Hello friends, I trust you all had a wonderful weekend, mine was quite busy and it’s going to continue late into the night.
This evening I will be heading up to Wilmington to cover the Gordesi Launch Experience – Summer 2015 Collection as part of the VIP Press corp. I am really looking forward to attending this fashion event and I can’t wait to bring you all the exciting coverage.

Speaking of fashion, here is last week’s outfit roundup.
I am going to title this outfit “All in the Family”. Reading through fashion blogs I learned that if you are going to mix patterns, make sure the colors are all in the same family. So with this maxi skirt and black and white shirt, I chose to wear leopard print shoes and purse, I surprised myself with how it all came together.
The belt, purse and top were all thrifted from Goodwill, the flats were purchased at Citi Trends and the skirt has been in my closet forever. What do you think?
This outfit I am calling “Black and Blue Block”. You know how much I like my sleeveless sheath dresses and this one from Ross is no exception, and with it are my favorite Mia heels and Buddah Bag.
Necklace is Avon and bracelet is Old Navy. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the best thing about a sheath dress is that you can wear it all year long by just adding a blazer or cardigan when the temperatures dip. Speaking of Avon, check out my latest YouTube Video, it’s an Avon unboxing which includes beauty supplies that will be part of my Holiday Spa Day Giveaway coming next month!
Here I am in a bright Autumn orange. Orange is definitely a color that works well with my skin tone, not only in the summer but also during the fall. I like this top because it is so colorful and I think it was purchased at Rugged Wearhouse, can’t remember, but the wedge heels were.
I love to mix and match my bangle bracelets as well as the multi color necklace. This Pumpkin floral arrangement was a free find at work, it almost got tossed in the trash but it’s the only thing I use to decorate the house because I donated all the other Halloween decorations a few years ago. Now that my sons are older, we don’t really celebrate it anymore.
Do you decorate the house and yard for Halloween?

My only Halloween Decoration
This last outfit is entitled “Wild Wednesday”. Unfortunately, hubby didn’t get a good view of the peep toe wedges as they also have the “wild stripes” along the bottom.
This purse has been in my closet since 2008, it was one of those “I have to go back and get it” finds at a Flea Market in Orlando. Unfortunately, it has been on the top shelf in my closet for years but I just won’t get rid of it. I love the Egyptian pattern but it’s too small to even hold my wallet!
This khaki skirt was thrifted and the top is a one-piece twin set. In keeping with the wild theme, I am wearing brass earrings, beaded necklace, multi metal bracelet and oversized handmade ring – it was a wild and crazy day! So which outfit did you like the best?
Enjoy the rest of your day and we’ll chat tomorrow at Money Monday.

Hello friends,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and was able to do something fun with your family or friends. Do you guys remember this dress from Midnight Velvet, it is still one of my favorite summertime sheaths.
A few weeks ago I wore it to church along with my Avon Forever shoes and matching purse.
The necklace and earring set is also Avon, and if you haven’t seen a recent catalog you need to do so now as there are some great end-of-the-season sales going on.
Click on my link to see the latest brochure and if you have any questions please feel free to email me: http://www.youravon.com/ablake48
I will definitely be wearing this dress in the fall, can’t wait to wear it with either a red blazer or a black cardigan.
How would you wear it?
As we wind down the summer and head into autumn what outfits are you most looking forward to wearing into the cooler days?
Enjoy the rest of your day and if you get a chance head over to see Whitney’s blog and link up your Personal Style.

Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world.
Here we are again at another week of “You Choose The Shoes” and I am delighted that so many of you have commented that you look forward to this weekly feature. Trust me, I am enjoying it as much as you are and since I have so too many pairs of shoes, this is going to last for quite some time, at least until the first snow fall.
Now last week might have been a “gimme” because of the statement I made about the black and white sandals from Avon, so you know who won right?

This week’s contenders are once again regulars to the party, they are Avon versus Target
Open toe versus closed toe but they are both patent leather.
This is one of many sheath dresses purchased from Burlington Coat factory and tomorrow’s post will be featuring more of these summer sheath dresses.
Are you ready to choose, will it be the purple and black color block pumps from Avon
– or –
The black patent leather pumps from Target?
Yes, they are both comfortable and in cases like this, I wish I could wear them both! So let’s take one more look shall we…
Leave me a comment below with the pair you chose and why, then come on over and visit the ladies at Whitney’s Personal Style Linkup, see ya later.

Hello ladies…sorry guys but I am just talking to the ladies today, we’ll chat later.
If you are a women of a “particular age” as Wendy Williams likes to phrase it, and you are premenopausal or in full menopause, you know how difficult it can sometimes be getting dressed when it’s hot. I keep a fan in the bathroom because there have been days that I’ve overheated just putting on my makeup! In May the weather was fluctuating but now that we are officially into the summer season choosing just the right outfit for work is getting a bit harder.
Personally I like wearing sleeveless tanks and sheath dresses all year long and the panty hose and tights are gone as soon as the boots come off. Fortunately at work we can dress casually, however, it is still Corporate so there definitely will be no shorts, crop tops or flip flops.
These are just a few outfits that I’ve worn during the warm Spring weather, next week I will feature my sheath dresses for the summer sizzle.
Thrifted denim dress with Avon accessories
Thrifted blouse and skirt with flats from Marshalls
Thrifted dress and belt, shoes from Avon
Maxi Shirts
Like it loose and carefree
Totally Thrifted
Weekend Wear
Let’s Chat: What are your warm weather wardrobe must-haves?
BTW, I didn’t forget it was Thankful Thursday. Despite the extra pounds and hot flashes, I am thankful to still be living a stress free and healthy life. I am thankful that my son has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit and should be coming home tomorrow. Of course I am always thankful for my family, friends and my faith. Come on over to Katherine’s Corner and share some of your Thursday Favorite Things.
Now it’s your turn, what are you thankful for this week?

