Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday. We are halfway through another wonderful week and so we have two new shoe contenders, but before we begin, let’s take a look at last week’s You Choose The Shoes winners.
Were they your choice?
Now the shoes that I picked for this week are similar in print but different in style and I wanted them to compete with the pattern in my dress, take a look:
animal print Jessica Simpson’s peep toe pumps from a consignment shop
The dress was thrifted from Goodwill and like I said, I didn’t want to go with a solid color pump, so I stepped outside of the box with the animal print. What do you think – good choice or not?
Open toe versus closed toe, and they are both equally comfortable.
The extra long beaded necklace was a purchase from Rugged Wearhouse, which is my favorite store for costume jewelry.
Which Shoes Do You Choose?
Will it be Jessica Simpson
or
Christian Sirano?
What are your thoughts on mixing patterns, especially with animal prints.
Guess what, I was featured by Whitney at her Personal Style Linkup, so when you get a chance come on over and check it out!
Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday. Thank you all who voted in last week’s “You Choose The Shoes” contest. Although both pairs were great for that outfit, there was one clear winner, the well worn Glo Wedges from Kmart!
This week’s contenders are also well worn closet staples, I don’t even remember from where I purchased the SRO Red Mule Sandals.
SRO Venice Red Mules Sandals
Black Mossimo Black Sandals from Target
This comfy geometric gauze dress was thrifted from Goodwill and is perfect to wear to work or running errands on the weekend.
These Red Mules matches the patio furniture cushions but the nail polishes are definitely clashing – what do you think?
So which pair do you choose?
Black Mossimo Sandals
– or –
Venice Red Sandals?
Today I’m hanging out with Whitney at her Personal Style LinkUp so come on over and check it out.
This evening I will be teaching another Blogging class for The Money School of Delaware (Monetizing Your Blog) so have a great day and we’ll chat tomorrow!
Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday. Although this is a short work week due to the Memorial Day holiday, it seems like it’s dragging by, I guess it’s a sign of having too much fun. Now is the time to get back into a normal routine and cut back on the over eating and drinking. How about you, did you over indulge during the weekend?
Thank you all for your votes, and without further adieu the winner of Week 5 were the thrifted
Enzo Angiolini’s
This week’s contenders are a pair of well-worn Cognac color wedges from Kmart or a pair of never been worn multi-color wedges from Citi Trends.
On this casual Friday I chose to wear a pair of color skinny jeans with a multi-colored top which was thrifted from Goodwill.
Hello Friends, I trust you all had a happy and safe holiday weekend! I am back to work after being off since Thursday and needless to say it is tough getting back into the routine. This outfit is what I wore last Tuesday and with the exception of the jewelry it is Totally Thrifted.
You might remember when I purchased this embroidered skirt and sleeveless tank last winter at Goodwill. It was during one of the many shopping trips I made looking for outfits for the 2014 Goodwill Runway Show. One of the things I like most about thrifting is you can oftentimes find items that are out of season knowing that they are right for when the weather changes. It was the dead of winter cold but I knew this skirt and tank would be perfect for work once the weather warmed.
In selecting the accessories, I decided to mix plastic bracelets with pearl necklaces and earrings. The goldtone watch is from Avon.
The floral embroidery on the skirt matches the patio cushions and umbrella from Home Depot. Speaking of which, did you have a nice Memorial Day weekend? What did you do? On Saturday, we had a graduation party for Malik and it was a blast, I’ll post more on about it on Thankful Thursday.
This has been another blessed week, with our oldest being accepted into the CLSC Program at the University of Delaware and tonight our youngest is graduating from Appoqunimink High School!
I don’t let grass grow under my feet either because in addition to working full time outside of the home I also sell Avon and have been since 2002. Honestly, I don’t have a large customer base but enjoy selling products for a company that has been in business for over 125 years!
I use Anew products on my face and I love how Avon has changed their clothing selections to keep in line with the current trends. Unfortunately, it eats into my profits but that’s okay because I love their accessories, the shoes, sneakers, scarves and especially the totes and purses.
Check out this comfy casual outfit that I wore at the end of April, it’s was totally thrifted from Goodwill but accessorized by Avon.
Scarf – Avon | Polka Dot Top – Goodwill
Polka Dot Sneakers – Avon | Skirt – Goodwill
Color Block Tote – Avon | Black Studded Pumps – The Salvation Army
I am getting so excited in anticipation for the heat of the summer as I’m sure a few of you are as well. Last week it was still a bit cool but the weekend more than made up for it with temps in the 80’s. I can’t wait until it’s officially pool time in just a few short weeks!
