I hope and pray that all the Mothers had as nice of a day spent with their children as I did. My Mother’s Day was the fulfillment of one of those “I can’t wait till they grow up and …. “
“I can’t wait till they grow up and talk…I can’t wait till they grow up and are potty trained..I can’t wait till they grow up and walk… I can’t wait till they grow up and go to school…get a job…move out…etc. My “I can’t wait” was having them drive me to lunch and paying for it tip and all!
Although there are times that I long for my sons to be toddlers again, it’s a beautiful thing when they are old enough to appreciate and show
- how much they care without coaxing. I was very surprised when hubby told me that the boys planned on taking me out for lunch and it was a beautiful day with just the two of them. Afterwards we stopped at Lowes to get flowers and of course to Goodwill for the Mother’s Day $5 off $20 sale.

This pallet was $5.00, I guess @DollarTree has to change it’s slogan – “Dollar Tree Where Everything is $1.00”
Here are some cute, inexpensive items that can be purchased, placed in a basket and given as a Mother’s Day gifts.
All of these items are mine – yippee – Happy Mother’s Day to me!!!

Mother’s Day will be bittersweet
- today at 50, I’ve been a mother for almost 20 years
- my grandmother was 50 when I was born, she took me & my sis under her wing at the age of 57 and lived to be 98
- Mother’s Day will be bittersweet
- the parent of a 3 month preemie weighed a mere 2.5 lbs, not sure if he would live or die
- my God is Awesome
- i look in the mirror and see my mother
- bore but did not raise me
- died before I really got to know her
- feared I would have to care for her in her old age
- grandmother said in order to live a long life you have to treat everybody right and pray
- Mother’s Day will be bittersweet
- not a friend but a fierce protector and provider
- mother never saw her grandsons
- a mother of 2 black males – RIP Trayvon
- in the store – keep your hands out of your pockets or they think you are stealing
- don’t lower your eyes
- know your history – never forget where you came from
- work hard
- no fear
- believe and achieve
- no drinking drugs or wild and crazy women
- pray
- bless your food
- be grateful
- study hard
- eat your food
- don’t eat too much candy
- Mother’s Day will be bittersweet
- don’t curse, fight, drink or do drugs
- wash and dry your clothes, sew cook and clean – I am raising some woman’s husband
- slow down you are driving too fast
- look in your rear view mirror
- keep your eyes straight ahead
- at 98 I held her hand as she transitioned, my guardian angel, my protector, teacher, minister and enforcer
- Mother’s Day will be bittersweet
- you got an “F”!
- stop crying
- open up
- you’ll feel better
- didn’t i tell you
- now why did you do that?
- wait for your brother
- are you listening to me?
- what did you say!
- I love you
- here, try this
- be nice
- save your money
- get a job

- what did you do?
- buried my father
- never knew my paternal grandparents
- i had a brother
- my lil sis is gone
- i’ll never be an aunt
- Mother’s Day will be bittersweet
- don’t spit that out
- i said,let’s go
- stop it
- Gloria was killed
- do your homework
- turn off that tv

- change your clothes
- clean your room
- Mother’s Day will be bittersweet
- get up!
- make your bed
- breakfast!

- stop it!
- working hard until he graduates from college
- remembering the fear of his first day on the bus, bigger fear, first day driving alone

- months and months in the hospital
- surgeries, feeding tubes, iv’s, central lines, rsv, nicu, picu
- what did i do to deserve this
- God why?

After lunch with my sons on Mother’s Day, we stopped at Goodwill in Middletown.
2 pairs of Lee walking shorts – $3.75 each
Pair of new, with tags White Stag walking shorts – $3.75
Malik found a pair of Dockers Mens Slacks for $1.88 and a Sean Jean Polo for $3.75
California Krush sleeveless dress – $5.00
A pair of white flats that will become another DIY project.
