El Charro Negro – Authentic Mexican Cuisine
Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world. Today a co-worker and I took time out of our busy schedules to have lunch together away from the office. This was a rare occasion since we both work non-stop, heads down only taking a few minutes each day to brown bag it at our desks.
Not far from the office on Lancaster Avenue is El Charro Negro LLC, a Mexican restaurant that promotes itself on serving AUTHENTIC Mexican Food and they truly deliver on that word.
I don’t know about you, but I have been duped many times eating at restaurants that have claimed to be authentic, only to be disappointed but thankfully this was not the case with El Charro Negro.
Initially I was a little apprehensive about entering as there was only one other car in the parking lot at this noon hour, but not more than 2 minutes passed before customers began streaming in, both for take out and to eat in.
Upon entering the restaurant we were warmly greeted and seated then served a small basket of chips with two types of salsa, of course I chose the spicy one. I liked the fact that it wasn’t a large basket of salty chips because eating that before the meal spoils the taste of the main course. These chips were light in texture and not salty which allowed the true flavor of the homemade salsas to shine through.
I ordered a Horchata water which is made with cinnamon rice milk and it was just the right consistency and flavor to tame the tongue after eating the spicy salsa. I wanted to try something different so I chose Shrimp Enchiladas which was packed with spicy shrimp and Debbie ordered a Beef Chimichanga which was also spicy but not too much for her, both were truly authentic Mexican cuisine.
After our meals were served I asked for the menu back so that I could take this picture and I explained that I was a blogger. There were two gentlemen seated at the next table so when their orders arrived they asked if I wanted to take a picture which I did – thank you kind men!
Our meals, both humongous in size made it impossible for Debbie and I to eat it all, so we both have leftovers for dinner tonight. We did however agree to go back again next month and order something a little lighter … yea right!
So if you are in West Chester, Pennsylvania and are looking for authentic Mexican food, stop in at El Charro Negro, you will not be disappointed.

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
In my current job I no longer have much of an opportunity to travel and my daily commute from Middletown, DE to West Chester, PA can be quite boring. Yesterday I had the chance to make a site visit to Marlton, NJ, or as I like to call it, “Exit 4 on the Jersey Turnpike”. Not to say that driving straight away on the turnpike wasn’t boring because it was, what made it all worthwhile was the location itself.
The building is surrounded with a man made pond that has ducks, a fountain and beautiful flora. The Atrium is also serene and peaceful with tall palm trees, plants and flowers. I think coming into this building on a daily would put anyone in the right frame of mind no matter what the traffic was like in getting there. Here are just a few pictures of the outside, I will post the interior shots tomorrow.

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday
After all the cleaning of the closets I realized that I still didn’t have a decent pair of summer shorts. I also needed wanted a white denim skirt to wear with a pair of blue and white Polka Dot flats. Not wanting to pay retail because I can’t wear shorts to work I instead headed to the GW Boutique in Exton.
I hadn’t been to this location in almost a year and it had definitely changed. They expanded into the vacant shoe store next door to make it larger with a better footprint.
I found a white denim skirt in the first 5 minutes – #winning
Next were the shorts – #winning
3 pair for the price of one in the store!!!
Cute multi-layed tank top
Couldn’t pass up the Polka Dots
Can never have too many shift dresses!
Deal of the Day – Denim Dress
Great thrifted summer haul!

Hello Friends and Happy Saturday!
A few weeks ago at The Java House Cafe I had the pleasure of meeting Marissa G., owner/baker of Eden’s Touch Bread Company. She was there to feature her Specialty Loaves of Homemade Breads, “made with love, no chemicals or preservatives”. Eden’s Touch Bread Company delivers fresh baked products at affordable prices and delivers exceptional customer satisfaction. The bakery is located in Collingdale, PA, however, they ship nationwide as well as make local deliveries to the Philadelphia tri-state area. Eden’s Touch Bread Company also features other items including Gluten Free Gourmet Butter, Croutons and Bread Mixes (menu).
I purchased two of the mini Banana Walnut loaves and couldn’t wait to get them home to try. I had one warm slice with my afternoon tea and then my men ate the rest! I wished I had purchased others to hide store in the freezer, I’ll place an online order.
Eden’s Touch Bread Company is a new business, only a year old and they recently launched a go fund me campaign to raise money for a larger oven. The goal is to raise $500, and if you would like to donate and receive a gift certificate please click the bread pic below.