Today’s outfit is a combination of JCPenney, Citi Trends, Avon and Target.
The Peplum top is JC Penney, and I was never a big fan of them because I didn’t think they were flattering to my figure – what do you think?
This perfectly color coordinated purse is from Avon (Mark) #loveit Bracelet from Rugged Wearhouse and Necklace and Earring Set from Jewelrymax.net.
I not a big retail shopper and I try to stay away from the malls but I won’t rule out low-end shops like Rainbow, Deb and Citi Trends, which is where I purchased this pencil skirt. #dressforless
The black patent leather Mossimo pumps are from Tar’jay (Target). This is the outfit that I wore to work and later on that evening for teaching a Blogging 101 class at the Bear Library. It was very comfortable all day and worked well for both environments.
I love teaching these Blogging 101 classes because the attendees are awesome!
I’ll be stopping by to see Whitney Nic James for her Personal Style Linkup, come over if you get a chance. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I’ll see ya tomorrow.
Last week after reading a post on the Fabulous after Forty blog, Palazzo Pants – How to Wear Them with Pizazz, I wondered if they are still a popular style for women over 50, because they certainly are for me.
I have several but this particular pair was purchased a few years ago from Ross and are great to wear to work on Casual Fridays.
I remember wearing wide-leg or “elephant” leg pants with platform shoes back in elementary school in the 70’s. I also remember almost falling and breaking my neck walking along a stone wall after my shoe got caught inside that big a$$ pant leg!
Now here I am over 40 years later wearing almost the same style, thankfully the legs aren’t as wide but my question is, “are Palazzo pants still popular or have they played out?”
I’ve worn these pants in previous OOTD posts, but this is the first time they are paired with this thrifted top from Goodwill.
The watch and ring/bracelet are Mark/Avon.
The cut-out sandals are also from Avon, they have really stepped up their shoe game over the years.
So what do you think, are Palazzo Pants still popular or are they Played Out?
This month I’m hanging out with the BloggyMoms and Personal Style Linkup with Whitney – come on over and join in on the fun!
I don’t know about you, but I am having such a blast with this new feature, “You Choose The Shoes“. It’s like having a bunch of friends hang out in my closet helping to chose just the right shoes for an outfit – thank you all!
This week’s choices are either Coconut wedges from Marshall’s or Nine West wedges thrifted from Goodwill.
You Choose the Shoes!
The outfit is a thrifted top from GW Boutique and a cream color ShapeFX skirt from Spiegel Outlet
I think these Nine West shoes are a perfect match in their color and patent leather material for this top. What do you think?
Necklace and Earrings are from the product review that I did for Majestical Jewelry (click here).
These cutout wedges were purchased several seasons ago from Marshall’s and were quite popular. I remember seeing them posted by several fashion bloggers.
Are you ready to choose the shoes?
Which pair did you choose? Personally, I would prefer neither because the feeling of fresh cut grass between my toes feels much better!
Both the top and skirt has been in my closet for such a long time that I can’t remember where purchased. I think the bracelet set was purchased either at Rugged Wearhouse or Burlington Coat Factory.
Have you decided yet?
Look down at the shoes…
…Now look up at the outfit
Okay, Which Shoes Did You Choose?
The winner will be revealed next week!
I’ll be linking up with Whitney Nic James, so come on over when you get a chance.
I wore this end-of-the-season outfit in March, but with all the activity at the end of the month I didn’t get a chance to post it. This is officially the last of the winter wardrobe pics because today it’s going to be 70 degrees…time for a pedicure because the boots have been put away!
Everything was thrifted from Goodwill at different times and from different locations so it was fun putting it all together.
Even though I wore a short sleeve blouse, there was still a slight chill in the air so I opted to wear the brown suede jacket which was also thrifted.
Of the entire thrifted outfit, I like this unique thick belt the best, what do you think?
Remember how excited I was to finally find a pair of Riding Boots, and to find them new at Goodwill for only $18.99 was awesome. The hooks on the back gave them an edgier look which made it a better thrifted find.
Now it’s time to go through my closets and purge items that I did not wear last season or were much too tight thanks to menopausal weight gain or perhaps too much winter wine. Anywho, whatever I find will be re-donated back to Goodwill which is the best part of thrifting.
Today I’m linking up with one of my favorite thriftinistas over at ColorBlind and then I’ll swing by to see DC Goodwill Fashionista so if you get a chance, come on over and check out their thrifty finds.
