OOTD – Popping Pink

Hello friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday.  Like the sun that will be popping through the clouds this afternoon, I am popping a little pink with black.  Black Boots or Pink Pumps was the  dilemma this morning and I am not going to reveal which one I chose.  Tell me which one you like better?

OOTD – Before & After Church

Hello friends, I hope today, the beginning of your new week was a blessed one. I was tired this morning but vowed to get to church and thankfully I did. Service was good but it was “Harvey Day” so it was a bit more crowded and lasted a lot longer, ending at 2:00. I would have stayed for dinner but needed to go grocery shopping so I rushed home, changed clothes and headed to Costco and Safeway.

Traffic on 95 was horrendous, took the exit ramp into the mall only to realize that the traffic lights were out and all the stores in the mall and Costco were closing. We didn’t wait to find out why there was a power outage just quickly turned around and headed back south to Safeway.

I wore a sleeveless dress to church, thrifted from Goodwill covered with a 3/4 sleeve jacket that belonged to my grandmother (RIP Mama). My Mossimo heels from Target, clutch from DSW and “lap cover” scarf from Boscov’s.

After church it was still warm so I threw on a pair of shorts also thrifted from Goodwill, top from Walmart, loafers thrifted from Salvation Army and a belt from my closet.

I hope you have a fantabulous evening!

Goodwill Fall Haul

Saturday was an overcast and cloudy day which put me in the mood to do a little thrifting.  With a dollar limit in mind and a $10 gift card I headed south to Goodwill in Smyrna.  Upon entering the store I grabbed a cart which was taken by an associate because it remained empty and idle for too long.  I was looking around in search of Cowboy boots and I hate pushing the cart in and out of the aisles during my search.  I didn’t find the boots but found a few other items along with another empty cart on the other side of the store.

Aqua Maxi Dress – $5.00 // Bold Spirit Reversible, Suede Jacket – $7.00//St. Johns Bay Green Denim Skirt – $3.75

Style co Polka Dot Top – $3.75// Mootsies Tootsies Faux Leather/Croc Loafers – $5.00

Atrium Collection Blue and White Houndstooth Jacket with Bow – $6.00

As I headed back north to Middletown, I stopped at a small yard sale on Route 13 and purchased a belt and small makeup bag spending $2.00, the ladies were grateful since they hadn’t had a sale all day.  Goodwill in Middletown is undergoing renovations, “to make it a more pleasant shopping experience” which is what the sales associate said – lol.  Once again, the hunt for Cowboy boots was futile however, I did find a few nice skirts for the fall and winter season.

Multi Color, long sleeve top – $3.75// GAP Tweed Skirt – $3.75// Le Suit Black and White Houndstooth Skirt – $3.75

Chaus Green Skirt – $3.75// Mossimo Bronze Peep Toe Shoes – $4.00

Small stain in the tweed skirt came out in the wash and I will be removing the bows on the jacket because it cuts tight across the chest.

OOTD – Maxi Monday

Last week while at Marshalls, I saw the Valerie Bertinelli clothing line and fell in love with this multi-patterned skirt. It’s a comfortable fit with a very high waist which I like because low riding clothes just don’t work for me.

OOTD – The Big Cut Down

As stated in a previous post, when thrifing I don’t let larger sizes deter me from making a purchase because it can always be altered.  This red and white polka dot top was a size 2X that I cut down using another shirt as a guide.  I paired it with black and white polka dot capris also thrifted from Goodwill.

2x large shirt thrifted from Goodwill for $3.75

Folded the shirt in half

Used another shirt as a pattern for re-sizing

Cut out leaving enough fabric to stitch

Belted to cinch the waist a bit more

Red and White Polka Dots paired with Black and White Polka Dot Capri Pants // Sandals – Mossimo via Target

Will not be opening the pool this month!
