Hello Friends and Happy Thankful Thursday!
Last week was an emotional roller coaster filled with both highs and lows. Monday, I taught a Blogging 201 class:Monetizing Your Blog, and it was a full house despite the torrential downpour of rain.
Everyone was enthusiastic, asked questions and participated in lively discussions, it was one of the best classes to date. Thank you again Money School of Delaware for giving me this opportunity not only to share knowledge but to sharpen my skills and expand my base.
Teaching again is helping to lay the foundation for my 5-year plan leading up to retirement/encore entrepreneurship.
My outfit of the day was a black pencil skirt with floral embroidery thrifted from Goodwill, a sleeveless mock neck tank also thrifted from and faux snakeskin pumps via Target.
On Thursday, I wore another black pencil skirt but this one was from JCPenney and the striped top is from Old Navy.
I broke up the classic black and white combination with a pop of red in the Caliente pumps from The Shoe Dept and a red plastic bracelet from Rugged Wearhouse.
The polka dot scarf was a recent purchase from Avon. By the way, if you are looking to update your fragrances or cosmetics Avon has some great deals going on, some even includes FREE shipping, click here for more information.
Thursday was also my sister’s birthday, had she lived, she would have been 51 – Not A Day Goes By….
Although, I am thankful that I had her 29 years, I still feel that she is gone too soon – Rest in Peace Lil Sis!
Your turn, what are you thankful for this week?

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
TGIF, this week has been such an emotional roller coaster that I am looking forward to just kicking back, relaxing and reflecting on our many blessings. I am also looking forward to cleaning out the bottom of my closet and under the beds. Spring is officially here so now it’s time to put away the winter shoes and boots and bring out the sandals. I stopped at Target yesterday to pick up a few groceries and of course made a quick detour through the shoe department. No shoe haul this time but my little eyes did spy several pairs of shoes on clearance that are on my wish list. I also checked out the the Kate Young Collection, this celebrity stylist’s glam collection includes jewelry, handbags and shoes ranging in prices from $15.00 to $90.00.
The only pair that I added to wish list were these yellow cork sandals on sale for $24.99
clearance ankle strap sandals and wedges
Mossimo and xhiliration Heels
Flats
Mossimo Color Block Sandals – $19.99
Lonely Prabal Gurung dress on the clearance rack

My sons were blessed to have had their great grandmother living with them since birth. My maternal grandmother who raised me, had lived with us for 16 years until she passed at the age of 98 on May 1, 2009. My sons enjoyed being with her just as much as she enjoyed being with them. When they were toddlers she read to them and played a lot of games with them. Even when she could no longer get down on the floor she still played and BEAT them in checkers.. Yes, she beat the babies – hey they had to learn defeat at some point in their lives!
She transitioned about an hour before they got home from school so they were able see her, say goodbye and shed their tears before the mortician came to get her body. To this day, they believe that Nana is watching over them and oftentimes talk about the good times and how much they still miss her. A week ago I got a call from the school because Malik was crying uncontrollably, he later admitted that he was thinking about Nana and all his emotions came pouring out. So it’s no wonder that he got mad at me when I tried to sell a jewelry box that once belonged to her at last weekend’s flea market. It was marked $3.00 but no one bought it – I guess there was a reason, so I told him that if he really wanted it he could keep it, we changed it to fit his bedroom decor (lol).
I truly love my son because his heart is pure.
