What to Pack in a Carry-on Bag
Hello friends, I hope all is well in your world. You guys know that we haven’t been on vacation since 2009, way before they instituted the $25.00 per checked bag fee.
Long gone are the days when the boys were young and we headed to Orlando with large suitcases full of clothes, toys and toiletries. Now we have the arduous task of trying to get everyone to fit everything into their one bag and making sure that it weighs less than 25 lbs.
Although we are flying Delta airlines and are allowed 1 free checked bag I don’t want to over do it. It will definitely be easy for my sons and hubby, but I am not so sure about me.

We will be staying at the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort in Puerto Plata for 8 long days, and 7 nights and it’s all-inclusive. Have you ever visited this resort?
I know that I won’t need to pack much, and this is what I was planning on taking so let me know what you think.
Cover Up
Shorts
tank tops
Sleep shirt/undergarments
Sandals
Of course in my toiletry bag I’ll have a high SPF sunscreen, deodorant, makeup, and hair care products.
What do you think, should this be enough or is it too much? I will be carrying a large tote bag to hold my camera, phone, make-up, and wallet, but I think I am missing something…maybe I need to go shopping – wanna come?
Oh, what do you think about this? Is it best to lay everything flat or roll the clothes, which way takes up more space in the suitcase?
Do you have any other packing suggestions – am I anxious or what!!!
I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!
All inclusives are fun but try if you can to see things off the resort. You might want to include some insect repellant too but don’t over pack so you can bring back souvenirs 🙂
Yes, we plan on spending the first 2 days on site and then finding a driver to take us out and about. I will take my Avon Skin So Soft for bugs.
Hiring a reputable taxi driver for tours has been the way we’ve gone. To save space pack things that will do double duty.
yes, I have everything laid out, then on Thursday I will plan on what will actually go into the luggage.
And if you are anything like me that will be revised a few times 😉
yes!
This is a good list, I would add a small pack of wet wipes! Have fun!

Got it – added it to the list, that and a small can of disinfectant.
Enjoy your well deserved vacay my Sista and say Yes to just about everything. . . .
Thank you, I am getting really excited and a little anxious, didn’t realize my sons passports had expired – spent the day in Philly today!
Cute make-up case! Love the pattern.
I always make sure to carry any and all medications on board with me. Because if those get lost you’re out of luck in certain places. Also contacts/glasses/eye-needs. For me those are critical. And some entertainment for the flight and you’re good to go! Have a blast!
Yes, my son’s has allergy medications, thankfully, I don’t but my glasses…because I can’t read without them even though you’ll never see me in them! Thank you and thanks for your suggestions.
Insect repellant, all your meds, sunscreen, and don’t forget a light jacket. If it isn’t cold at night, the AC in the resort could be a little bit much. So excited for your trip!
yes, I am taking a Poshima, sunscreen and aloe but I don’t take any meds. Thanks for the suggestions and good luck on Saturday, I know it will be a great event.
