OOTD – The Big Cut Down
As stated in a previous post, when thrifing I don’t let larger sizes deter me from making a purchase because it can always be altered. This red and white polka dot top was a size 2X that I cut down using another shirt as a guide. I paired it with black and white polka dot capris also thrifted from Goodwill.
2x large shirt thrifted from Goodwill for $3.75

- Folded the shirt in half

- Used another shirt as a pattern for re-sizing

- Cut out leaving enough fabric to stitch

- Belted to cinch the waist a bit more

Larger Size Deals – Skirt….Dress….or Both?
When thrifting I don’t just look in the racks for my size, I also check the larger sizes and if I find something I like I’ll buy it. It can always be altered by taking it in; taking it up, rolling; cutting; belting or wearing it in a totally different way.
For example a skirt in a larger size especially with an elastic waist can be worn as a dress.
