Goodwill Hauling with A Friend

Today was the first time I went thrifting with a friend and we had a blast!  Our first stop was at Goodwill in Smyrna and this place was huge!  We had a blast looking through the racks; trying on clothes; taking pictures and socializing with the sales associates and other customers.

Good fun was had by all and we left with 3 large bags for $50.63.

Large Goodwill Store in Smyrna, DE

Started out with just a few items.

The pattern on these pants were just a little to busy for me.

The yellow sleeveless shirt was a bit tight across the chest, but I purchased the capris for $3.75

On the phone but these Wet seal color jeans were perfect for $1.88 and the top was $3.75. I liked the pastel pink Ballerina Slippers but forgot to purchase them, may need to go back soon!

Pasley jacket - $5.00

White pants, $3.75
Red and White Polka Dot top will be belted - $3.75

Reason the shop and donate to Goodwill

"Shoes 2 Share" Donation

Teenager’s feet grow so rapidly and my sons have gone through sneakers, shoes and boots like crazy.  All of these old sneakers, sandals and work boots have been stored in the garage because I didn’t think they were worth donating to Goodwill and I definitely didn’t want to trash them.

There’s a “Shoes 2 Share” donation box on Route 896, so this week they bagged them up and dropped them off.  I truly hope they are being picked up by an organization that will ship them to people who are without proper footwear.

OOTD

Today is Friday the 13th and it was my 4th “staycation” day of the year.  My New Year’s Resolution was to take one Friday off every month and today was the day and it was perfect!   Heading out to get my oil changed and then on to do some thrifting.

Today I paired a stripped maxi skirt from Marshalls with an Eastern Tunic from eastessence.com

Rainbow Shop – Summer Colors

After work on Good Friday I decided to stop at the Tri-State Mall in Claymont, DE .  I went first to Joann Fabrics to get a few items for my clutch purses and I was able to use two coupons one for 50% off  and the other for 25% off  a single item which saved me $19.81.

Next stop was to Burlington Coat Factory which was “tore up from the floor up”!  I’m assuming the shoppers were so engrossed in finding just the right Easter outfit that they neglected to put the items back, instead they found it easier just to throw the clothes and shoes across the racks or onto the floor.  Trying to navigate that mess was irritating so I walked out and over to the Rainbow Shop.

The layout of the Rainbow Shop is tight but the sales associates are always walking the floor rehanging and adjusting the clothing so that it’s neater in appearance and makes for a better shopping experience.

These colorful maxis, sweater, top and capris will look great this summer.
