Hello friends and Happy Tuesday! Today I’m at work in West Chester, PA and it’s the first snow fall of the season. I am fully prepared in a polka dot knit top and black suede skirt both thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill). Purple mid-calf leather boots and black tights are from Ross.
This was my first blog post submitted via my Smartphone so the pictures are a little small.
I hope your day goes as planned and if you are driving in this tonight – be safe – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Cyber Monday, are you shopping online today? There are a few items that I’d like to get but nothing major so I think I’ll wait until this evening or perhaps even after the holidays for deeper discounts. On Black Friday I didn’t go to the mall instead I went to GW Boutique (Goodwill) in Middletown, it wasn’t crowded so I was able to take my time to find a few items knowing that I would return Saturday for the 50% off sale.
Oxblood Skirt
Jonathan Martin Polka Dot Skirt
Dressbarn 3/4 sleeve blouse
Mix It Blouse
Style & Co. Polka Dot Knit Top
Apt. 9 Brown and White Polka Dot Shirt Sleeve Blouse
In Vain Polka Dot Short Sleeve Blouse
Jones New York Polka Dot Maxi Skirt
Worthington mini dot skirt
All items were $3.75 each, I would have waited until Saturday but didn’t want the hassle of relocating them and I am not one who “hides” merchandise- lol
WantedShoes.com Leather Studded Pumps – $4.00
Givenchy Parfume Quilted tote – $2.00
Perfect size for carrying my iPad, note pad, wallet and cell phone
Holiday heels unfortunately were not my size
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!

Living in New York in the ’80’s, I was always invited to “Purse Parties” and in addition to getting “designer inspired” bags on the low, it was a fun way to spend time with girlfriends. Advance ahead to 2012, and once again I am being invited to “Purse Parties”, this time via Facebook but still an opportunity to get “designer inspired” bags and accessories on the low and spending fun time with girlfriends.

Today in celebration of “Small Business Saturday” I met my girlfriend at The Java House Cafe in Middletown, not just for Mark’s famous Jerk Chicken Panini’s but for the pleasure of supporting this local business. According to statistics small businesses have created two of every three U.S. jobs and to spur further job growth, the Obama administration aims to cut taxes for small businesses and expand entrepreneurs’ access to financing.
The Java House Cafe is a striving local business that has received numerous accolades as well as visits from Governor Markell. The atmosphere inside the cafe is warm and inviting with plenty of space for a relaxing lunch or hosting an impromptu meeting with free WiFi access.
Our next stop was across the street to Purple Sage Herbs & Gifts. This wonderful world of sights and smells was established on Main Street in 2004, and it was my first visit, however, it definitely will not be my last. Upon entering the front door your nose is greeted with scents that immediately relaxes your mind body and soul. Nostalgia is the word that comes to mind, whether it’s the memories of your grandmother’s parlor or the smell of incenses burning in your living room it’s nothing but happy memories. I was so overwhelmed that I knew that I needed to come back just to take in all the herbs, teas, candles, skin care products, jewelry and other items that are so neatly and highly organized in this wonderful small town shop. FREE tea and coffee tastings take place the first Saturday of every month and they were voted the Best Gift Shop by Middletown Readers. There’s an upstairs which I didn’t take an opportunity to visit but they offer massages, Reiki, Reflexology, Body Wraps, Cranio Sacral, and other relaxing services, which are all perfect gift ideas, especially after the hectic holidays.
Our last stop was at the tattoo parlor owned and operated by Shane ONeill who was a winner of InkMaster on Spike TV.
We didn’t make a purchase and it was my first visit to a tattoo parlor – interesting to say the least. I secretly do want two small doves tated on my foot in memory of my sis and grandmother but would never have the nerve to get it done!
I hope you had an opportunity to shop locally in your town it’s not only good for the economy, it’s good for the community – WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER – Smooches!

Hello friends and happy Saturday, “Shop Small Business Saturday” which is a wonderful event to promote and support local businesses during the holiday season. Before shopping locally in Middletown I had to pick up my new glasses from Halpern Eye Care and was excited to get them. When I went in for my annual appointment I spent well over an hour trying on different frames to find just the right ones and I think this time I did! I chose a sunglasses frame by the Guess brand and they fit my face just as I wanted them too. It didn’t hurt that the case is a leopard print although it’s large and bulky.
The winter weather is knocking on the back door so I had to break out the bin of sweaters, this one belonged to my sister and is one of my favorites. I love these fingerless gloves which were purchased several years ago from Kmart. Jeans and purse were thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill), scarf purchased from “The Bag Lady” Home Purse Party, boots are closet staples, earrings from Rugged Wearhouse and XOXO Sunnies were won in a Penny Chic contest.
I hope you have a fantabulous evening – Smooches!

Hello friends and Happy Fri-Yay, Black Friday! I hope you all had a good day and if you were out shopping for deals you found some great ones! I started my day early but didn’t get out of the house until almost noon. I went to Goodwill for a little thrifting and tomorrow all clothing is 50% off so I’ll definitely be going back. This evening I attended a Home Purse Party with a friend and purchased a nice designer inspired Michael Kors bag.
I wore my black jeans and jacket today for Black Friday but changed my top, boots and bag for the Purse Party.
Have a wonderful night – Smooches!

Hello friends and Happy Thanksgiving, I hope you all had a blessed day and are now relaxing comfortably in warmth and gratitude. I pray for all who are without the basics and that are suffering from any misfortune. God has blessed me and my family and for that I am truly thankful.
This year I made a small meal consisting of an 8 lb. turkey, collard greens, sweet potato casserole, and mac and cheese. My mother-in-law was transferred to Heartland Hospice so hubby spent the day with her, the boys and I just grabbed a plate and sat at the table. This was only the 2nd time since the death of my grandmother that I didn’t set the dining room table, but it didn’t take away from the spirit of the day.
Dinner is done and now I am plopped on the sofa, hubby and son went to Walmart for the 10:00 sale, to get a 40″ TV. He just called, they are giving out 98 tickets and there are approximately 60 people in line. They are inside waiting, hubby in his stadium chair so we may be getting a new tv tonight – yay! I may drive down to capture a few pictures, oops no can do (Barefoot).

Hello friends and Happy Tuesday before Thanksgiving
Yesterday, after work I met with two representatives from The Money School of Delaware. They had read my post, “From Purses to Portfolios” and were so impressed that they offered me an opportunity to create their blog as well as host various training webinars. Attending events and writing about women’s issues mixed with the fashion and savings was exactly where I wanted to take this blog. Now that this has come to fruition so quickly I want to thank God for I am truly blessed and look forward to working with some great people at The Money School.
I will keep you posted as to when it goes live because it will be separate from my dedivahdeals blog.
