If you are like me, you are NOT ready for back to school ~ not ready for going back to the routines ~ not ready for going back to the early morning regiment ~ not ready to go back to the homework, tests and projects. I know this too shall pass, but give me just a few more months to adjust and I’ll be happy!
Malik will be a Junior in High School so all he needed was new sneakers, a jacket and shirts & other than a backpack and according to him a car (yea right) we are done. I don’t need to buy school supplies because I’ve have a full stock which was purchased in bulk at the end of the season at Walgreens.
August 28th is knocking at the back door – Malik is ready – mommy isn’t

Yesterday I had a dental appointment and because I live in Delaware, it didn’t make since to drive to work in Pennsylvania afterwards so I took a vacation day. The weather was extremely nice, not too hot and humid so instead of a maxi dress, I wore shorts, and a tank top with flip flops. I joined the BLMGirls Facebook group and while reading the blogs I found recommendations for various photo editing websites, I used Pixl to edit and create this collage.

It appears as though the summer’s season of shoes are being cleared out in preparation for the new fall collections at Burlington Coat Factory. I’m desperately trying to wear all of my summer shoes/sandals at least once before the end of the season, but I must admit that I am getting excited for the new fall styles.
They also had some cute purses

Today’s outfit of the day features a skirt hubby gave me last year for Eid al-Fitr, which is the Islamic holiday celebrating the end of Ramadan. In addition to this Kimono Skirt he also ordered for me a few other skirts and tunics from EastEssence.com all of which I love. This white, cotton, wrap skirt is very flattering and the hand-stitched embellishment, piping around the pockets and buttons really enhances the look. This is a large which is my normal size and it falls loosely over the hips and is not binding, I would have worn my shirt tucked in as shown on the website but you can see my underwear so I decided against it – hubby agreed!
Wrap Skirt – EastEssence.com// Top – closet staple// Bracelets – Burlington Coat Factory// Ring – Jewelrymax.net// Earrings – Fashion Bug// Watch – Avon// Wedge Sandals – Ross
At work – skirt has two side pockets

Last spring while shopping at Goodwill in Exton, PA, I saw this dress and immediately fell in love with the pattern. Sunday night while watching the 10:00 news I noticed reporter Luann Cahn had the same patterned dress, but I bet she didn’t get it from Goodwill for $5.00! This is the first time wearing it this summer and once again thanks to Saturday’s picnic, it fits like a glove!

Now is the perfect time to take advantage of the end of the season sales and clearance racks. Sleeveless dresses can easily transition into the fall by simply adding a jacket or blazer. Throw on an over sized knit sweater, change from open toe sandals to tights and boots and the dress can be worn well into the winter months. Here are a few dresses that I found at Ross for $12.99, and Burlington Coat Factory for $16.99, some of which will definitely be worn during the cooler months.

I woke up Saturday to “Mom…mom…mom” while being poked in the back….”mom mom are we still going shoe shopping? Oh yea, that got me up and going, it was music to my ears. He actually wanted new sneakers but shoe shopping in any shape, fashion or form is a good day. I had two DSW coupons for $25.00 off my next purchase as well as a balance on a gift card so that’s where we were headed but first we stopped at Burlington Coat Factory. Malik is still on the Graduated License program for supervised driving so I was a passenger on this mission.

It’s a Good Day – my son is taking me shoe shopping!
He found a pair of Cadillac sneakers for $25.00 (yea Malik) but also 2 jackets and a watch, me…nothing but pictures which I will post later. I’m not sure if they are pairing down the shoe department or waiting for the Fall collections, but they really didn’t have anything that called out “buy me buy me”. The price of the sneakers and jackets wasn’t bad but the cashier asked if I would complete a phone survey, for which I would receive 20% off the highest priced item. Sure, so after completing the survey she re-rang one of the jackets saving me an additional $15.00. It’s a a Good Day!
Next we drove over to DSW, Malik didn’t find anything but I found a cute pair of Chinese Laundry suede pumps for less than $10.00! They were on clearance, 30% off $49.94, and using my two coupons and gift card nothing came out of my wallet, Saturday Shoe Shopping with Son was a VERY good day!!
Clearance $49.94 plus 30% off plus $25 off coupons = $9.96 – used gift card – paid $0

Good Tuesday morning, the 2nd day of the 3rd heat wave of the year, so stay cool and hydrated and if you know any elderly please check in on them. Today I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to mix patterns but only with the shoes. At first I was a little uneasy but it doesn’t look that bad, so next time I may try mixing other wardrobe pieces.
