Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
On Sunday hubby and I celebrated our 23rd Wedding Anniversary and had dinner at our favorite restaurant, Chesapeake Inn and Marina. This lovely restaurant is located in Chesapeake City, Maryland on the waterfront and overlooks the C&D Canal. We have enjoyed having our Anniversary dinner here for years not only because of it’s location which is only 10 mins from the house, but because it has the best seafood and the atmosphere is enjoyable.
Before leaving for the evening our son took a few pictures of us on the back deck.
When I think back on our courtship, relationship and marriage I can only say – God is Good!
Settled in for our Anniversary Dinner
Overlooking the C&D Canal
Partying on the lower deck
Here’s to another 23!
Linking up today for Thursday Favorite Thing at Katherine’s Corner.
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Mother’s Day 2013!
Sending love to all the moms, mom-moms, nana’s, grandma’s, aunties, cousins, and friends on this beautiful Mother’s Day. Mine was nice and it started with breakfast in bed, hubby made me chicken and waffles with coffee and fruit then we stayed in bed watching a Hazel marathon on Antenna TV. This afternoon my sons took me to Ruby Tuesday for an early dinner, which is now our tradition because that is where they took me last year.
The best meal I never cooked!
Salad, Sirloin and Spicy Shrimp – Pomegranate Margarita

Hello Friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and not having to cook gave me more time to be outside and enjoy it. Saturday I was set up at Dutch Country Farmer’s Market, and although there was a lot of foot traffic I didn’t do as well as expected. I did manage to sell a lot of books, some household items and a few pieces of jewelry, but the clothing that did not sell was donated to Goodwill. Hubby and the boys chose Chinese Takeout for dinner so it was Shrimp Fried Rice, Steamed Vegetables and Chicken Mei Fun.
Today we all worked outdoors, hubby and the sons on the lawn and cars, me with setting out the patio furniture and cushions before doing the weekly grocery shopping. I knew I wasn’t going to cook a Sunday dinner so instead we went to Farmer’s Famous Fish for sandwiches and fries.
It was another busy weekend for them with customers lining up and waiting from the time they opened to several hours after the published closing time of 3:30 p.m.
Customers anxiously waiting for a Farmers Famous Fish Sandwich
My outfit of the day was a maxi dress and cardigan which was perfect for today’s weather.

Hello Friends, I hope you are having a terrific Tuesday!
Saturday, I had the BEST fish sandwich that I’ve ever eaten in my life and “that’s the truth Ruth!” Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had plenty of good fried fish sandwiches; my cousin in New Rochelle can throw down; my church sells some mean fried fish dinners on Fridays; last year I waited almost an hour for a piece of fried fish at Del State’s homecoming; and I always buy fish sandwiches from Dale United Methodist Church at The Middletown Peach Festival. BUT The Farmer Family, owners of Farmers Famous Fish, can throw down, their fish sandwiches are by far the best I’ve ever tasted!
This ‘old school famous fish fry is located in the corner of the BP parking lot on Routes 896/40 in Glasgow, DE. They will be celebrating their 1st Year Anniversary at this location in August and their seasonal opening was last weekend – they sold out on both days! Farmers Famous Fish is a home-based catering business, and their family and friends have tried to convince them to open a restaurant, but for now they want to be out and about in the community so these Weekend Warriors also set up at other events including Community Day in Newark.
Farmer’s Famous Fish is a family friendly operation headed by David and Troy Farmer that also includes their sons David, Jr. (21), Tyelor (18) and Daniel (13). Only quality fish including Swai, Cod and Pollock is used because it’s great for deep frying and also has a light, flaky texture with a hint of sweetness. Hand cut, fresh potatoes sprinkled with a Cajun seasoning are placed alongside two pieces of golden fried fish on a soft, fresh baked roll. The fish is then topped with their (secret recipe) Chipolte coleslaw, a few thin slices of red onion and lemon wedges (my mouth waters just thinking about it).
My suggestion is while waiting for your sandwich and fries try a piece of Troy’s World Famous Sweet Potato Cornbread, it’s delicious, not overly sweet and your taste buds will thank you. You may want to buy another piece to save for dessert later, ask to have a little confectioners sugar sprinkled on top.
It would be great to see Farmers Famous Fish featured on an episode of The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives because this is not grease laden fish slapped between two pieces of Wonder Bread soaked in hot sauce, not sayin those aren’t good but – these are “Slap ‘Yo Mama – It’s So Good” fish sandwiches and I will definitely be going back for more (diet is officially over!)
Farmers Famous Fish is a cash-only stand that is open every Saturday and Sunday until November and soon they will be adding Fish Tacos and Meat loaf to the menu.
Like them on Facebook to keep up with the specials.

