2 Tone Tuesday and the Weekend WrapUp
Hello friends, I hope all is well is your world. Today’s OOTD is entitled “2 Tone Tuesday” and it’s obvious as to why. However, not only are my shoes 2-tone but check out the necklace, albeit it’s not exactly a 2-tone necklace, there are two different necklaces.
This is something that I had never done before but had seen so many other fashionistas doing it, so I said, ‘hey, what the heck”, this is my version, so what do you think?
The Peplum top and geometric skirt are both from JC Penney and I love pairing them together, I also have the Peplum top in green which you may remember when I wore it with this skirt last season.
Did you have a nice weekend? Mine went by quickly, but I finally got the pool opened which took longer than expected. Our neighbor’s tree fell into it during a June storm and it wasn’t removed until July 11th!
You need to check out my Instagram page to see how it went from being a slimy green mess to gorgeous crystal clear, use the hashtag #poolmaintenance to view the sequence.
Unfortunately, the pressure washer didn’t work so I couldn’t clean around it. I just purchased it last year from Home Depot so you know I will be contacting them for service or a replacement!
My son and I went to the New Castle County’s Dancing in the Park event on Saturday evening and it was packed with families, fun and lots of food trucks. I took a few videos and some pics so check out my Facebook page to see some of the dancing and food vendors.
Hubby had an okay weekend, it was the first one after his chemo treatment. He is sensitive to cold and was a bit tired on Friday with muscle aches, but overall he is doing well. I am extremely proud of him and how he is dealing with his health.
My youngest and I took over the yard work chores, mowing the lawn and trimming hedges, which made me realize just how much I am not going to miss it! #Roadtrip to Retirement
Did you do anything fun this weekend?
I do hope that you enjoy the rest of your day and stay blessed…oh by the way don’t forget to check out the latest posts on Blogging With Blake

Never too old for short sets and sneakers!
Growing up in Mt. Vernon and New Rochelle, New York, during the 60s, summer was the best time of the year. School was out and there was always a parade, picnic or block party to attend. We had a lot of friends and family who was always getting together to eat, drink or just play games.
After cleaning the apartment, we would run up to North Avenue to see the annual parade. My grandmother always bought my sister and I matching red, white and blue outfits and we dressed as if we were twins. Only a little over a year apart we could actually could pass for twins because everyone thought of us as ‘Toni and Gloria‘ never just one or the other.
Catching a bus to go shopping at Korvettes in the Bronx was definitely one of the best memories I have from childhood. My grandmother couldn’t afford to get us the best sneakers but trying on the ones in the big bins attached with a stretchy string was fun.
Shuffling around the store in too big sneakers didn’t bother us as all, you see my grandmother didn’t believe it buying shoes or sneakers that fit, they had to be larger so that we could grow into them. A little toilet paper stuffed in the toes worked fine for us.
Now that both my sister and grandmother are gone, those summer memories are even more special. Having recently purchased a short set and sneakers from Rainbow Shops had my mind and heart filled with with those wonderful childhood memories and no matter how old we get, somethings never change.
No matter my age, I am never too old for a short set & sneakers!
Happy 4th of July Holiday my friends…now go make some memories!

Hello friends and welcome to You Choose the Shoes Season 2 ~ Week 6
Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions regarding my leg, unfortunately there is still a scar which I doubt will ever heal. Thank God is didn’t blister, but the next time, if there is a next time, I’m just going to let the pan fall onto the floor!
This week will be open toe versus closed toe. The weather is finally where it should be so this weekend, I will be pulling out the Spring and Summer shoes so we can get this contest rocking and rolling.
The cloth open-toe pumps are Rocket Dogg from The Shoe Dept and these patent leather pumps are Mossimo from Target.
Believe it or not I almost forgot about this weekly feature…not because I wanted to but because I launched a new blog, Blogging with Blake and have been trying to get it up and running along with a vlogging series. Do ya think I have enough time in a day?
If you follow me on instagram you know we took a road trip to Virginia Beach and welcomed a new cousin into the world, I can’t wait to tell you all about our trip and the rental car from Enterprise!
So which pair do you think looks better, the closed toe pumps…..or…
The open toe pumps?
Thank you all for voting last week…and the winner was…
TODAY IS MY HUBBY’S BIRTHDAY – WE WILL CELEBRATE OVER THE WEEKEND AND I’LL SHOW YOU THE PICS THAT I CAN SHOW ONLINE NEXT WEEK – ((^_^))
I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Hello friends and welcome to You Choose the Shoes Season 2 ~ Week 5
This week the choices are both open toe and back strap, Payless versus The Shoe Dept.
These cognac sandals are quite comfy but they didn’t get much wear last season.
On the other hand, these Fioni’s from Payless were worn quite a bit during the season, I just wish they were available in other colors.
Next week you may not see much of my right leg because I burned it with hot grease. I was pulling the pan of baked chicken out of the over and it slipped, I grabbed the pan with my hand burning my fingertips and the grease splattered along my leg – it was painful!
The skirt is JC Penney and the top and purse were both thrifted from Goodwill.
I am wearing the Jord Watch and tomorrow is the last day to enter for a chance to win! So which pair do you choose?
Thank you all for voting last week…and the winner was…
I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world today. If it’s true, “April Showers Brings May Flowers” then we are in for a blooming May as it will be raining here for the rest of the week!
I do hope there were be a few bright and sunny days before the end of the month, but just in case there aren’t I will keep my umbrella close at hand.
I pray that our friends on the west coast get a few of these damp days to help with their drought.

