OOTD & Wordless Wednesday-NOT!

Hello Friends and Happy Hump Day Wednesday.  This morning I had an hour long conversation with a cousin that I met only once, 12 years ago at my father’s funeral.  We talked and laughed as if we had spoken just last week.  Our conversation was enjoyable and we both learned a little more about each other and our families.  These days it seems as though personal letter writing or conversing on a LAN line has been replaced with texting, instant messaging, tweeting or facebooking.  We need to connect on a more personal level with family and friends especially as time marches on and our lives shorten.  Today I vow to call her more often as well as having live conversations with other family members and friends.

Dress – Burlington Coat Factory// Sweater – Ross// Shoes – The Shoe Department

OOTD – Corporate Casual

Hello friends and Happy Tuesday.  Fall is in full effect even though there are a few 70 degree days on the horizon, today is just not one of them.  I’m wearing a Jones New York blazer, one of the many thifted from Goodwill, a pair of  plain black pants and a multi-color top.  The shoes were purchased last season from Kmart and are so comfortable that I also bought them in grey.

These 3 pictures were taken with Olympus Digital camera

Melanie Trump Bracelet from QVC Outlet

These 2 pics were taken at work with Samsung Smartphone

Have  a fantabulous afternoon – Smooches!

Breast Cancer Awareness – Don't Panic

A great article from Sunday’s USA Weekend Magazine, by The Doctors

You feel a lump in your breast and immediately panic. It’s understandable: Breast cancer accounts for nearly one in three cancers diagnosed in women. But most lumps, as well as the majority of other breast changes, actually are caused by benign conditions. Three examples:

Breast lumps. They could be cysts. Most often found in women in their 40s, these round- or oval-shaped fluid-filled sacs are not cancerous, nor do they raise your risk. No one knows exactly what causes breast cysts to form, but some science suggests excess estrogen may play a role. Cysts sometimes can get bigger and become painful just before menstruation.

Any new lump needs to be checked. To confirm the mass is a cyst, your doctor will need an ultrasound or a fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy. If the cyst is large and painful, it can be drained via the FNA.

Nipple discharge (that’s not milk). It could be non-cancerous tumors. Called intraductal papillomas, these benign growths develop within breast ducts. Causes and risk factors are unknown, but single tumors in the large milk ducts near the nipple result in clear or bloody discharge. In most cases, they do not raise breast cancer risk.

Tell your doctor about discharge, especially if it’s bloody, which sometimes does indicate breast cancer. If a papilloma is diagnosed, your doctor will likely remove it and a part of the duct the tumor was found in.

Pain. It could be your period. Some women feel a dull ache in their breasts a week before menstruation, often accompanied by swelling, but symptoms subside once your period starts. Women who have fibrocystic breasts, a prominence of scar-like tissue and cysts, may feel pain around their cycles.

Breast pain often resolves on its own, but over-the-counter pain relievers or a supportive bra can help. Trimming dietary fat to less than 20% of total calories also can decrease pain from fibrocystic breasts.

OOTD – 1980's Belt

Hello Friends and Happy Monday.  I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend with a chance to relax.  If you follow me on Instagram or Foursquare you know that I spent mine cleaning out desk drawers, shopping at Costco, Walmart and upgrading my Blackberry to a Smartphone at Radio Shack.  This morning I spent way too much time trying to decide on a belt and eventually settled on one that I’ve had since college, sometimes it pays to keep things.

Remember when I purchased the the pencil skirt and top from Target (here).  The shoes and cami were purchased at Ross.

QVC Outlet

I’ve been working in West Chester, PA for almost 7 years, yet had never gone to the QVC Outlet which is less than 10 miles from the office. Today seemed like a perfect day to get out and window shop because I vowed not to buy any clothing in October. I am not a Monk and I broke my vow with a few items that were too hard to resist. Truth be told I was specifically looking for the Wendy Williams’ Adorn line, but they didn’t have it, must be too new.

The QVC Outlet has a lot of great bargains including summer season clothing marked 70% off, purses and shoes 60% off, home decor 40% off and jewelry 60% off. There was a very large assortment of purses, however, none of them “spoke to me” so none of them came home with me. I did fall in love with a pair of Anne Klein Kitten Heels and had to decide between black, beige or grey/lilac. I chose the grey/lilac because I’ve never had this color, and the price was right at only $20.48. I also purchased a Susan Graver skirt, $8.84; a Joan Rivers watch, $13.94; and a Melania Trump charm bracelet, $14.68, total with tax was $59.46. Now no more shopping until November, must only shop my closet!!!

Seasonal Home Decor – 40% off

This dress would look great with a pair of boots – $8.12

Shoes and too many purses to chose just one – so got none!

Aren’t these adorable?

I purchased the watch and skirt

Had to take picture of this customer’s boots – she purchased them from T.J. Maxx for $39.00, I hope they have them next month!!!
