TO ALL THE MOMS, GRANDMAS, NANAS, AUNTIES AND SISTAH’S
If you, like hubby and I are missing your mother or grandmother today, grab a box of tissues, sit back and listen to some of our favorite “Miss My Mama Music” videos.
Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world. This is a throwback to last month and Mother’s Day. Although my youngest wasn’t able to be home, he did call me at the crack of noon to say, “Happy Mother’s Day” before going back to bed…aah the life of a college student.
Anywho, Tayair and I took our traditional Mother’s Day pictures under my grandmother’s favorite tree which was in full bloom. Although we didn’t go out for brunch, hubby did make a great dinner and took these cute pics of me in my Mother’s Day Maxi.
Yes, he said something inappropriate…and I liked it!
This Jersey Knit maxi was hanging in the closet with the tags still on it. I found it on the clearance rack at Target last year. #dressforless
The belt was thrifted from Goodwill
And for once….no shoes!
What did you wear on Mother’s Day?

Disclosure: I received a watch from JORD in exchange for this review, however, opinions are 100% my own.
I believe that Mother’s Day should be celebrated more than once a year and I also think that it should last for more than 24 hours. Now with both of my sons in college spending time with them has become even more important.
Every year on Mother’s Day hubby stays home so that the boys and I can spend the day together and we always go out to brunch. Of course, they give me the customary bunch of flowers and a kiss…on the forehead, but this year it’s going to be different. Along with brunch, flowers and a forehead kiss, I am getting the gift of time, and that gift is compliments from Jord Watch.
Moms everywhere knows the importance of spending time with their kids because they grow up so fast and it’s time that we can never get back. The picture below is from Mother’s Day 2013 and if you have kept up with my Instagram photos you know how much my sons have grown and matured in two short years.
I am wearing the Ely style in Maple which compliments any outfit that I wear during the week and on the weekends. My friends over at Jord wants to share the gift of time with another special mom, so enter today for a chance to win a watch of your own!
If you click on the link below you’ll be taken to their website where you will see a large selection of lovely watches, then come back here and leave a comment as to which watch you’d love to win.
This Rafflecopter Giveaway is open to US residents only and will end on May 1st, so that your gift of time can arrive in plenty of time before Mother’s Day!
I like it because for the little ones that can’t cook it’s a perfect breakfast to make for Mom on Mother’s Day. However, if you’re a Mom that likes to wake up to something hot (not dad), and a little bit more filling, (not dad) then try this recipe for a Slow Cooked Breakfast Casserole, it’s easy to make and cooks itself overnight.
Ingredients:
1 – 12 oz package frozen hash browns
1 – package breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
12 oz shredded cheese
6 – *scallions chopped
8 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper – a few more dashes when layering the hash browns
I purchased Jimmy Dean fully cooked turkey sausage and *Safeway brand frozen potatoes with onions and green peppers so I didn’t use the scallions. I originally made this back in December after seeing the recipe on Brown Eyed Baker’s blog. Like she said, it was hard to stay asleep because around 5:00 am, the smell and aroma that generated from the kitchen woke me up!
On Saturday night’s I’m usually up late watching television and working on my blog, so this is a perfect recipe to start late for an early morning Sunday breakfast.
After spraying the crock pot with cooking spray, layer 1/3 of the hash browns, sprinkle on some pepper, add 1/3 of the sausage then sprinkle on some cheese. Repeat until all ingredients are used making sure the last layer is the cheese.
In a large bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, and pepper. Pour this over the hash browns, sausage and cheese in the crock pot.
Slow cook on low for 6-8 hours – try to get some sleep because the smell will definitely wake you up before your alarm clock does!
Pour a cup of coffee or tea then enjoy your early morning breakfast casserole in bed! What do you think, is this something you would enjoy waking up to?
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
Don’t forget to come back at 6:00 p.m. for the #WWDParty!