You Choose the Shoes ~ Season 2 ~ Week 2
Hello friends and welcome to You Choose the Shoes ~ Season 2. Last week, the weather in Delaware was still cool and crisp, it was more Fall like than Spring, but that didn’t stop me from shedding the pantyhose…now I need a serious tan!
I may not have worn pantyhose, but I still needed to cover my legs which is why I chose to wear this Cheetah print maxi skirt. Yes, it’s thrifted from Goodwill and yes, I know that I wore a Cheetah print sweater last week…hey, what can I say…I love Cheetah…just wait until you see the other pair of shoes!
If you remember these shoes, they are the Chinese Laundry suede pumps from DSW, the ones with a little tie in the back.
These Cheetah print pumps (I know…I know) are also from DSW and are definitely one of my favorite pairs of shoes! The blouse was also thrifted from Goodwill and this is one of the $5 statement necklaces from Walmart #WearWalmart
Okay, so which pair do you choose?
Beige, Suede Chinese Laundry
or
Cheetah Print pumps
THANK YOU ALL FOR VOTING LAST WEEK, THE HEELS TOOK IT BY A LANDSLIDE!

Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world. I certainly hope that today’s snow storm is actually the last snowstorm of the season because my wardrobe is so ready for Spring. On Monday, I couldn’t help but wear this sleeveless top even if it was covered by a wool jacket. Do you remember this peplum top that I purchased from JCPenney?
My husband thought I was crazy and he shivered in the doorway to take these pics, but I was actually quite comfortable.
I hadn’t brought up all my winter clothes from the basement so when I saw this top hanging next to the jacket I knew they needed to be paired together – like water and wine, they mix so well together – what do you think?
Speaking of wine, on Sunday, I will be attending A Taste of the MidAtlantic Wine & Food Festival in Wilmington. I can’t wait to share some of the highlights next week and I do hope to see a few of my Delaware followers there as well.
To make the peplum top more “wintery”, I added this thick animal print belt and ethnic necklace. The brown “Mudd’ boots, thrifted khaki skirt and wooden bracelet and earrings completes the outfit.
What say you, are you ready for winter to end? Have a wonderful day.
New Year, New You

Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world. I was hoping that by the time we stepped into March, we would be stepping into Spring, unfortunately in Delaware, we are still stepping in snow!
I was out and about on Friday and Saturday and it wasn’t too bad, but yesterday morning it was snow, sleet and rain so I just got back into bed and pulled the covers over my head. With a dip in overnight temps this morning the roads were slick and trees were bent but at least we are better off than we were this time last year!
Not wearing a skirt or dress today, instead I decided to pull out my “goldenrod” suede suit, what color do you see? By the way, what’s it up with the “color of the dress“ controversy? I tried to get my girls to explain it to me on Saturday night, but actually I just wanted to know whose dress it was but they couldn’t tell me, so if you know, please let me know.
With this suit, the animal print scarf breaks up the color and booties are my go-to ones in the winter. I hope that spring comes soon because stepping into snow and ice with heels can be dangerous! I hope the weather is better where you are, enjoy and be safe!

Hello friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday.
I have gotten away from the OOTD posts because of the weather, hubby is my photographer and he and cold just don’t mix! However, today, the weather is warmer and the sun is brighter so I took advantage of it to get a few shots of my outfit of the day #workwear.
This is a short work week for me so on Sunday I didn’t prepare my outfits for the entire week as I normally do. This outfit was pulled together last minute before heading to bed and the mixing of polka dots and animal print seems to work, what do you think?
Taking full advantage of not only the bright sunshine but also the lack of snow, I chose to wear a pair of my favorite pumps from DSW, along with a pair of light color hose. The pencil skirt and polka dot top are both thrifted from Goodwill and the cardigan …. can’t remember where purchased #seniormoment
Monday was much colder so I wore my OTK Suede boots and if you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen these, which are my all time favorite suede boots.
I do hope you all are enjoying your day and I can’t wait to see your “Go Red for Women” OOTD on Friday, don’t forget to stop by and link up with Robin @robincharmagne and I.
