Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday
Tonight I will be teaching the class, “Dressing for Success on a Budget’ sponsored by The Money School of Delaware. The premise being that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to look professional and how to have a “Champagne Closet with a Beer Budget”
As a self proclaimed frugal fashionista, I usually don’t pay full retail price for my clothing nor do I shop high end department stores or boutiques in a mall. Thrifting at Goodwill or The Salvation Army, hitting a local Consignment Shop, low end retail sales and clearance shopping is much more fun and is easier on my wallet.
Chain stores such as Ross, Marshall’s, TJMaxx, Burlington Coat Factory, Rugged Wearhouse, and Target understands the needs of women who want designer clothing but with lower prices.
I read fashion magazines and blogs and try to stay current with the latest trends but if I can recreate an outfit with thrifted items from Goodwill I most certainly will!
When my sons were younger, they only knew the “Mart Brothers” – Kmart and Walmart!
Shoes are definitely my weakness and I have too many pairs to count, but I never pay full price, not when there are ways to get Reward Points from stores such as DSW or coupons and AAA discounts at Payless and of course the clearance sales at Target!

JC Penney and Sears may not be top on your shopping list but they should be, especially for their end-of-season clearance sales, remember the Liz Claiborne jeans I found for a dollar? Kohl’s is also another great place to shop for clearance deals. Mixing thrifted items with new pieces can make a perfect outfit.

Also, don’t sleep on the cheapie cheap Dollar Stores either, places like Family Dollar, Dollar General and even Dollar Tree oftentimes have great accessories like leggings, tights, hats and scarves. Remember this Fedora that I bought last summer from Dollar Tree!

There are also great deals and bargains to be found online and from catalogs like eShakti, Spiegel and Avon all of which are my favorites.

If you are attending a fancy soiree, try a high end online site such as “Rent the Runway” or “Beg Borrow Steal” and in a pinch go to a Consignment Shop located in a high end neighborhood which is how I found a gown for a Ball that I attended last year.
Dressing for less doesn’t mean you can’t afford better, nor does it have be an embarrasing event, however, I must admit that it can be addictive, especially on $2 Tuesdays at Goodwill!
Where do you shop for your bargains?
Have a fantabulous day – Smooches!

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday
Last month I ordered two pencil skirts which were on clearance for $5.00 each from the Ultimate Outlet catalog. This was the first time I’ve ever worn anything with a built in Bodyshaper, and must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and fit.
This ShapeFX skirt was very comfortable and the bodyshaper lining did not ride up thanks to the elasticity in the band. It gripped my thighs tightly and didn’t show any lines.
The skirt is a neutral color which works well with practically everything in my closet. I am already thinking about wearing it again this winter with an over-sized sweater and my brown knee-high suede boots.
I chose to wear this multi-color, bat-wing sleeve top that I had purchased from Boscov’s and carried my Cognac Tote which was purchased as part of that large shoe haul at Target, remember?
This pencil skirt had a nice fit, it hugged where it needed and was loose where it counted which is always a consideration when choosing clothes to wear to work.
I will definitely be online looking for more $5.00 clearance skirts from Spiegel’s Ultimate Outlet online catalog. What do you think?
Hope you are having a fantabulous day – Smooches!
This was an unsolicited review and no compensation was received – opinion is 100% my own

*This post was written by me on behalf of the Ultimate Outlet. I did not receive compensation nor a product to review. All opinions are 100% mine.
Have you seen that television commercial that shows several office workers “oohing” and “aahing” while looking at shoes on their computer screen? Well my co-worker and I had a similar reaction while checking out clothing at the online store Ultimate Outlet.
Ultimate Outlet is Spiegel’s online website that features clothing and accessories from Newport News and ShapeFX, a brand often worn by talk show hostess Wendy Williams. The Ultimate Outlethas clothing, swimwear, lingerie, and accessories some priced as low as $5.00!
Many of the items are limited in their availability of sizes but I was able to find two Pencil Skirts for $8.00 each and after receiving a ‘first time shopper’ discount of $10.40, my total was only $5.60! #winning
The shipping of $6.94, was more than the total purchase price but I still got a bargain at $12.54. I can’t wait to receive the skirts and then do an OOTD review post. If you get a chance check them out and let me know what you think.
Have a fantastical day – Smooches!
