Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!!!!!
This week really flew by and there’s definitely a chill in the air – “it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” – are you getting excited? I don’t have any major plans for the weekend and since my sons are older I don’t have to stress about the holidays but I do want to make a Gingerbread house.
Tomorrow night I may walk around the neighborhood taking pics of the pretty houses or perhaps just sit on the sofa watching movies drinking Egg Nog. What are your plans for the weekend?

“The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.”
For this I wish to acknowledge and say THANK YOU to Deb Sullivan, a local Real Estate Agent for RE/Max 1st Choice, who for the last 13 years has set up mobile Drop Off Sites for Toys for Tots in the Middletown, Odessa and Townsend communities. Every year Deb or one of her agents uses their personal vehicles to serve as a drop off site in over 20 communities. The signs are posted in advance with the scheduled date and time and it has become a tradition that I and many others look forward to each year. Once I missed our scheduled date but was able to drive to another community the next day with the donation. These mobile drop off sites are an easy and convenient way to put a smile on a child’s face on Christmas morning.
Although there has been a decrease in the number of people donating those who do are giving more which is such a blessing. Toys and gifts for kids ages 3-8, are in high demand because that is the age group which mostly still believe in Santa and don’t quite understand hardships. My sons are older and I no longer have to buy toys for them so it’s fun to shop and donate in their honor.

I found this great article on a large donation from Mrs. Obama and members of the White House staff – http://praisecleveland.com/1413359/first-lady-michelle-obama-drops-off-900-gifts-for-annual-toys-for-tots-drive/?omcamp=es-wppz-nl

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
Today’s titled post; “Broken Boot Heel” makes me wonder why I bought these boots in the first place. I like the color but am no longer excited about them nor do I think they are cute. Perhaps if I had worn them with long pants or a maxi skirt? Hmm…well, I’m wearing them today but will probably donate to Goodwill before the end of the season.
What do think?

There are so many interpretations for today, 12 12 12, but only one fact ~ none of us will be alive to see another repeating-number-date!
I’ve read that the number 12 is prominent, 12 is a number of universal imports seen in our culture; 12 hours of the day, 12 months of the year, 12 in a dozen, 12 zodiac signs, 12 apostles, and 12 days of Christmas. There are suggestions to enjoy the beauty of the procession of the December holidays, starting by lighting miracles in the days of Hanukkah, leading to the gateway day of 12.12.12; stepping through the threshold of December 21, the Winter Solstice; walking into the 12 days of Christmas, and finally embracing the seven principles of Kwanzaa for a renewed human experience.
Whatever the interpretation, I do plan on doing something special by being extra kind to someone and paying it forward, it will be a small gesture to make this day bigger and more significant than the others.
Are you planning or have you done something special to mark this day?
Don’t forget that tonight is the 12-12-12 Concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy – wonder what Kanye has to say about President Obama?

Thursday I drove to Goodwill in Exton, it had been a while since I was there last and I’m on the hunt for scarves and striped shirts. I didn’t find either but I did find some other Goodwill Goodies. Remember the post when I stated that I was looking for Cowboy boots, well it took almost 4 months but I found them, a pair of NEW Mossimo (Target) boots for $8.99!
Chaus Blue Skirt and Morgan Taylor Studio Red Skirt – $3.50 each
apparenza blouse (new with tags) and Soft Works print top – $1.75 each
$5.25 outfits
Oversize Nutcracker Grey Sweater (will wear over leggings) and New York & Company Knit Top – $3.50 each
Valet for my son – $8.97 // Towel holder – $2.97, I’ll use for bracelets or necklaces
Dolce&Gabbana Purse – $10.50
I liked these cute Anne Klein shoes but they weren’t my size
Next week I’ll hit Thorndale!

Hello Friends and Happy Monday, 15 days until Christmas and the 7th day of Hanukkah 2012.
Today is one of those, “jump back into bed pull the covers over your head” type of days. It’s cold, damp and dreary, but it’s also another day the Lord has kept us so I’ll rejoice and be glad in it. However, the dreary weather is cause for my dreary outfit including the sensible shoes.

Hello friends and Happy Sunday, I hope you had a fantastical weekend. Mine was spent decorating with still more to do because I HAVE TOO DAMN MUCH! I have decorations that are 25 years old from stores no longer in existence, remember ‘Caldor’? My son didn’t want to use all the decorations which was fine with me, and we didn’t put the ornaments on the tree because I want to do that with both sons. It’s always fun to unpack the ornaments they made in Elementary school, or the special Hallmark ones that I gave them as kids. We will do that together next weekend and maybe even make a Gingerbread House afterwards – yea right- those days are gone forever.
In the boxes are also many memories – I still have the stockings for my sister and grandmother.
Season’s Greetings – Smooches!

The best day of the work week!
One of my Friday night rituals is to stop at Pockets Discount Liquors in New Castle for a bottle of Barefoot Sweet Red wine. This evening was no exception, however, tonight they were hosting a taste testing. Shannon Heinz, proprietor of Schnizzie Vodka was providing samples of her newly released Sparkling Vodka Cocktail. Schnizzie is an all natural, sparkling cocktail made with premium vodka infused with real strawberries, distilled from sugar cane and sweetened with light agave nectar. It is gluten free and made in New York, my sample was poured over ice but can be consumed chilled without ice.
Schnizzie is the first Sparkling Vodka Cocktail on the market but the quality can be compared to Ciroc or Van Gogh Vodka. Shannon has had several taste testings throughout the state and more information can be found on her Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/schnizzie. Packaged in a cellophane bag makes it a perfect holiday gift or in my case a great drink while decorating the house.
Goodnight and remember to always drink responsibly.

My cubicle wall is filled with pictures of my sons at various stages in their lives, there was as time when they would eagerly pose for pictures anytime I asked. Now not so much, now I have to practically bribe or promise that I won’t capture their faces. When I ask son #2 to take a picture he runs as fast as he can, but yesterday morning I complimented his look so he reluctantly “posed ” for these pictures.
One day he is going to have to deal with this with his own kids – lol!