On Thursday night, The Delaware Financial Literacy Institute hosted a “Green Tie Friendraiser” at The Chase Center on The Riverfront. The “green themed” event began at 6:00 p.m. and as guests mixed and mingled waitstaff presented trays of succulent Hors D’Oeuvres which included a Crab-Avocado Salad Wrap; Grilled Tenderloin Crostini with Brie; Applewood Smoke Bacon Wrapped Shrimp; Caribbean Coconut Chicken with Mango Sauce; Mini Cheeseburger Sliders and Vegetarian Vietnamese Spring Rolls.
On each table there was a “What’s Your DFL-IQ” sheet that contained clues about the program, completed forms were then entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Gift Card with Travel Mug or a Basket of Wines. The mellow sounds of A-Z Music was heard as they played smooth Jazz throughout the evening. Mary Caraccioli, The Money Confidant, began the presentation with the history of DFLI, a not-for-profit organization that provides FREE financial literacy programs and the importance of the local business support. Emilio Cooper, Board President and a rep of Citizen’s Bank, a Corporate Sponsor also spoke and announced that DFLI had recently received the 2013 Excellence in Literacy Award – Non Profit. Ronni Cohen, Executive Director also spoke briefly and introduced her small, hardworking staff as well as a video that contained testimonies and accolades from several participants and instructors who were also present at the evening’s event.
The highlight of the evening were the eloquent remarks from Victoria Acosta, she and her sister Samantha are “smallpreneurs” whose family business, Precious Pillows, was started by Jennifer at the tender age of 10. She spoke of how DFLI planted the seed that allowed her to become successful and they have been chosen to represent their company at a Christian Technology Camp this summer. Victoria is an A+ student, involved in sports and church activities and is truly an inspiration to others in and above her age group.
“May your days be filled with success and your nights with Precious Pillows!”
Dinner was buffet style with Nacho stations as well as a Cheese/Fruit/Vegetable and Dip table. An open bar served soft drinks, a variety of wine, Twin Lakes Winterthur Wheat beer and a special Green Tie Cocktail – Rita’s Juicy Pear Water Ice & Vodka, which was also available as non-alcoholic.
As guests departed they were given a green dfli monogrammed coffee mug containing a bookmark and donation form. It was a wonderful evening and I will definitely contact my employer to request a donation be made to this worthy organization.

Hello Friends, I hope you are having a good Sunday
Yesterday after car shopping we stopped at Dutch Country Farmers Market to drop off the vacuum cleaner hose for repair. After checking in on Foursquare, I unlocked a Loyalty Badge and was awarded 1 lb of FREE Chicken Tenders from Stoltzfus BBQ. It was definitely a pleasant surprise and was going to be a perfect match for The Ghost Hot Sauce that I had just purchased.
Tired and hungry we drove over to Los Machados Mexican Restaurant for a take out lunch. This was my second time ordering the Texana Salad and it’s delicious; lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions are topped with large succulent shrimp, tender and perfectly seasoned slices of beef and chicken. I added a few drops of The Ghost Hot Sauce to the salsa dressing and BOOM it was on like popcorn!
Hubby ordered the Vegetarian Delight #10; veggies cooked on the grill, served over a bed of rice and topped with cheese. Tayair had the Enchiladas Supreme; 1 chicken, 1 bean and 1 cheese and beef enchilada topped with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and sour cream. This family style, authentic Mexican restaurant is colorful with a fun atmosphere and the next time we’ll dine in so that I can order from it’s impressive bar.

Hello Friends and Happy Friday Eve!
Before I begin, I want to say that I am thankful for my Bloggy friends, for their kind words and understanding of yesterday’s post it was truly a blessing – THANK YOU! Life is so precious and fleeting that we should all stay focused on the positive, spreading kindness and love as we are more alike than most would care to admit.
Now today is a brand new day and mine started with a Green Smoothie made with spinach, almond rice milk and a banana but I must also have 20 ounces of coffee for the road. I am not a coffee snob nor a Starbucks drinker and have purchased coffee at WAWA, 7-11 and Dunkin Donuts, but the best is my homemade, flavored Java, this morning it was Melitta Hazelnut.
What is your must-have morning beverage?
20 ounces of Java in my WAWA coffee cup

Hello Friends and Happy Resurrection Sunday
Wishing You and Yours a Blessed Day!
I was up at 5:30 a.m. but was still late for Sunrise Service because it started at 6:00, why I thought it began at 6:30 is beyond me. I got there just in time for offering and hymns but most importantly didn’t miss the sermon. Church service was good and we had several visitors from local churches and a great breakfast downstairs afterwards.
The weather although dry was cool, wore a cardigan over sleeveless sheath dress.
