I have a LOVE-HATE relationship with Tar’jay – I love their clothing and shoes and of course their awesome clearance sales but I hate that I can’t resist leaving without making a major purchase. I drive past Target on Route 202 everyday and have been patiently waiting for their Cap Toe shoes to go on sale. They were the “must haves” for the holidays with many bloggers Instagraming pictures, but I refused to pay full price. I wanted a pair in red so last night I finally decided to stop…OMG!!!

Unfortunately, I was unable to find a pair of red, Cap Toes in my size but I did get these jewel-toned, embellished and zebra print loafers for $7.48 pair!

I checked the accessories and found a tote in Cognac which is a very neutral color that works well with most outfits.

I also purchased two pencil skirts and 2 tops but if you are looking for colored skinny jeans they have a large assortment of colors and patterns most priced below $20.00.

Don’t forget to bring in your own reusable bag for an additional 5 cents off per bag. Check your local Target for more amazing clearance deals – Happy Shopping!

In our house cold weather signals the time for a hardy and healthy winter soup! My grandmother (RIP Mama), used to make the best homemade vegetable soups, I can still taste the seasoned carrots, tomatoes, onions, celery and of course the soup bone with marrow. I was looking for new recipes and came across one that included kale which is my favorite vegetable.
Ingredients:
kale, soup beans, canned tomatoes, garlic, frozen veggies and soup stock.
I was going to use the smoked turkey necks but there wasn’t enough room in the pot. I had to use a larger crock pot because the bag of beans which had soaked overnight really expanded and I didn’t want to discard any of them. After spraying the crock pot with cooking spray I poured in the frozen veggies, beans, tomatoes, a spoonful of garlic and then topped with handfuls of kale. One packet of the homestyle stock was dissolved in warm water enough to cover the beans.
Cooked on low for 8-10 hours.
I came home to a house smelling GOOD and a fully prepared dinner! This soup was healthy, delicious and very filling, hubby topped his with a little Goat Cheese and I added a piece of brown bread (carbs are my down fall) and hot sauce!

Hello Friends and Happy Back to Work Monday!
The fog this morning was still quite thick making for a slow yet smooth commute into work. I guess a lot of people decided to work from home because the office is quiet, providing me an opportunity to take a few pictures in house. Unfortunately I no longer have the ability to work from home….those days are gone forever. How about you, does your employer provide a WFH or flexible work schedule policy?

Skirt and Blazer – thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill) // Top – closet staple // Attention Peep Toe Pumps – via Kmart // Necklace & Earring Set – Dollar General

On Saturday night I rode with my girlfriend downstate to Lewes, DE, she is an Independent Consultant for Passion Parties and had been booked for a 7:00 show. I had previously attended a party she hosted but this was my first time attending as a non-guest, so I sat in the back and observed. Most of the ladies all in their early 20’s had never attended a Passion Party and it was hilarious watching their reactions to some of the products. The hostess had chosen a Hawaiian Theme for the show and had decorated with leis, beach towels, sea shells and served fresh fruits as well as a variety of libations including Jello Shots. I am not familiar with them so I didn’t know what they contained, however, I do know it was alcohol. As the night wore on and thanks to the shots and other beverages their laughter increased and intensified. The ladies were grad students newly married or in long term relationships and all lived in the development so they would walk home safely (Drink Responsibly).
Shawn did an excellent job in keeping them focused throughout her presentation which became a bit more challenging after several Jello Shot toasts. Overall they had a great “Girls Night In” and the hostess thanked Shawn for what turned out to be a successful party!

Valentine’s Day is a month away and if you are interested in a Passion Party or would like to order from the catalog, please contact Shawn @ http://passionbyshawn.yourpassionconsultant.com/.

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday – on this the beginning of a new week I hope your day is going well.
Saturday was an eventful day but the most memorable event was the sunset that occurred around 4:45 pm, unfortunately I delayed and missed getting a few shots. However, if you look closely at these pictures you can catch a glimpse of it over my shoulder in the far background.

I was leaving to accompany my girlfriend who was going to Lewes, DE for a “Passion Party” She is a consultant and asked if I could ride with her because of the distance. Driving down wasn’t bad but coming back the fog was so thick it made for a slow return home.

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
This morning I jumped out of bed when I realized it was Friday….tomorrow I can sleep in – yay! I am such a sleepy head, I never get enough sleep – sometimes I am tired of being tired. Commuting back and forth to work 1 & 1/2 hours each way every day really takes a toll on me and my car. Tomorrow I am sleeping in until noon!!!
How many of you remember Elvis Presley’s hit, Blue Suede Shoes – well this is my version of the shoe, actually booties and they are much nicer than what he sang about. If you do remember Elvis, what was your favorite song or movie, I liked Blue Hawaii.
These blue studded booties by Bamboo were purchased several years ago from Burlington Coat Factory and the skinny jeans were $16.44, from “Wally World” (Walmart). They had several different colors and I may have to get another pair because of the fit. I chose 1 size up because they are low riders, but I think I can get away with a pair in my regular size. The sleeveless tank was purchased on clearance from Boscov’s, and the jacket was thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill). Silver cuff bracelet from Citi Trend, rings and earrings from my jewelry box.
Wednesday, my son’s Business Class went on a Field Trip to Macy’s in NYC, he purchased a pair of Nike Sneakers and this T-Shirt which I thought was really nice. I can’t wait until he no longer wants it because I’d love to wear it!
Have a fantabulous weekend – Smooches!
