dinner. We ordered platters for us as well as the boys and once home we all enjoyed fried Whiting, collard greens, mac n cheese, string beans, coleslaw and corn bread …needless to say, “itis” kicked in shortly afterwards but it was too late for a nap.
After dinner I had to change into my comfy-stretchy clothes!
Threw on the sandals to punch up my sloppy Saturday outfit!
Have a good night – Smooches!

Birthday Dinner at Ali Baba Middle Eastern Restaurant
On Saturday, we took hubby to dinner at Ali Baba Middle Eastern Restaurant in Newark, http://www.alibabacuisine.com . We hadn’t been there since August and being it was Cinco de Mayo most of the students from the University were at Mexican restaurants so we were seated immediately.
The food is authentic Moroccan, very flavorful and everything is made fresh to order so you have to wait a little bit. We sat in the backroom, which is decorated in tapestries and sofa seating, the soft cushions and pillows made it a comfortable wait. Afterwards the wait staff don’t try to rush you out which also makes your dining experience pleasant.
We started with the Stuffed Grapes leaves, my son used the pita bread to wrap his, but they were perfectly warm when they arrived at the table. We each had a different entrée so that we could taste a little of each.
I ordered the Samke Harra, a flaky fresh salmon filet, baked with tahini, garlic, cumin, onion, pine nuts, lemon juice, and parsley. It was served with a side of tabouli salad which contains parsley my favorite herb. Along with a cup of mint tea it was heavenly!
Hubby had the Moroccan Chicken which had a harisa cumin sauce (spicy), served with a side of Eastern rice. It was suggested that he pull back the skin if it was too spicy but he suffered through, sniffling while enjoying this awesome chicken dish.
Tayair had the chicken kabobs, which were cubes of chicken breast marinated and grilled, served on a bed of Middle Eastern rice. He normally doesn’t eat much of anything unless it pizza, but he ate his entire meal without stopping. After he finished his meal, “itis” kicked in and he leaned back, sleepy eyed on the cushions ready to nap!
al-Malik ordered the Lamb & Beef Gyro Pita Wrap from the lunch menu, but after seeing how small it was he decided to take it home. He then ordered the lamb kabobs which were marinated and charbroiled and served on a bed of Middle Eastern rice.
Afterwards we were all fully satisfied with no room for dessert. Can’t wait for the next visit to Ali Baba!