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
This week’s “You Choose The Shoes” may be a little bit more difficult because the shoes are similar in pattern and style, however, there can be only be one winner so I am really counting on you for this one.
Oh wait a minute, before we begin, here is the winner from last week’s challenge:
Thank you all for participating.
Okay, this week’s challenge is between Payless -vs- Ross
Because the dress is a simple purple sheath purchased from JCPenney, I knew it needed to be punched up with pops of color, so I added this necklace from Avon/Mark – what do you think?
Last season I wanted these pumps so badly that I drove to two Payless stores to get them. Thankfully, the Exton store called others and they found a pair in my size at the Concord Mall which is on my way home.
Okay, which ones do you choose?
You can see they are similar in color and pattern, but the heels on the Payless shoes are pink and the ones from Ross are gray. Can’t decide, take one more look then send me your choice.
Payless
Ross
BTW, hubby is now my photographer, which is why I may be smiling more. At first he made me nervous because he would give me these looks when I’d say, “nope, not right, let’s do it again“. However, I do think that he is enjoying himself but I have to watch him, otherwise, he’s focusing the camera on other parts of my body if you know what I mean!
I’m heading over to visit The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
I was recently featured on the website “Fabulous After 40”, and chosen as “Glam Gal of the Week”, (click the link to read in case you missed it.)
I was also selected along with two other ladies who we weren’t afraid to wear the color red after the age of 40. The red sheath dress that I was wearing was received from eShakti as a product review. Sheath dresses are my favorite styles and even with the the change in weather they will remain forefront in my closet.
In today’s outfit I am wearing a color blocked sleeveless sheath dress from Avon. I gave the outfit an edgier look with the pleather jacket thrifted from GW Boutique (Goodwill), studded booties and stud and spike accessories.
Remember when I purchased this Spike Necklace/Earring Set on my birthday at Rugged Wearhouse for a $1.00 on clearance?
Stud & Buckle Booties – Ross
House of Dereon Bag – Burlington Coat Factory
Last Friday I also wore a color block sleeveless sheath dress purchased from Ross with a pair of suede over-the-knee boots and long knit sweater.
These pictures were taken at at Camera’s Etc in Newark (pardon the drunken eyes)
I believe these rhinestone embellished boots were also purchased a few seasons ago from Ross.
As you can see, I have no intentions of putting away my sleeveless sheath dresses anytime soon.
How about you, what are your wardrobe items that you’ll wear in any season?
I was inspired by Transatlantic Blonde in wearing footless tights with a dress, and they were purchased at Target.
Today I am linking up with What I Wore Wednesday with The Pleated Poppy, come on over and meet some new bloggers.
DON’T FORGET – TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES TO WIN THE LEONISA MEN’S SHAPEWEAR (STOCKING STUFFER)

Hello Friends and Happy Monday!
This is a sponsored post for eShakti, for more information please read my Disclosure Statement located in the top tab.
When I was contacted by eShakti asking if I would be interested in doing another review my answer was a resounding, “yes”. The first dress that I had received was of good quality, had a budget-friendly price and shipped quickly, so it would be my pleasure to review another garment. In case you missed that review you can read it here.
My favorite style of dress is a sleeveless shift because of it’s versatility and I also find that it compliments my figure the best. I’ll wear this style any season, all year long, to work, church and out to dinner with hubby. A shift dress transitions easily from summer to winter, and when the weather changes I’ll throw on a blazer or sweater and thanks to KelasKloset have also worn one with a turtleneck underneath.
For this review I chose item number CL0027971.
When submitting an order to eShakti the sizes are based on actual bust, waist and hip measurements proportioned for women Petite to Tall and ranging in sizes from 0-36W. However, if your measurements do not fit into any of these categories it can be customized for an additional $7.50.
I chose this method when ordering and didn’t order one size up as I normally would, so when I received the dress and opened the box I was loving the cut. I loved it even more when I put it on and found that this style was perfect and that it fit my bust, waist and hips nicely.
This dress was chosen because I didn’t want to wear an uber fancy dress to my hubby’s High School Reunion, but after the death of his mother we weren’t able to attend. With not having that event to wear the dress I needed to find a suitable location for a photo-op that would accentuate the look.
I chose Elana’s Florist and Gift Shop on 500 North Broad Street in Middletown. This once small Floral Shop had been transformed into a more expansive and unique Florist and Gift Shop perfect for a photo op. I promised Elana that I would return next month to do a post for my holiday shopping special.
I know my friend and neighbor Corrine, who is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will appreciate the Red Dress and Elephant background.
For me, the very best feature of this dress were the built-in bra strap holders. Every woman knows how irritating it is to have a bra strap sliding down her arm and then having to pull it up a million times.
The dress is made in India of Cotton and Spandex, is machine washable on a delicate cycle and should be hung to dry. The exposed easy slide brass zipper is also a nice accent.
eShakti dresses are affordable custom-made dresses that fit well and are made for the everyday woman such as myself. eShakti has been featured in numerous woman’s magazines and on daytime talk shows so check them out and sign up to receive sales notifications as well as specials with free shipping.
eShakti believes that all women have the right to wear affordable fashion that is made for them and makes them look their absolute best and I definitely agree.
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!
