Orange is one of my favorite colors because it can be worn any time any season. I love the brightness of this thrifted J. Crew top paired with the asymmetrical brown and beige skirt especially on such a warm and bright day.

Driving home thinking of what to fix for dinner using ground chicken other than making chili, I decided on mini meat loafs. I had the Kraft Fresh Take in the refrigerator and had never tried it before so this was a first. Using the ground chicken, an egg and the Fresh Take mix dinner was easy, breezy and my men loved it. (I sneaked a bite after eating my Nutrisystem meal).

With only 3 weeks of school remaining my son is still telling me about events or special things happening at school. Trust me, I love the fact that my high school son still wants to share this part of his life with me, but why is it always last minute? Anywho, he tells me that he and his buddies have decided that the next 3 Wednesdays will be “Preppy Days” . I remember those days, we wore IZOD polo shirts with alligators on the chest, khaki pants, boat shoes, etc. My son has jeans, sweats and dress pants so yesterday I had to hit up the Goodwill in Exton, PA.
I got him 3 pairs of dockers and a pair of Banana Republic dress pants, with the price tag still attached ($98.00) for $3.75. I washed the dockers and threw the dress pants in the bag slated for the cleaners. Of course I also found myself a few things and hubby gave me his waist size just in case I came across more new slacks in his size….gotta love it, it gives me more of a reason to visit the Goodwill stores because it’s like a treasure hunt!

With all the rain this month the grass was saturated and my shoes and toes got a little wet, but fortunately they dried before I got to work. I recently purchased this dress from Goodwill because I liked the criss-cross back and the shoes match it perfectly. I love the colors of Spring.
Dress – Goodwill// Wedge Shoes – Avon// Belt – removed from another shirt
Ring & Bracelet – my jewelry box

Last week I made the mistake of stopping at Ross only looking to purchase a 3 pack set of loofahs for my husband but unfortunately they didn’t have any. I had banned myself from shopping at Ross and hadn’t been there for over a month. Oftentimes they have such great deals that I’ll over spend my budget and Friday was no exception. After searching for the loofahs and eye-balling the purses instead of walking straight out the door, I made a right and went immediately to the clearance racks…and the rest is history!

I hope and pray that all the Mothers had as nice of a day spent with their children as I did. My Mother’s Day was the fulfillment of one of those “I can’t wait till they grow up and …. “
“I can’t wait till they grow up and talk…I can’t wait till they grow up and are potty trained..I can’t wait till they grow up and walk… I can’t wait till they grow up and go to school…get a job…move out…etc. My “I can’t wait” was having them drive me to lunch and paying for it tip and all!
Although there are times that I long for my sons to be toddlers again, it’s a beautiful thing when they are old enough to appreciate and show
- how much they care without coaxing. I was very surprised when hubby told me that the boys planned on taking me out for lunch and it was a beautiful day with just the two of them. Afterwards we stopped at Lowes to get flowers and of course to Goodwill for the Mother’s Day $5 off $20 sale.
