Hello friends
I hope you are enjoying the day and all is good in your neighborhood. I still haven’t decided as to where we will be going to see fireworks. We will either go to Wilmington and see Macy Gray, or downtown Middletown or maybe just stay home and watch WaWa Welcome America featuring Kevin Hart, The Roots, Ne-Yo, Jill Scott, and others.
Where do you go to see 4th of July fireworks?
This is what I wore to work yesterday, how do you like my Red White & (Polka Dot) Blue outfit?

Hello Friends and Happy Fri-Yay!
Here we go again…another summer weekend, will it be hot and dry or cool and rainy? Last Saturday was a perfect day and I had plans of lounging poolside all afternoon, but sometimes pool maintenance can change the best laid plans. I often dream of having a “Pool Boy”, someone to keep the chemicals balanced, remove the debris and skim the leaves…someone too…HOLD ON…wait a minute!
Hubby wouldn’t like that very much and I would probably end up getting someone like Nick Cannon in “Love Don’t Cost A Thing!”
We’ve had our pool for about 18 years and there is always maintenance involved some more intense than others like the replacement of tiles. These fell off a few years ago and it took me too many hours on Saturday to replace them.

I stopped at Leslie’s Pool Supplies and purchased Patch It, it wasn’t hard to make the putty but like that scene from The Cosby Show, I’d seal one tile and another would fall off – it was frustrating to say the least.

After several hours of this I gave up but only after using the entire bucket!

Of course then I had to vacuum out the residue and skim the leaves!

After all that, I was finally able to sit back and relax for a whole 2 hours!!

So if you happen to be in the neighborhood – stop by & bring a cold one…AND a Pool Boy!

Have a fantastical day – Smooches!

Oprah Winfrey launched the OWN Network on January 1, 2011, but I have to admit that I didn’t know what channel it was on nor what shows were being featured. That has since changed with the introduction of Tyler Perry’s two new hit shows, The Haves and The Have Nots on Tuesday nights and Love Thy Neighbor on Wednesday nights. My television cable box is now locked on VerizonFios Channel 161!
Tyler Perry, the genius behind the “Madea” stage plays and movies, had made his mark on the small screen with the TBS sitcoms House of Payne, Meet The Browns and For Better or Worse, which was based on his movie Why Did I Get Married?, but he has taken it to a whole new level with The Haves and The Have Nots!
Think of Dynasty, Falcon Crest and Dallas all rolled up for the 21st century, where the deceit and duplicity is doubled, but praying and thanking Jesus is the foundation. Not only is prayer and a strong belief in God prominently displayed in these shows, it is also what makes Tyler Perry the man that he is today. I honestly believe that his mother is sitting in Heaven on the right side of God, nudging him, saying, “see…see…that’s my boy…watch him work!”
Love Thy Neighbor is a sitcom featuring Mama Hattie, a strong woman running a diner, working hard and trying to keep her recently divorced daughter off her couch, because she just got her recently employed grandson off of it! I love Hattie’s feistiness and warm heart, and her voice will you have sitting upright. It seems as though all the cast members work extremely well together, each bringing their own style and flair. The stand outs are Tika Sumpter, who plays Candace, the beautiful devil diva in The Haves and The Have Nots, and Jonathon Chase, who plays Sam in Love Thy Neighbor, a hilarious man-child whose comedic timing and mannerisms reminds me of a young Jim Carrey!
If you haven’t seen The Haves and The Have Nots or Love Thy Neighbor, I urge you to check them out, I know once you start you’ll be hooked. When you do, make sure to join in on the weekly Twitter Chats because you never know, your tweet just might be retweeted by Oprah or Tyler – mine were!

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend, the weather was simply gorgeous in Delaware despite a few intermittent rain drops. Saturday I spent most of the morning in my son’s closet gathering clothes to be donated to the Cancer Federation. He doesn’t outgrow his clothes as quickly as his younger brother, but I was able to find enough to fill two large bags.

Saturday evening hubby and I attended a celebration in honor of his friend’s 60th birthday. Hollywood is a long time friend and is the lead singer of Hollywood And The Final Kutt Band. They have played all over Delaware and can be seen next at the World Cafe Live in Wilmington on September 5th.

He and his wife live in a lovely row home in Wilmington where they have created a mini outdoor sanctuary filled with plants, a fish pond, cats, dogs and birds.

For several hours we talked, laughed, shared stories and simply enjoyed ourselves in blessings and celebration of this milestone birthday.

Did you have an opportunity to spend time with your family or friends this weekend?

On Sunday, a second book signing was held at The Java House Cafe in Middletown with local author, Jacqueline Charmane. Jacqueline’s book, “They Raped Me Once Over and Over Again“ is her fifth book and the first one not self-published. In addition to being an author, Jacqueline is a Christian Evangelist and a Comedian (Mother Maeye). As a student at The University of Delaware she received numerous awards and accolades and was even honored as “Most Likely to Succeed” but her dreams were turned into nightmares and she dropped out of school.
Jacqueline eventually returned to school and began working for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and while commuting on a train she met her rapist and father of her only son. Rejected she hid the truth and married her boyfriend who thought the child was his. This true story is of how her courage, determination and faith in God helped her survive an abusive marriage, kidnapping of her son, a divorce, depression, a mental breakdown and then the near death of her son.
They Raped Me Once Over and Over Again is not for the faint of heart, it’s a graphic real life account about the things men do to women and the things women do to survive, it will definitely change the way you think about life. Jacqueline’s other books are “A Journal of 52 Days To Your Prosperity“, “I Don’t Do “FRIEND” Marry Me or Be Alone”, “Satan’s Dirty Little Secret Is Out” and “Knowing and Possessing The Attributes of God”
For more information and signing dates, please go to www.jacquelinecharmane.com or call 302-357-4969.