A few weeks ago it was reported and obviously rebuked by nail technicians that Gel Manicures pose a health risk, that the process of using UV Rays to set the gel can cause skin cancer. But what about Shellac Manicures, do they pose the same risks because the setting method is the same? There are many pros and cons for each including this one, (here), but you have to judge for yourself.
I’ve had both and personally prefer The Shellac for several reasons, the process is quicker; the length under the UV light is shorter and last but not least, it’s cheaper!
Yesterday during my lunch break I went to Nail Paradise in the Frazer Shopping Center, where I received a Shellac manicure by Lisa, a very pleasant nail technician. There were so many pretty bright colors from which to chose but I selected this Midnight Blue, what do you think?
Have you had a Shellac or Gel Manicure – if so, which do you prefer?
Lisa, the Nail Technician, was very pleasant and I enjoyed my “quick pamper”.

Hello Friends, I hope you are having a terrific Tuesday!
Recently, I read an article that had suggestions on the products that you should and should not buy at your local Dollar Stores. I agreed that buying party supplies and paper products was a good idea and with not buying toys which may contain high levels of lead. Purchasing cleaning supplies saves money, but I only buy name brands because some of the others are watered down which makes them a waste of money.
The only statement in the article that I did not agree with was that food items should never be purchased. Granted there are some items in a Dollar/99 Cents store that shouldn’t be purchased because of it’s obvious non-compliance with FDA’s regulations, however, there are a lot of products that I would and have bought at Dollar Tree stores.
The state of the economy has forced us all to be more frugal but my sons are trying to eat me out of house and home! They are always snacking and can easily polish off a large bag of chips in one sitting…wonder where they got that from (lol). Therefore, I am always on the hunt, usually with coupons in hand, in search of snacks that they will eat and be satisfied without breaking the bank.
That’s where Dollar Tree comes in, and it has always been my “go to” store for snacks, even when the boys were small, it was the place to stop before going to the movies. Not all products are sold in all stores and I was surprised with what I found in their freezer section, taking note that packaging was clearly marked Made in the USA, (The Bronx, NY, Altoona, PA, Pennsauken, NJ and Rancho Cucamonga, CA). There are many name brand products made specifically for non-grocery type stores as evidenced by their sizes, however, the quality remains the same and manufacturer’s coupons are accepted.
Turkey Creek Snacks – Pork Rinds/Chicharron (for me)
Pennysticks Brand Pretzels
David Sunflower Seeds
Utz Onion and Garlic Potato Chips
Popcorn Indiana Sea Salt Popcorn
Luigi’s Italian Ice
Baker Best Soft Pretzels
Golden Krust Jamaican Patties
Sapphire Teriyaki Noodles and Vegetables
Our Foods Orange and Teriyaki Chicken
Do you shop at dollar stores, and if so, what do you buy?
Thank you Jennifer and Christine at store # 3730, Beaver Brook Plaza, New Castle, DE, for a pleasant shopping experience. The shelves were fully stocked and the store was very well maintained!
BTW – don’t forget to complete the customer survey on the back of the receipt to enter their sweepstakes!
~~ ALL OPINIONS ARE SOLELY MY OWN – I WAS NOT CONTACTED BY DOLLAR TREE NOR ANY PRODUCT MANUFACTURER FOR AN ENDORSEMENT ~~

Hello friends and Happy Monday…Tuesday sorry – yesterday’s post was dedicated to my mother-in-law so I didn’t feature an outfit of the day. Before I begin I want to thank everyone for their comments as well as prayers because I do believe in the power of it! Yesterday she had a good day and although her body is weak and frail her mind is sharp and active – so keep on praying.
Monday’s outfit was a combo of black and white but I need to use splashes of color, I’ll be looking for some colorful scarves at Goodwill or maybe Plato’s Closet . I have never gone to a Plato’s Closet although there is one in Exton just a few miles from my job, and there is also one about a mile from The Hospice on Limestone Road, I’ll check one of them.
Scarf and Cowl neck top – closet staples // Houndstooth skirt – Goodwill // Black Studded Pumps – Goodwill
I wore a bunch of silver bangles, a pair of silver earrings and silver ring with a red stone, the only splash of color – lol
Again, thank you so much for praying – have a wonderful evening – Smooches!
